I rarely write reviews, if accom is bad I just don't return, if it is good I come back, either way I don't bother reviewing, but no30 and its owner were so nice...here I go.... We (Husband+I) stayed No.30 for 4 days whilst visiting River Cottage, it was the convenience to Lyme Regis that first caught my eye and the cottage sounded perfect - 2 bath, 2 bed, fantastic. My husband and I have stayed in a wide variety of self catering all over UK, Europe and further afield and I must say the cottage No30 is one of the best; an absolute gem. Cleanliness is one of my essentials on holiday, even something small (a missed dirty corner in a room, a mark on a bedspread) can turn me against a property; this place was spotless. I felt I could walk barefoot around the house and that rarely happens away from home - trust me I am not obsessive, I just like things clean! The decor is just lovely and in keeping with the feel of the place - sweet touches everywhere. The kitchen is fully equipped if you need to cook with a dish washer and Washing machine also. It was not great weather for sitting outdoors (January) so cannot comment too much on the garden, but from the window, it was a sufficient size and ambience for a long lazy summer drink at the end of a beach day - I am thinking ahead! Mark, the owner was more than helpful arranging the stay and he put himself out with an extra query when I arrived; he was available but not intrusive. Lyme Regis was quaint and it's people v.pleasant and hospitable. Plenty of pubs, places to eat, a late opening tescos, great safe parking and all the amenities you would expect or need- all within a 5-10 min walk. We stayed in the larger property (sorry I can't remember which number!) for a weekend in March as my partner was taking part in an event locally. The cottage was perfect - the kitchen was well equipped, the bathrooms were beautifully done out and all the beds were freshly made and comfortable. Lyme Regis itself was a pleasure to walk around, and despite the freezing sea temperatures we were lucky enough to have a little bit of sunshine to tempt us to paddle. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable weekend away, and we shall certainly remember this for future trips to Dorset / Devon. many thanks read more

Such a lovely cottage. Just 2 minutes from the local bakery, 5 minutes from town and beach, and near a good fish and chip shop! (ideal after our long car journey). The cottage is spacious, well kept, clean, and well furnished. The beds were comfortable and we all had an excellent time. The garden is large enough for a good BBQ and is pearched high up (so warning if you have super small ones, you'll have to keep an eye them. Ours has been walking for a couple of months and it was fine-she loved runnin around). I would recommend it and come back! read more

We really enjoyed our stay at no. 31 Coombe Street. The house was well-equipped with the decor being cheerful throughout. The house is in a central location so that all amenities are within easy walking distance. It is in the oldest parts of the town therefore parking could have been problematic but arrangements were easily sorted out at the nearby carpark. we look forward to visiting the house again in the near future. We stayed in 31 Coombe Street, and all 3 generations of the family loved the house. The decor is lovely, bedrooms a good size and kitchen well equipped - all things that rarely come together in our many years of visiting Lyme (and other places). Central location is ideal - there's really no need to move the car. We'd certainly recommend the house (and helpful service from Mark), and I'm sure we'll be back. read more

We stayed in 30 Coombe Cottage. It was perfect we had everything we needed, perfect location. My boyfriend and I would go out first thing in the morning before the masses decended. There's a lovely bakery two minutes down the road where we would get bread, have a coffee then wonder back. Perfect. The cottage itself was clean well equiped we couldn't ask for more. Number 31 Coombe Street was very very comfortable and very stylish. We stayed there with our three kids all of whom are under 5 and the space worked really well for us. The central location means that if you don't want to, you don't even need to move the car which is great. We'd definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone who loves Lyme Regis. read more

I stayed at no.30 with my wife and two children and it suited us just right. Great location in the middle of the town and a short stroll to the beach; all very clean and well equipped; very helpfull landlord who was easily contactable to make arrangements. We (4 adults, 1 two-year old) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 31 Coombe Street. The house was well-appointed and comfortable. The location was perfect, being within walking distance to shops and the beach. We would recommend this place to anyone, including families with young children. read more

Just came back from a lovely week in Lyme. The cottage is beautiful and is finished to a very high standard. All the rooms have been recently decorated and are beatiful....my partner did not want to leave!!Friendly welcome from Mark and his wife....thoroughly enjoyed it. read more
