Still we needed gas so we gave it a try. We should have kept driving. While I filled up the tank, my husband went inside to get me a $1 soft serve and get a bison burger for himself. Turns out the $1 is for a basic cone but he got me a waffle cone because he knows I like them. The ice cream may have been $1 but the cone was a $1.50 up charge so my cone was $2.50. Ok He paid $15 for his bison burger to be told that was just for the burger and they wanted $5 more for fries. $20 later he came outside with what you see pictured which looks worse than hospital cafeteria food I have had, but don't worry, it didn't taste bad because it tasted like nothing. He had to put the little cup of fry sauce on his burger and fries just to give them some flavor. Also, we were parked directly outside the building where we purchased food and the guest wifi would not connect. My husband did say it worked inside but was incredibly slow. We were very disappointed in our stop here and we should have known better. Keep driving.

LOL. I just happened to be driving a load of belongings for a family member retiring to Nevada and I graciously decided to help drive their stuff to. There were many stops along the way but this was definitely one of the most scenic road stops I've ever been to. It has been a while since that drive but checking some of my in draft reviews, I saw I had this hanging waiting to be finished. I can't believe this stop only has one review which is why I wanted to boost the profile. The bathrooms and facilities are clean and the parking is spacious but the best part is this beautiful canyon side view. Don't miss this narrow walking path to a higher point where you can take super picturesque shots of the canyon. It is behind the Welcome to Utah sign and bring some water for the steep incline. This was unexpected and I ended up spending way longer than usually checking out the grounds. As I recall, looking at my photos, there was a squirrel that followed me around. He was friendly but kept his distance, I wish I had some food for my new friend, I think he just wanted to make sure I saw all the best parts of the Canyon. He was the best tour guide ever. If I ever drive by Utah again, I'm sure I will stop here with some food my my little buddy and to take a breath and enjoy the view.

I ordered a couple "Baked Potatoes ". We asked the young lady behind the counter for some butter and she looked at us like we had three heads and said " no, we don't have that". Well, we sat down only to find that the potatoes came out lukewarm at best's and for $30.00 for baked potatoes, hell no. Walked up to the pick up window and told the same girl about the issue the girl but couldn't figure out what to do so I asked for the manager. There was another kid making food who said " we put them in the warmer for 15 minutes". Wrong answer. As I was gathering the food to take care of it in my RV, the kid walks up within a foot of my head a shouts at the top of his lungs a customers name. Needless to say he was within 30 seconds of meetings Jesus. The managers answer to this was to say " Tony, please use the intercom when announcing orders". This will be the last time I'll stop here or just long enough to get some rest and NOT patronize them so I'm not so sure this is what the owners would want. It has everything you need - gas, very comfortable lodging (including for RVs if you're carrying your own lodging), a general store, restaurant, bar, and soft serve. There is enough pavement around the property to get a decent walk in. The value for what you get in lodging is far and away the best I've seen in years. No IKEA furniture falling apart in the closet here (throwing shade at Marriott chains in this price range). There's a wood dresser, solid beds with comfortable mattresses, many different types of pillows, comfortable seating, a LOT of space, a real bathtub, and multiple sinks (in and out of the bathroom). We stayed for a full day and 2 nights during a snowstorm. They are very efficient in removing snow so people can move around both with their vehicles and feet. There is nothing to DO here, but you can eat at the restaurant nearly 24/7 and they do have a pretty typical hotel gym. We saw the manager responding to a complaint about a dog that had been left alone in a room and was barking up a storm at 10pm. There is at least one entire building where pets aren't allowed, so if you're not interested in ending up like the poor guy making the complaint, ask the desk clerk about availability in the pet-free building(s) when you call for reservation or check in.

It's high desert, middle of nowhere and a welcome sight to get a meal, fuel & park for the night. The RV park is spacious, with wide roads to maneuver. Sites are gravel, level & easy in/out for our 43 ft Class A Coach. Check in at the Hotel Registration Lobby. Easy enough. We set up the Coach and made it to the Lobby Bar, which opens at 3:00.... Karen was our Bartender. Friendly person.... we had a couple good conversations with some truckers that had parked in the Truck section. After we had a couple of beers...... we grabbed our ice cream cone for .75 cents and headed back to the Coach. Happy campers !!

There are plenty of billboards along the freeway announcing the travel center and why you should stop in. One specific billboard sealed the deal for us dropping by. That billboard mentioned that they had ice cream for 99 cents! It was a good deal! Soft serve vanilla ice cream in a cone for 99 cents was worth it. The price of gasoline was reasonable. The travel center was clean as were the restrooms. Lots of merchandise to browse through. Found a slice of Blueberry Cheesecake in one of their cooler doors. That cheesecake was delish! Well, if you ever find yourself in this part of Wyoming.....I recommend that you stop in. Happy Travels!!

This was my 4th or 5th stay at Country Cabins, and my 3rd time staying in the 'Moose Cabin', #210…read more I stay here for the convenience and price, but the owners/staff could be doing a much better job of cleaning and maintaining the cabins. For example, during this stay, out of 5 lamps/sconces in my cabin, every one of them had a bulb out, resulting in the interior feeling very dim/under-lit. During the day I could open the window shades for more light but then privacy was diminished. Also, there were many, many dust bunnies under the beds and extensive and obviously aged cobwebs (meaning they appeared to have been there a LONG time) in every corner and on every lamp and sconce. It's still the only place to stay in Mountain View, and the location is convenient with a very-well-stocked Mavericks gas station across the street, a coffee shop down the street, and easy access to a major highway. I would just like it to be cleaner. By the way, this feedback was provided to the owner/manager on my last visit and upon check out this visit, and was acknowledged without any comment or apology.

We planned to visit the Fort Bridger Historical Site (great place!) the following day before heading on into Utah so this motel was well located. All things considered I would recommend this motel. Although we were surprised by their Contactless Check-In process (we arrived around 7pm on a Sunday night) we were able to quickly check-in and enter our room (#206). It was nice to not have to keep track of a hotel room card for entry to our room. However I wondered if they change the room codes between guests? I've encountered this keypad lock system at another motel and that place used the last 4 digits of my phone number for room entry which gave me an extra feeling of having a unique security access code. There were about 4-5 other rooms occupied the night we stayed there so I can't comment on noise issues commented by another reviewer as we were not disturbed and slept through the night easily. The bed was very comfortable but might be a little too tall for shorter guests to easily climb into. The wood pole framing has to be climbed over to reach the mattress but for 1 night it was not an issue. I just wouldn't buy a bed like that. We walked our dog around the block. Not much to see but homes and yards but the people we spoke to were friendly and seemed used to seeing Gateway guests. What We Disliked * The carpeted flooring just looks dirty since there are stains that they apparently can't get out. Replacing the carpet with vinyl planking in the room would slightly modernize it and make it appear to be better kept up. Looking at their Guest Informational Binder it needs to be updated. The Pet Policy fee is no longer $10 (now $25) so I wondered what other information in it was outdated and useless for their guests? Before booking I looked at available restaurants in Lyman since we'd want to have a supper that night. Finding few choices in Lyman we made sure to stop further up the road in Evanston, WY to eat.
