First time using Lyft this past weekend! Our driver was really friendly and the car was clean, which definitely made a difference. It took about 10 minutes for our driver to get to our pick up location (St Pete area), but then it took about an hour to get from our pick up location to the drop off location (Busch Gardens). Maybe I'm just used to being a crazy driver, but this guy stayed in the right lane doing the speed limit instead of driving with the traffic. He also took a couple of wrong turns and so we ended up driving in circles not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES. Now, I love the idea behind Lyft. And seriously, a clean car and a friendly driver, and not having to have cash to pay...ALL good things!! I love the app, I love that I pay by card in the app. Definitely a huge improvement from the creepy (and often times unreliable) cab rides I've had in Florida. I'm not sure what nav system Lyft relies on, but when there are signs saying "Taxi/Drop Off/Bus Entrance" with an arrow pointing in the correct direction, and the driver just goes right on by...well... I'm pretty unimpressed. read more

IF I could give a ZERO i would. Here is my Facebook post regarding this scamming company. Totally SCAMMED by #lyft and so have many others! DO NOT USE LYFT TAXI SERVICE! charged me DOUBLE after displaying their rate and then had the nerve to say I would have been notified that my price was DOUBLED beforehand, when I reported my driver! I am telling them i WAS NOT notified! then when we got to our destination i asked the driver where did this rate come from, he proceeded to act like he could not speak English. I was shocked! Once my friends stepped out of the van, he THEN says the rate is doubled for plus. EXCUSE ME? NO. Your basic rate is 1.25 per mile, the Plus rate that is displayed is 1.87. Even when you go back to their website it says that! Any additional prices "IF ANY" are "communicated" to you beforehand, not once you arrive!. There's nothing better than getting a Lyft here in Tampa! We have all had bad experiences with cab drivers around here and it's time someone put them in their place and created a better alternative in transportation. My Lyft drivers have been exciting, funny and just great to be around. I feel safe, much safer than I ever have with a cab driver. I love that there is no money exchanged! It's all app based! Cheaper, safer, faster, cleaner, and more friendly than any taxi/cab. Cash is never exchanged, you sit in the passenger seat rather than the back seat, you are greeted with a friendly fist bump and most Lyft drivers provide water &/ snacks. Some drivers even have awesome themes! read more

I recently flew out of PIE Airport and had to take a Lyft there. I requested a ride on Friday morning, July 20 and was quickly picked up by "Adilson". He was a very nice young man, a safe driver, and we had a good conversation. When he dropped me off at the airport, silly (duh) me left my house keys in his car. He quickly sent word through Lyft and I was able to text him to figure out a solution. I live alone and have no family in the area. He offered to drop off the keys to a friend of mine. He dropped them off the same day and went out of his way to do so, and would not even take the tip my friend left for him (so I went back in the app and increased his tip). I am just so impressed with how kind and honest Adilson was...I wish all drivers were that great!!! read more

I had my first experience with this car service the other day while I was visiting Tampa with friends. We went out to Ybor City to a couple of bars and the experiences both to and from the bars were pleasant and cost effective. The biggest issues I had with both drivers was that it was a bit of a hassle just getting in the same spot to just get into the car as they had a tough time finding us. But, with the use of my cell phone it was easily fixed. I'm not much of a drinker, so this isn't a service I expect to use regularly, but when I do I'll certainly be happy to use them again. read more

Ordered a lyft on Sunday June 23rd from the airport in Tampa. App said the driver was 9 minutes away. 10 minutes later i call her she is getting gas. 15 minutes later shows up, no room in the trunk for our luggage. We had to put our bags in the back seat, mine in the front because it wouldn't fit. She didn't apologize she said she had a stroller in the trunk. There was no conversation, the car was filthy and she drove barefoot. I have sent 3 different requests for lyft to contact me, they say they will call within 2 hours. No reply from them. This ride was $35.00 and not worth a penny of it. I won't use lyft again! POOR, POOR, POOR customer service! read more

Honestly I use to love lyft but now ima go back to uber...some drivers are rude...and some drive u around the whole town before they get to your destination...what should of took 5 minutes took 45 and I was charged extra for a mistake that wasent even my fault...im not even exaggerating on the time..it was ridiculous...and the price for rides now are outrageous...they don't even give discounts or copouns any more..and their GPS is always off...i deleted my app I'm good on lyft...very disappointed... read more

Lyfted to Purgatory I took a Lyft from an eyeglass place to a Wal-Mart, at around 1:30pm EST on Monday, May 10th. The driver, Mayra, was cordial, though neither of us spoke much. I made the mistake of leaving my only phone in her car. A Wal-Mart employee let me use her phone to try to contact Lyft. The conveniently had no number for me to call, to speak to a person. I wound up using that person's phone to book another Lyft to get home. After I got home, at about 5p, I got a reply from a Lyft employee named Elena, letting me know that she had forwarded my email and street addresses to Mayra, with a request for contact. The next day, around noon, I sent another email to inquire about my phone, as I still Hadn't heard back from them. Elena responded that she'd reach out to Mayra again. I replied that the drive could at least let me know if she had my phone, as I needed it for work, & it had all my info in it. I had to get a new phone, to log into work, on the same day; emailed such by 3:18pm EST, stating that I still wanted the old one back, and that they could call me now, if necessary. The response, by around 5:47p EST, was that they were unable to reach the driver, and that "It's important to note that drivers are independent contractors and are not required to keep in direct contact with us", and the email also contained some link that didn't work. I responded, letting them know that this was unacceptable, and that I wanted a supervisor, if the driver were still allowed to make money working for them after such behavior. I also mentioned legal action. I received my last response, from a Melisa, at about 6:44, which was a de facto shrug, stating that the driver had been unresponsive, and that they were unable to take any further action, but would let me know if they heard anything. My final email to them mentioned that that reply hadn't fully answered my question, and that, if I didn't receive a meaningful reply, I'd be posting about all of this, names included, so everyone would know about their service. It has been radio silence ever since. As far as I know this child I still employee by Lyft, making money; not even bothering to respond to situations such as this one. The reply was the same form-letterese shrug and to review the terms of service, without commenting on whether the driver will by under you employ or not. I replied that I'd update my reviews accordingly! read more

Oh my gosh, what a horrible experience!!!! When I spoke to the driver he had a bad attitude because he couldn't find my location, although he was literally 15 seconds away from me, he was just around the corner of the building I was standing outside of. But the worst part was the car. It was a freaking pig sty. I was soooooo grossed out. The floors were filthy. Old Doritos and dirt and grime all over the place. A huge coffee stain covering 75% of the back seat of the passenger seat. The ceiling, doors, floors were dirty with grease and smudges and fingerprints. There was a slight foul odor in the car, it made me sick. The front seat and floor area was piled with crap and junk. To think of the inside of this car makes me sick. And he kept talking about himself. Not in a conceded way, but giving way too much information about his life, his housing situation, his past illnesses, etc. The second driver I had barely went the speed limit on the main roads, but come to my subdivision where it is clearly posted 25 mph, the guy raced through it. The "slow down" sign was flashing and he whipped past that. I would never recommend this company to anyone. Yikes! read more

Just wanted to inform people how Lyft deals with creepy drivers. Any women taking rides out there late at night knows that riding with a stranger is already kind of uncomfortable. I got a ride from a guy that hit on me, and did it in a way that made it seem that he is probably hitting on any lady that gets in his car. I didn't think this was cool, and I was not given the chance to rate the driver after my ride, so I contacted customer service. They told me that I could not rate the driver, but they would not pair me with him anymore. So FYI: they don't find this behavior to be problematic or a safety concern to their customers. USE UBER - THEY TAKE COMPLAINTS ON DRIVERS SERIOUSLY. I only switched because my Uber app wasn't working at the time. read more

I booked it in advance to leave at 530 am on April 10th, since my flight left at 8:30 am. I felt good I had booked in advance. I was ready at 5:20 on April 10th 2021 and three of your drivers canceled on us. The first driver was a 2020 Toyota Camry. He canceled so quick I didn't get his license#. The second driver Dunar Florida plate# 290QWH 2020 Toyota RAV it didn't even appear he was on his way because his car wasn't moving on the map screen and ETA kept going up to my arrival destination. When I messaged him he canceled on us. The third driver Florida license# QVHR02, driver Jaime in a 2013 Hyundai Sonata cancelled 10 minutes before arrival to us. Then the next message we received is new arrival time to the airport is 9:10 am, which is after my flight. I wasn't going to risk a 5th rider either. Your site should be ashamed of itself. Don't offer what can't be delivered. Don't offer to book in advance when it's a scam. Not even worth a one star rating but I had no choice. read more

I got an unsolicited email from Lyft so I deleted it. 15 minutes later I got a phone call from a driver saying he was outside. I told him I never ordered a ride so he said I had to cancel the ride and I did. I then got an email charging me a $5 cancelations fee! I disputed the charge & immediately deleted the app. I will NEVET use Lyft. I'll stick with Uber. read more

They were very polite and respectful, knew what they were doing, except for 1 problem on my way home going across the bridge the a/c stopped working so when I contacted them and was quickly assisted to find that I could take it to a pep boys in Clearwater which I did..i took the car to pep boys in Clearwater and they said it was the a/c sensor and would have the part in by 3:30 and the car would be ready by 5:00 PM so I left and got back at 4:45 PM they said it was ready and fixed, well it wasn't fixed it took me 5 minutes of driving and it was clear the a/c had not been fixed so I took the car back to pep boys only to have them tell me to bring it back Saturday because their mechanic had already gone home. Now what kind of company works with a company that cares more about getting off then getting the job done right the first time..needless to say I brought the car back in on Saturday and was there till about 10:30 before they told me that they couldn't find the problem and the car needed to be taken to a dealership because they didn't have the right equipment to run a full diagnostic test for the a/c so they went on to tell me that my best bet was to take it back to Lyft which I will do on Monday and depending on what is done with getting me a car that works and what they are gonna do about my lost 4 days..Friday - Monday I will revise my review accordingly but for now gets a 1 star read more

Great service!!! The local transportation in Tampa used to be horrendous, and I say use to be. great no need for cash pay through the app automatically don't have to worry about being hassled for tips not to mention when you were a little bit tipsy you don't want to be going through your money in a person's car great service no more waiting or hailing for cabs. Per my incident reported to you yesterday. If said customer gives me a poor rating it should not be reflected or counted against me, can you ensure this? After vomit was placed on my car's internal surfaces, the rider instead of expressing remorse behaved like nothing happened. This shows a lack of respect and concern for me and me property. I wish to never pick up this pax (rider) again, please fix this in your system so I never have to encounter this person again. The vomit was expelled in my car and out of the goodness of my heart I continued the trip, I should have ejected them then and there. After some driving, I noticed that the smell was becoming quite insufferable, this made me increase my velocity. The rider reported that I was speeding, why should I drive slowly? I wanted to end this ride promptly. The longer that "biological agent" (human bodily fluid) is left on my seats and carpet and mats, it would have made it all the more difficult to remove the smell (yuck). After they exited my car and slammed my door, I drove to a Walgreens; as this was the only place open at the time to purchase supplies to get my car back to normal. I could not afford to leave that "mess" in my car until the morning, the smell would have permeated my car's fabric. This was not an acceptable option. With a smelly car, I first and foremost would not have been happy; and why should I. Secondly, other riders would not be happy. I did the cleaning myself, I had too; in order to lessen the chance that, that smell of "puke" did not become a permanent fixture in my car. I do not know what the going rate is for cleaning something like is, but I can assure you it is not less than $25. To even suggest such a punitive compensation amount is extremely insulative. It seems to me more and more that Lyft only cares about the riders, but the people that are your brand ambassadors, and use their own property to grow your business always get the sharp end of the stick, how typical. I had to purchase cleaning wipes, among other things and much spray disinfectant and air fresheners. Say nothing of my emotional distress, I am not rider, therefore Lyft does not care, typical. Please compensate my fairly and justly. Show me that Lyft even really gives a darn about their drivers, this will allow me the spread the good word about Lyft's caring policy towards its drivers? At the end of the day, this model relies on self-driving cars, the driver is disposable. Society is in a sad place.... I humbly wait. read more

Lyft let's their driver's make fraudulent damage reports and will keep making changes to your bank account and overdraft your bank account and Lyft let's their driver's treat their passenger's disrespectful, and nasty and the driver gets no reprimanding for any of it. A ride that should have cost me $20 is actually costing me over $150. Lyft over-drafted my account not once but 3 times trying to take $25 damage fee that I shouldn't have been charged because the sand that the driver said I was responsible for but the sand was already on the floorboard mats before I even stepped a foot into the vehicle. Lyft does not care about how their driver's treat their passenger's. The driver's name Angela. She has long blonde hair and acts stuck up, nasty, and very disrespectful and files fraudulent damage reports to collect damage fee of $25. Beware if she's your driver. I have been using both Uber and Lyft for about 3 months. I ran into a problem once with Uber but there is no customer service and I received no satisfaction. I have found both services satisfactory until recently. Starting a new job, Uber was $7 more for the same ride, so I have been using Lyft and from what I can see or hear, the drivers much prefer driving for Lyft. Uber takes up to 70% of their money, Lyft takes about 20%, So I have had no problem using Lyft, although the costs are now exceeding what I can afford, so I will probably start driving part-time for them. read more

WASTE OF MY TIME AND NO CUSTOMER SERVICE--Scheduled a Lyft the day before I was to arrive at TPA for 5:30 pm. I was by Jetblue door 1 waiting to be picked up by a white Kia Optima. Although the notification I received said he had arrived, there was no car there with the description I was sent, nor the license plate number that I was sent. I selected the "contact driver" option, and sent him a text message saying that I was there but didn't see him. I received a general message from Lyft saying "the driver wouldn't be able to answer the text if he's driving". Then I selected the option that allowed me to call the driver. The phone rang and rang. I tried a second time. After ringing about 10 times, I get a voicemail in a foreign language. I sent the driver a second text letting him know I was trying to call him. I didn't get any answer to that text message. When the 10 minute window was up, a white Kia Optima with the Lyft sign suddenly appeared. I asked him if he was my driver. He said he was not and let another person in the car. When I asked for his help in contacting my driver, he said he COULD NOT HELP me. I was going to schedule another Lyft, but the waiting time was 30 minutes and I didn't want to risk being stood up again, so I took a regular cab. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH LYFT. By the way, there is no general customer service number on the Lyft web site where you could actually talk to a person when you are experiencing a problem. read more

Don't bother scheduling. I did this twice and both times they were no shows. Drivers do not get penalized for canceling at the last minute, but riders do. I had foot surgery a week ago and was instructed not to drive for two weeks. I needed to go back to the doctor. Lyft was a no-show. The first time, scheduled a week in advance 4 them to take me to my foot surgery. "Michael" agreed to the trip. A day before I needed to go, his name disappeared and was replaced with "a driver.". I suspected a no show, so I canceled it altogether and hired Dan the Cab Man. I could not take the chance of a no show with two surgeons in eight nurses waiting for me. if you need a last-minute pick up even though you thought you had a scheduled driver and a driver does not want to take on the trip, you are truly screwed. Today, against doctor's orders, I drove myself to the doctor's office with my foot in a surgical boot. That was scary considering the surgery was the foot that I had to drive with. So not only did they leave me in the lurch, they forced me to put other people on the road in danger. Forget these people. read more

I was helping my dad learn to use gogograndparent. We were taken to a local mall with no problem. Getting picked back up never happened. After two drivers took the ride and cancelled a third finally took the call and came to the mall. He did call and said he was at the other end of the mall. I explained which mall entrance we were at. He hung up, charged us for a non pick up and never came to where we were. I had given specific instructions to gogograndparent as to where we were and also to the driver. Finally I called my wife to pick us up. I'm not sure if I'm more upset with Lyft and the driver who just charged and left us, or with gogograndparent. There is no way to contact Lyft to let them know what a slimmy thing they did abandoning a 95 year old man so now this review. At least gogograndparent did call 15 minutes later when they figured out we hadn't been picked up and offered to try to get us picked up. Still the whole experience was a failure with the added insult of being left by standing by a Lyft driver who had the directions to where we were then had the nerve to put us in for a charge. I'll NEVER us Lyft again. If you don't know if you don't have the Lyft app on your phone there is no way to contact them. Even with the app... Lot's of luck if it happens to you. read more
