I really hate to put in a bad review but I was in Clearwater a couple weeks ago for 5 nights. I called 3 different evenings to get rides and no one available or in the area each time.. somewhat disappointed but, will try again when back to visit, hopefully the rating will be better read more

We were eating lunch blocks away from our car. A huge/bad thunderstorm came up. We called for a ride. The driver showed up exactly to the minute that he said he would. He was extremely nice and professional. I wish I could remember his name. Great experience. The drivers work for tips. He was so helpful and helped us get ourselves and our purchases back to our car safe and sound. It was only a few blocks but we were so grateful. He got a $20 tip for being there when we needed him. read more

While visiting Clearwater beach you see these Florida free rides all up and down the strip. So we were down on the strip celebrating and decided to use this free ride service we having been hearing. Do after calling the number our ride showed up within 5 mins. The driver was very kool and full of information about all the attractions and great places to eat at. So after our ride I asked how much this was. He's like it's free if you feel like giving a tip that would be great. Well I gave the guy a tip and it's definitely cheaper than anything else on the island for a taxi!!! Highly recommend you use this service if needed it's cheap!!! read more

We used this great group of people during our visit to Clearwater Beach. I don't drive and my 12-year-old grandaughter wanted to see everything. they were always on time, never left us stranded. Just great. We also used their airport shuttle from Tampa airport to Clearwater. The couple who took us there and back were wonderful. They pointed out landmarks, attractions and many other sites to see. Next time we go, they will be the first to know!! read more

I was suffering from heat exhaustion and needed to get back to our vehicle. Sheppard's was kind enough to give us FFR's contact information. They arrived within two mins of calling the number. The driver was nice (at the moment) and got us to our destination. We didn't realize that the ride wasn't actually free and required tips. We didn't have any cash left for the day, else we would have asked for the dudes PayPal or called a Lyft. When he realized that we didn't have cash, the driver flipped! "That's it?! No gas, No nothing?! Don't call us next time!" Mark my words. We won't! read more

Great service at first... The first driver we had was named Scott... He was fantastic and gave us some great advice. Then Javier later in the day was great and helped us find a great burger joint. However, later that evening, some new driver we had only ridden with once, demanded a tip! Literally, he got confrontational, I thought this dude was going to pin me in the van until I paid him... First off, texting on your phone and swerving while driving... I am not tipping for that. Second, I was not aware they worked for tips... The car says nothing about it, the website, nor the drivers until this, my last ride.... And I do mean my LAST ride. So... Congratulations, no tip for you and you successfully ruined my vacation... RIDERS BEWARE...make sure you ask them how much they feel the trip is worth... Or you'll find your calls getting ignored. That guy wanted a tip, so I will give everyone his tip.... This is a fantastic service! We had friendly drivers who gave us great tips on where to go and what do, and they do this all for just tips! Would definitely recommend this as an uber alternative. The car/vans were clean and spacious. read more

My friends and I had awesome luck with Florida Free Rides on our recent trip to Clearwater Beach. Here's how it works: -Call the number -Tell them where you are and where you're headed -Get picked up by a van that looks exactly like the Cash Cab -Ask the driver 8-10 times if you're in the Cash Cab -Hide your disappointment when you finally accept that no one's going to give you money or ask you trivia questions. You're an adult now, Angela. You can't cry every time it isn't the Cash Cab. -Arrive at destination -TIP THEM These people work for tips. So tip them! It's a great service, and they were fast and friendly every time. We especially enjoyed the driver who played reggae for us, then took us through what we can only assume was a Wikipedia-approved history of reggae music. That guy was great. Great for groups. They call if they're running behind. Cheaper than the trolley if you're just going to town and back. read more

Very unprofessional and greedy. No matter how much you tip they complain about it. Much easier to take an uber or lyft and tip them for their hard work. Will cost you more for using Florida free ride than it would other services including a generous tip. read more

What a great service this is. When we checked into the Hyatt, they said if we didn't want to drive we just call Florida Free Rides and it's tip Service only, no fare to pay. So we tried it, was great. Nice gentleman picked us up both to and from dinner. He was very polite and this was a very professional experience that I highly recommend if you want to go anywhere on the island. read more

Extremely unpredictable! Tonight we used this service. The idea is they give you a free taxi ride and you just pay a tip of whatever amount you want. The dispatcher said the ride would be there in 20 minutes and they arrived over an hour later. Ouch. Over the weekend, a similar thing happened. I think the idea is ok, but they need to start being more honest and accurate with their time estimates. read more

We used the free ride service during our 3 day stay at Clearwater Beach. Drivers arrived within minutes. We made sure that we were ready when we made our call. Each one was professional and never indicated that they needed a tip. I always tipped because I was so grateful for the service and not having to find parking or navigate traffic. Rides say no smoking but both smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. Divers were both nice and the ride was much cheaper and faster than taking our own vehicles. read more

I have used Florida Free Ride many times as a Clearwater Beach local. Tonight I called to get a ride from Shepherds and I was called to be told that the driver was 1 minute away which is expected and appreciated. As my friend and I waited 15+ minutes outside after the call I decided to call back and get a status of my ride. When I called I got in touch with the driver and I was told that he waited for 5 minutes at "the lobby and that's usually where we pick up and you weren't there". No one ever told me where to wait to be picked up and I have gotten a Free Ride from Shepherds many times before. After expressing my dissatisfaction the driver asked if I was "the two girls who were on the side of the road". So what you were saying is that you saw us and didn't bother to ask. We were the ONLY people at Shepherds looking for a ride at that time and you clearly noticed us and because we weren't near the "lobby", less than 10 yards away and clearly visible, you didn't have the audacity to speak up and see if we were the ones that needed a ride. Then when I explain that I was never told to meet at the lobby I was hung up on. You just lost a loyal local rider and I will be informing EVERYONE of your piss poor service. I wanted to support local business, but Uber and Taxi will do. read more
