She fell in love w/ her mini instantly. Unfortunately our story is a Rarity & we had non stop issues w/ the car. For a year it was in & out of the shop. It had left my daughter stranded numerous times & was costing us A LOT - when it shouldn't. To understand the level we were on, We paid $10.5 & were $7,500 into repairs - I had enough when another issue w/ a $3k repair bill was needed a month behind the last- Portland Mini always told us- we will make it right. After the 6th & -for me, FINAL- breakdown occurred - I was put in touch w/ Bradley. A manager who has served this area for 18 years. A woman who LISTENED & DESERVES A RAISE! For real, w/o her this would be a completely different review. Once she SAW us, she put a stop to the entire situation. She found a solution when others barely heard me. Although it may have taken some back & forth, missed calls & messages~ not only did she "take care of us" but we came out better than we could have hoped for. They went as far as to make sure the last repair THAT WAS PUT ON CREDIT- was able to be paid. The sleepless nights are GONE, I (mom) get my car back & our lives are almost back to normal. My husband kept telling me - I just needed to live & learn. TTo me that was lunacy. We now have reliable transportation for our daughter, a bit less debt than before but my biggest takeaway was Bradley. To say she gave me back some faith in humanity is an understatement. I have been struggling with how fast things are changing. How less human our society is. The automation taking over the personalization. I went to 2 dealers near my house and was pretty much told to eat dust. I emailed Floyd and explained my situation. He immediately responded back and told me they would take care of it. I was blown away the process with them was so easy. Floyd put me in touch with Geoff and scheduled me to have my bottom portion leather on my drivers seat replaced. Both them kept informed and updated with when seat cushion arrived and even asked when was a convenient day for me to bring it in. I was even more blown away they gave me a loaner car until part was replaced, I would have been happy to wait the 4 hours for them to replace the part. I can't thank Floyd and Geoff enough for helping this ordeal so painless and easy. I'll gladly drive my Telluride the distance and have it serviced there from now on, even if it's a drive. If they are that easy to work with, I have zero reservations they won't rip me off like the other two dealers would based on how they wouldn't handle the simple warranty claim. Arguably deceptive Business practices. On April 11, 2026 My…read moredaughter bought a 2016 Kia Optima from Ron Tonkin Kia in Gladstone. On August 29th 2026 Her car was stolen using the "Kia Boys" technique of smashing the window and ripping out the ignition, using a USB Key to drive off with the car. While that isn't news, it shouldn't have been possible. Kia issued a software update that would have stopped it. Kia also issued and update for a zinc sleeve for the ignition. Neither was completed on the car prior to my daughter buying it. There was no disclosure that it wasn't done either. No mention of it. A sane person would assume a 10 year old car would have had all the updates done by the dealership on intake of the car prior to selling it. Well, that's not the case. When I questioned it. The GM told me that "We would get in trouble with Kia if we even told the customer, it has to be initiated by the customer" I called Kia directly. Their customer service rep said that is false and that Kia encourages their dealerships to do the updates prior to the cars being resold. I understand why as it gives Kia a black eye. I've also noticed a trend.. Kia and Hyundai cars that are in the years that are easily stolen are turning up on Facebook's PDX Stolen cars page a lot, Here's where it ties in. They are all used Kia and Hyundai cars from Tonkin dealerships. These cars would likely not have been so easily stolen if the updates had been completed prior to the cars being sold. I am giving 2 stars because they did replace my daughter's window and ignition, and buffed out a few scratches on the car. I am grateful for that, but the car is still considered totaled due to the amount of damage that it sustained after it was stolen (over 10k worth). I am filing a complaint with the Oregon DOJ. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I would love to see a policy change at the family of dealerships. Maybe filing a complaint will force a policy change from the leadership.

This was just a couple hundred miles before my warranty expired, so I knew I needed to get it looked at immediately. I found Sun Auto Service through my CarMax warranty as a preferred vendor. The reviews were solid, so I chose them. The main person I worked with was Cody, and he was excellent. As a woman, it can be difficult to find an auto shop where you do not feel talked down to or pressured into unnecessary repairs. That was not my experience here at all. Cody was transparent and straightforward. He clearly explained what needed attention now versus what could wait a few months. No pressure, no condescension. They had my car for about two weeks, which I understand is normal given how many variables can cause starting issues like that. I explained that my warranty was about to expire and asked them to be thorough. They absolutely were. They identified nearly $3,000 worth of repairs, all of which were covered under warranty. They handled the entire claims process. I never had to contact the warranty company once. I simply paid my deductible and was on my way. Everything felt professional, organized, and above board. It has been about two weeks since I picked up my car and it is running perfectly. I would absolutely return if I ever needed service again. Highly recommend Sun Auto, and especially Cody.

First off, I made an appointment - my car was taken in on time and they finished working on it on time. I tried to buy full-synthetic but they pointed out I only needed a synthetic-blend (which was cheaper). I can't remember being downsold very often when my car is being worked on. Along with an oil change I had a 21 point inspection done. My car checked out with one issue. Rather than paint it as an emergency, the guy I spoke with said there's no rush to fix it, but I should consider it down the road. They provided me with a quote should I decide to bring it back to have them fix the issue. Oh yea, and the cost was comparable to the common chain locations that are known for lacking in quality. To sum it up, I don't see why I'd go anywhere else for basic maintenance. True professionals, competitive pricing, honest advice.
