Their snowbuns were the highlight of the meal, paired easily with the coffee afterwards. Not sure what was in the soup or congee, but it was super addicting!

Located in the center of U.P. Town, the modern styled restaurants boasts mouthwatering appetizers and entrees to be followed up by perfectly sweet beverages that would make even Gordon Ramsay cower...maybe. Out of all the amazing dishes, the highlight has got to be the Crispy Pork Bun. A nice twist to the snack that I consider Siopao, the crunch to the bun really made all the difference for me. Highly recommend. My favorite entree has got to be the chicken filler curry. I've had my fair share of curries in my lifetime, and this is in the top...maybe four? Something I'd order again. Onto the drinks- for dessert I had the Okinawa Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Dude...what the f-word did they put in this Godsent drink? It was unbelievably good for someone with a sweet tooth like mine. Absolutely emptied the cup in like 5 minutes. If you have you to get any kind of dessert, get this one. Service was amazing! It's honestly what put it over the top for me and got me to write a review. Chinese food has always been amazing, but this one is definitely for the books.

Let me start by saying that I didn't expect much. Afterall, this restaurant is attached to a…read moregrocery store and isn't situated within one of Manila's fancy malls. Soooo...yeah. That said, my parents who visit the Philippines more often than I do swear by this place. When I said I wanted Chinese food for lunch, they suggested Luk Foo, and my uncle agreed that Luk Foo was a great option. I wasn't sold but considering that traffic in Manila SUCKS and my uncle lives in the subdivision right next door, it really wasn't up to me. Well, I WAS WRONG to assume it was going to be a subpar meal. Luk Foo has some of the best Chinese food I have ever had. Clean dining room, attentive wait staff and great food - can't really ask for more than that, especially from a Chinese restaurant that is attached to a grocery store. Really. We ordered chicken pansit. Noodles were cooked PERFECTLY. I hate mushy noodles which happens more often than not. The chef at LuK FOo has his noodle game on point. We ordered sweet and sour lapu lapu, spicy salt and pepper spare ribs, ampalaya and beef, some shrimp dish, taro puff (the best I've ever had) and something else I can't remember. I love dim sum and order taro puff every time I have dim sum...and Luk Foo has the BEST taro puff. Perfect crispy outside with generous filling of taro and beef. Even my mom who is typically not a fan of taro puff, loved it. Win. We ordered 7 dishes for less than P3,000. So worth it. In fact, it was a bargain by our American standards. Will be back for sure.

I wouldn't consider myself that old, but, in my young life, I have tasted quite an array of Chinese food. Too many to count. At any rate, I wouldn't expect to be surprised by sitting at dinner before a host of yet untasted Chinese cooking. A meal at Luk Foo proved my expectations wrong. In other Chinese restaurants, dishes may vary in taste but one can say that there is a certain uniformity in the menu. Luk Foo breaks this pattern of uniformity. They have a way of cooking meat, fish, shrimps and vegetables in ways that are original. For instance, they succeed in giving their Seafood Tofu Soup a taste that is exquisite: light and delicious. The same goes for their Steamed Garlic Fish Fillet with Eggplant and Lohan with Beancurd Vegetables. So before you say seen it all, tasted it all, visit Luk Foo.
