When it comes to Chinese food, Luyong's is a household name in Marikina. It has many branches within the city but my favorite is the one in Shoe Avenue. This branch may not have air-conditioner, but it is the one nearest my place and is the original branch of Luyong's. As they say, nothing beats the original. That adage may not be true all the time, but for Luyong's it may be.
Luyong's is famous for its different types of pansit - bihon, canton, miki, with lechon or without. I've tried their pansit quite a number of times since childhood. Until now, their pansit has been consistently tasty.
But a new favorite of mine is their siomai. I've tasted it at the home of a Chinese friend. Their version of this popular Chinese food is a rice ball with pork inside. It is probably the best siomai I've ever tasted. No sauce needed.
