We saw their regular customers being offered a cup of tea while we just sat there with no drinks. I saw other customers who didn't seem to be regulars that also didn't get drinks. We started with a pedicure and it was the most uncomfortable pedicure we've got. The girl who did my friend's put HOT WATER in the tub and nearly burned my friend's feet. The tubs aren't attached to the chair so it kept moving and we had to put our weight on it to keep it steady. Clearly it was not a relaxing time for us. We then moved onto our gel manicure. They seemed to have lots of colour options but they actually didn't have quite a number of them in stock. Best to check with them before picking a colour. The ladies who did mine and my friend's manicure cut our fingers but didn't even apologize for it and didn't put rubbing alcohol to prevent infection. They just proceeded with the rest of procedures with the blood on our fingers... It was also the most expensive manicure we've got for a simple one colour gel manicure. I wouldn't recommend this place to my friends and wouldn't come back here again...

Make sure you call ahead because Sassi is usually booked up, and with good reason - I've never had…read morea better manicure. They cover a full range of manicure and pedicure options, and every treatment that I've had has been done to perfection. Even if you just go in for a basic file and polish, they do it so carefully and with absolute precision, and the manicure comes with a killer hand massage. Equal to the results you get is the service. The women working at Sassi are so friendly and polite, and obviously make a real effort to keep the salon looking clean and fresh, and stocked with plenty of new, quality mags (always vital!). The products are OPI-based and they stock a full range of OPI products including Gelcolours and the ever-delicious Avojuice. They also do a mean Shellac and offer all those extensiony fake things too. The prices are at the higher end, but it's superb value for money. Don't forget to pick up a loyalty card when you pay - you'll be back!

It's a relatively small space but they've made the most of it with mani pedi stations downstairs and private therapy rooms upstairs. I don't normally book massages but I had been given a voucher to Spring Day Spa for my birthday and having read the reviews on Yelp, could not wait to use it. Taking Neera J's advice I booked a private room for a 60min massage. My therapist, Alex, was fantastic! I'm often hesitant to ask for deep tissue massages at days spas because most of the time, the pressure is too light but this was not the case here! I left feeling so relaxed - all the tension from my neck, back and shoulders had dissipated. I will most definitely be back! Highly recommend.

I'd been in dire need of a massage for months... After a few days straight of migraines and a long…read moreweekend with no plans, I decided to treat myself and get a massage and pedicure. A friend recommended this place, the sister spa to East Day Spa (apparently), at a lower price point. The massage was incredible. My therapist was a sweet French woman who was a wonder. Sadly it sounds like she'll be moving on soon, but if you can get in before she leaves, don't hesitate!!! My back feels wonderful!!! The pedicure was also great. Not sure if it's a "thing" here in NZ, but they didn't have any nail driers. So don't do what I did and forget your flip flops and have to wear the cheap throwaways all the way home on the bus (fail). Here's what kept it from 5 star status - the setup is a bit bizarre. If you want a "private" massage it's an extra $20. Otherwise you're in what they call a "pod", where they draw curtains around the table and it's pretty private but there are some pretty significant gaps. Awkward when you're stripping down to your skivvies for the massage. I was able to completely relax once I was in massage mode, but a bit weird because you can hear people chatting right next to you getting their nails done. If that's going to be a problem, splurge for the private space. More of a problem was the smell of nail polish while you're breathing deep into your massage. Icky. They need a bit better ventilation or something. Or keep the spaces separate. That said, as others have commented, the ambiance is nice and chilled out and the music was pretty perfect. I'd go back, and maybe splurge for the private, fume free space.
