Staff are very friendly and loved to help you with your good selection if you get stuck because of their variety! Oysters were fresh, wine was nice, food was beautifully presented and delicious! The inside is totally not what you expect. Don't be put off from this place, because its in Remuera and gives that upperclass vibe. The inside of Banque, is totally comforting and relaxing. Theres wonderful warm decor and an inside fire. Its a great place to have lunch or dinner with a glass of wine. My dining partner and I went for a quiet Friday lunch. Banque's menu is designed for sharing. The menu has a slight Asian flavour. I would def recommend having the Bluff oysters and diamond shell clams. They were served with a delicious dipping sauce. Obviously Bluff oysters are only served to season, so if you have the chance to eat them, try them! I wouldn't normally order any kind of pizza, but seeing it was a pizza bread it was a good choice for a filler, but tbh it was really tasty. The dough was super soft and flavour was great. The other two dishes were just a bit bland and lacked the same flavour excitement as the other dishes. I would recommend for Banque to just add more flavour to the ribs instead of just covering them in hoisin sauce. Although i think its a great idea serving lamb ribs as its pretty rare on other restaurant menus. Service was great, lovely guy who served us and I think i may have even tipped him. Would def recommend coming here, for good food, great atmosphere and service. Also good value for money, but Banque features in the Entertainment book if you want a good deal. I just finished hiking almost 10 miles to Rangitoto volcano so I was happy to sit at the kitchen counter . Selection of NZ and Oz beers but nothing great that I tried. The staff go beyond the standard salutations and engage in friendly conversation with customers, without interrogating them or becoming unprofessional. Platters coming out of the kitchen look enticing and are handled with skill by the waiters. A couple of days later, there wasn't a trace of the St. Patrick's Day carnage and the sunny courtyard only held the sound of an Irish fiddler. Fantastic.

I apologized and prepared to pay the difference. She said it would be $13, and when I went to pay the difference she said no $13 more because she already made the other drink. I didn't know it was my job to police what she was pouring when I was very sober and clearly stated my order. I was solo and only needed one drink. She didn't even apologize. Great atmosphere, but I won't be back.

It's a quirky little bar that flaunts cringe worthy 90's hits out into K rd with reckless disdain. If you don't tap your feet to the music all the way to the bar, you're sure to catch yourself mumbling the chorus of the song. Cheap beer, cozy seats, music video clips to cringe and reminisce and friendly staff. While the bar only offers hot nuts to nibble on, the staff happily offered to collect hot chips from a near-by store if I needed. Eagle Bar caters to groups and, while I have seen fun dress-up parties and stag nights here, you can still converse without shouting (until it gets a bit later in the evening). There is even a piano and a Mona Lisa that adds to this distinctive bar without feeling forced and tacky.

And Danny Doolans happened to be right next door. The only choice in seafood I could spot was the pan fried fish of the day. It was so dark in there I couldn't really see what I was eating. The fish was sitting on top of some sort of cream sauce with diced tomatoes. The server said the fish was of a local variety similar to cod. However, because the music was so loud I couldn't hear what the name was clearly. I'd say it was okay. The price was around $30.

Take care not to use the wrong entrance if you do decide to go to Pony. Upon our arrival the club was pretty empty but my group of 15 friends and I made a party out of it. We danced everywhere, dropped it low and picked it right up in every corner of the club. I loved the fact that it was empty because it meant that we had a larger dance floor and it made it seem like we had hired the club for a private party. The club has space and has these awesome seats/booths along the sides of the room, they are perfect for getting cosy with a loved one or someone you want to get to know. They are always a perfect place to sit when a group decides to take shots. The set up of the room is fantastic as the bar is the first thing you see when you get there so you sort of get a drink then hit the floor. Plus the DJ is amazing, he did not mind the countless requests from my group and even played some Afro (African) tunes, where he got them I don't know.
