I had surgery last week and booked my stay here. Unfortunately I did not have the best experience…read morethat I expected to have. One thing started off bad was that I was not picked up by the staff they just called me an Uber and I was waiting at the airport for over 30 minutes. They say that they take you to all your appointments and drop off your prescriptions and everything you need is taken care of. After my surgery I had a complication and I needed to go back to the clinic. Max had told me she would drop me off but I was responsible for the ride back. This is three days after surgery. I was heavily medicated and could hardly function on my own. I was crying and very upset and had to call myself an Uber to take me back to the house. The traffic is so bad that each way is about an hour even though it's only 12 miles away from the clinic I went to. Then I needed to drop off an additional prescription. She told me she was not going to take me there or drop off the prescription for me and I would have to do it on their own and Uber. I'm walking around in a nightgown heavily medicated stumbling at Walgreens. I developed necrosis after my surgery I asked everyone that was there if it looked normal and they said it was fine I was just part of my healing process. I didn't feel that was accurate. Clearly they aren't experienced or knowledgeable about any type of surgical complications that can happen. They barely even had any supplies that I needed. They have different people working different shifts. It's only one person at a time. It's very hard to get a hold of anyone when you need them. It felt like I was being a nuisance every time I had to call someone to get me something or help me get up out of bed. Every time I needed some thing it seems like nobody knew where anything was. They don't even provide you with a towel and you have to bring your own. They do not have a paging system where you can call for help. They expect you to use your cell phone to send a text message whenever you need them to come for assistance. They say there's 24/7 care however in the middle of the night they're sleeping and there were multiple times where I needed help and had to sit there and text and call when I could hardly move my arms or see straight. They should have someone available to you to help you in the middle of the night. The last day I was there I was crying and begged for the lady to pick up my prescription that I had to drop off on my own. They gave me the feeling that I was all alone and we're not comforting at all. There is one girl name Kendra and she was very nice. Also yvonne was very nice, however again I just felt like it was disorganized and nobody knew where anything was and it was hard to get a hold of them. I really was bothered by the fact that I had to call my own ride to drop off a prescription and get myself back from the clinic. I spent days crying because of my situation and it was almost like they were dismissive of my situation and tried to tell me that I was fine like I was just overreacting. After I got back home I went to the emergency room and I had a severe situation that is requiring me to have reconstructive surgery. I don't know if this is how all the recovery houses are in Miami but unfortunately I cannot recommend this place for someone to recover.

I communicated with Yaite via text/phone a few weeks before to hash out pricing, how long I would…read morebe staying and everything the fee included. I was nervous since I had never done something like this before and it seemed like a pretty big deal to me. I then texted the same number Friday, Feb 23rd to let her know I was still coming. I arrived on Sunday, February 25th one day before my procedure. That morning before my plane took off I again texted her to let her know that I was on my way and what time my plane would land. I also verified the address of the recovery house. (which is the address that is stated here on Yelp and several other places online, a place about 10-15min away from Miami Airport) I was told they have personal drivers but the car that picked me up at the airport was an Uber driver. He confirmed the address with me and I had to call Yaite because our addresses didn't match. The house he took me to was at 13147 SW 284th St Homestead, FL. Look it up, it is about 1hr and 10min (south) from the airport. (if you are lucky and traffic isn't crazy) The drive over there was an ordeal in itself. You start to panic a bit since you all you start seeing at some point is rows and rows of palm trees. I was already on edge about the change of location and how far it was-it would have been nice to have been told the ACTUAL address instead of just saying yes when I sent the Miami address. The house itself is really nice and clean. No complaints there. The house has 2 bathrooms and 3 rooms. 2 rooms with 2 beds apiece and the other room has 4 beds in it. You quickly figure out that if someone gets breast implants or a tummy tuck they are gonna be in the living in a recliner. Which wouldn't be so bad except that I can't imagine being able to get rest with all the lights getting turned on at all hours of the day. Once I got there Elena was the true beacon of my stay. She immediately took me in and started on the task of feeding me. She was very attentive and I could tell I would be in good hands once my procedure happened her attentiveness is what convinced me to stay. The day wore on and drama started happening. One of the ladies there somehow got into it with Elena and Elena decided she had enough and wanted to leave. (crazy, I know) I tried to focus on the reason I was there and stayed in my room. That's another thing, depending on how considerate your roommate is determines some of the comfort. My first night there my roommate turned on the light at 3am to get ready and made all kinds of noise. The first night after my surgery she turned it on around 4am and I wasn't able to fall asleep again. With Elena gone Marilady (spelling?) the lady who is the owner stayed periodically to take care of us and cook. They replaced Elena with Marlene. She did a great job being a caretaker. Everything else was questionable. My surgery ended at 11:45am. The recovery house was informed I was ready and I wasn't picked up for a long time. Around 2pm I couldn't handle the pain anymore so I called myself. I was told the driver was very near. At 3pm a driver arrived. My nurse was very angry since it seemed like they had sent a random (clueless) Uber driver to come pick me up. No blankets/pillows etc. He just wanted me to lay face first on the back seat of his tiny 4 door. My nurse wouldn't release me and angrily called Marilady informing her she had to come pick me up herself. Keep in mind that I am going back and forth into the building with no PAIN MEDS. Finally at 4pm I was picked up. I screamed and cried the whole hour back to the recovery house. We got there at 5pm and I was so angry and in pain that they ended up giving me some Percocets. (never figured out where they came from and honestly at that moment I didn't care) I demanded they fill my prescriptions and at first they wanted to pacify me by saying they would do it "later" since they had already given me pain medication. I put my foot down and by 8:30pm I had my meds. That was the recurring theme the whole week I was there by the way. There were ladies who literally waited OVERNIGHT to get their pain pills after their procedures. They only have one driver and that poor man can't possibly drop off/pick up patients AND fill prescriptions in a timely manner. We helped each other out and lended out pain pills to the ladies who were in pain because their prescriptions hadn't been filled. The meals that were made were delicious and homemade but there were a few days where we ate late and a meal or 2 I made on my own. Some of us were taken care of in terms of being helped to the restroom and others that weren't. They have a massage therapist (Marilady's mom) that comes to do the lymphatic massages in house. That was convenient and the lady is really nice but recovery houses closer to all the plastic surgery centers and IN Miami also offer that service. There were pluses but all the negatives (disorganization being a HUGE factor) is the reason for the sub par review.

My surgery date was May 9 2018 (bbl) I confirmed the day before on when my surgery time was. They were also called when I was done surgery. When I woke up the driver was already there waiting for me. Ladies the drive back is a little long. I was in agony but... not pain where I was crying. When I got to the house I was helped by the driver and one of the care takers and taken to my room. I was very fortunate to have a room to myself for 3.5 days. When I arrived my bed was ready with adult pads so you do not need to purchase them. My night table had a bowl of fruit, a bag of saltine crackers, a bottle of water, and a bottle of Gatorade. Make sure you have your ID, money or debit and insurance card. I was helped on the bed. Which was also very comfy. It took about a 1.5 hours for my medication to get filled and brought to me. After I finally got my meds I was good to go. Throughout your time there you will meet 3-4 care takers as they are on different shifts. They were all AMAZING. They always checked up on me. They helped me with everything I needed. They were extremely patient. We all had great conversations. I loved them. They made me great meals. I have no complaints. I booked this place very nervously because the nasty reviews people left. I just said f it. I can afford this place. I was pleasantly surprised and would recommend this recovery home to anyone. Also the house is beautiful on the water. There was ducks and momma ducks and baby ducks around the property. So effing cute lol

I stayed at Charm from 7/23 to 7/30 and this was the best part of my entire surgery experience. I had no idea what kind of care to expect and was quite scared of the entire process, but I was blown away with every single person I dealt with at Charm. I don't speak Spanish and most of the ladies didn't speak English but they had translator apps ready and we communicated well. Language was no barrier at all. I learned a few Spanish words, they learned some English ones and we had lots of laughs. I paid for a private room with shared bathroom which was perfect for me. Everything was so clean and comfortable. I stayed the night before my surgery so when I needed to go, they woke me up and got me an Uber to go to my surgery. Maria then picked me up after I was done and took me back to Charm. The amount of care they showed me still gives me goosebumps just thinking about how great they were. When we got to the house they had additional people waiting all to help me inside and get me situated. Then they constantly checked on me and made sure I had food, water, medicine, TV, etc. I had a call button, which I used a lot since I couldn't get in or out of the chair or when I couldn't reach anything. There was not a single request I made that made me feel I was asking too much or I was a bother. I remember when I first had to use the restroom shortly after the surgery and I was standing there thinking to just let me die from this pain as I almost passed out, they were ready with rubbing alcohol spray bottles, holding me up and getting me through it. These women are Angels! I just can't thank them all enough! Adriana, Maria, Leidy, Loreidi, and the other 2 (I'm so sorry I didn't write those names down), I would not have survived this without you all and I am so thankful to you all. I hope I never need to have surgery like this again, but if I do, I will be back at Charm for sure.

The first day I arrived the owners agreed to pick me up at the clinic after my preop appt. When they got there they did have to wait for me 20 mins (I checked how long it was) because I was still not done with all my payment paperwork. When I got to the car I said hi to Alberto and Sisi and Sisi did not say anything to me, but Alberto did. He went to put my luggage in the back while I got in the car and I said hi to Sisi TWO MORE times and she still didn't say anything to me. Like I get it you're mad because you had to wait 20 mins but that's what I am paying you for and that's so UNPROFESSIONAL to not even greet your patient?! I let it go and tried to have a nice time there. Little did I know what was coming. All they did for me was feed me 3x times a day which I do admit the food was good but they would never come to my room to check on me to see if I needed help getting up from my chair which I did the first few days after my surgery. One day I even ended up crying of how frustrated I was that they never came to help me with anything, I felt so helpless. They never checked to see if I was taking my medication or if I needed help showering or dressing up after my shower. Putting on my compression socks would be such a pain in the butt. I believe they're the ones that should be coming to offer help and checking on you. Not the other way around. It didn't even look like they wanted to help. They're website promotes "a place of calmness and relaxation"?? Yeah right. They would have family dinners where other family members would come and they would be soooo loud with a baby crying and not once would they come and check on us, while they're over there hosting dinner parties?? Is this a place of business or what?? We are patients in pain and still gotta deal with all these noise? Not to mention they have an older lady that lives there too, she seems really sweet but she would have the TV on ALL the time SUPER LOUD. Sounded like you were in a theater. Like how is that ok? Not even in hospitals do they allow all that ruckus. I had plastic surgery a few years ago out of the country and also stayed at a recovery house and my experience was wayyyyyy different. The nurses there would be there with me all day, helping me shower, walking with me, checking the times to make sure I took all my medication when I was suppose to, and of course giving me my meals during the day. I definitely did not get this treatment here and would never recommend this place to anyone because you're basically on your own. I would also find it weird that the owner Sisi would be dressed in mini dresses, like why wouldn't you think to put on scrubs? If this is a place of business? Was not happy at all here.
