He may have been remiss to ask me for this ... But I have time today, Felix. Of course, I'm…read morerequired to give one star to leave a review, otherwise it would be closer to a -2!
Felix, owner of Dallas Paint and Body, charged $2,300+ for what he kept calling an "easy" repair. After 14 days (7/14/25-7/28/25), my car's value was more diminished from the repair than from the accident -- including yellowish discoloration, scratch indents beneath the paint, and new damage that wasn't there before.
When I went to pick it up the first time, I immediately saw the problems and left the car so they could fix it. I texted Felix photos and concerns. Instead of apologizing, he became combative over the phone, went on a rant, and then hung up on me -- telling me if I wanted to speak further, I had to come back to his shop.
Within 20 minutes, I returned to his shop, where he had a gun on his desk. Suspicious of who I was on the phone with or that I might be recording him, he demanded I get off the phone but insisted his assistant Maria stay in the office. I pretended to hang up but kept my cousin on the line anyway. He then launched into another rant -- about past "unloyal" customers (including a pastor who tried to sue him), about someone who had supposedly accosted his wife the night before, and more. I had to use law enforcement tactics to de-escalate him just to continue the conversation. Eventually, he apologized, saying he was stressed about what almost happened to his wife the night before, and agreed to resolve the unfinished repair. He told me to pick the car up the next day.
Within an hour, his assistant texted that I actually had to wait until Monday because of a "hiccup." That hiccup has never been explained. When I returned to pick up my car, I put items in the trunk from my rental and saw it had been disheveled, as if someone had been looking for a spare tire. I then noticed my tires had been rotated. When I asked Felix about it, he lied and said they had to go through the trunk to repair the damage. Later, I discovered paint on the damaged rim that was originally closest to where the repair was (the rear quarter panel) -- so it's more likely they went into the trunk to access tools to move the tires so I wouldn't see the paint splatter. It also became apparent why his text was trying to steer me away from the passenger rear tire.
I didn't want him to fix the rim (because he said he would have to take it off and send it to another shop), the discount he gave me -- supposedly because I was referred by a friend and he wanted to "take care of me" -- was less than what he originally promised. As he approached my car with his assistant, he handed me this reduced amount, arrogantly stating how he "took care of me," sarcastically warning me not to mess with him, and even requesting that I write a review. If he had given me $2, I would have gladly taken it just to be done with him.
Since Felix, I found a reputable body shop -- but they refused to complete the repair because they don't do work after other body shops. They told me they can't be sure there isn't more damage hidden underneath without fully disassembling the vehicle.
Bottom line: if you have a luxury vehicle, or if you simply value your car, your money, or your safety -- AVOID THIS PLACE, as the Better Business Bureau has!
