I visited this salon yesterday for braids. I accidentally went to the wrong address. I tried calling, no answer. I texted, advising I went to 171 S Front Street but didn't see 171. After a few minutes, I received a response from Ky, stating the address was 263 Front Street. I arrived shortly after. Because of the mixup, I knew I was late and had no problem compensating her for her time. I walked, said good morning, and apologized for being late. She was clearly annoyed, didn't say good morning and just said ok. I started to pay for the service and leave but after all that, I was getting my hair done. As I was sitting down, she asked if I read her text. I quickly glimpsed it and saw there was a $25 late fee, which was fine because I was late. The atmosphere was a bit harsh but I ignored it. As the morning went on, she started to lighten up and talk to me. She asked how I discovered them and I told her, I was a previous client from the 171 location. Even told her I recommended her services to other people I know. I regret that. She finished my hair rather quickly, did a beautiful job. However, her attitude overshadowed her talent. Even after her meeting with such rudeness, I was willing to not make a big deal out of it. I paid the late fee along with a tip. Once I got home and settled down, I read her text. I was instantly annoyed because who speaks to their customer this way. I'm willing to overlook a lot of things when it comes to small businesses and give them grace but disrespect isn't one of them. She has a lot to learn when it comes to effective communication. She's truly talented but her style of communication needs work. I don't spend money where I'm not respected. read more
