Terrible painters. They were hired to paint Salt apartments, & were super sloppy. Didn't prep or prime, used the wrong type of paint, so rust bled through on metal door frames. Paint all over the hall carpets. I would never recommend this company to anyone. On top of all that, the job was never finished. read more

And, they call themselves "repainting specialists with minimal interruptions"... This review is geared more towards their communicative skills than the paint job itself. We gave them a chance to fix to our satisfaction before writing this review: They recently re-painted our apt complex. First, the color palette has turned out a beautiful outcome overall (bonus star). They used the reputable Sherwin-Williams brand. They power-washed the stucco and roof beforehand. They did not prime or add enough coats of spraying paint, both on stucco and roof, just only on some doors. The low 1 star is the communications part. Some of us on the property had to remind the painters to touch up over the giant missing spots or cover up or clean up the sloppy splatters all over before they were hurriedly leaving for home. The work looked like some kid helping out made a mess. An employee from the leasing office had to flag down a painter on the property to point him towards the areas that needed re-painting over the splatters. A couple painters tried to enter 2 units (what about that "minimal interruptions" not to bother the tenants and think it's okay to enter with filthy paint-stained shoes?? Very awkward.) to enter the balconies to touch up instead of using the ladders and were told to use the ladder, and they did not bother to come back with the ladder (one painter told someone he would do the balconies a little later in the day but never did return). They were walking around with open buckets of paint and a roller out in the open and suppose they trip an fell and spilled paint all over the carpet, right? Another painter appeared utterly confused when we pointed at the missing spot that would take a second to paint over. It's like he didn't know no English and looked at his fellow painter like, "what?" as in what say, what want? Ugh. The owner of this company was telephoned a few times to have the painters return to finish the touch-ups, only 1, out of several areas left out, which was done during the touch-up week(s). That owner, Thomas, even mentioned that he himself would return to further touch up what his painters didn't do, and we saw none of that done. Perhaps he didn't want to make the drive up to north Phoenix from Tempe because they were pretty much done with the touch-ups in general? Maybe serve in the east valley only instead of general metro valley. I've seen some people on the property having to fix the job themselves on their own. Because there is such a thing as front-door and curb appeal. Words travel fast on the property because painting a building is expensive and we look out for our funds to be sure they're well-spent and be happy with a clean paint job, especially since we're taking pictures to promote the new look and attract decent people to come move in on the property. Many apt complexes in metro Phoenix have been revitalizing the building exteriors with various color palettes to keep within the competition, and we like to be sure our complex outshines them all to attract business and to get people to stay with us. No one likes to do business looking at sloppy incomplete works. To re-iterate, the exterior looks beautiful (because, as you know, a coat of any paint color can simply spruce up the former look on its own) in general minus the missing spots here & there and splatters here & there, but the communication among their staff needs improvement and they need better stamina to get the job assertively done. I am sure a lot of the fussiness and seemingly-anal commentary is due to not wanting the sloppy look to appear in photos / videos and publications when promoting the property. Remember, this is a business- not a private home. I also asked the company for the name of the new green palette (like on the paint chips) so I can pass this on to others who love the color and are, too, in the process of re-painting their exteriors, and no one knew the answer- they said they were too busy to find the file. Let's just say I am glad I don't own the building (but, I contributed with the funding). I don't think this company had the patience and understanding of having a formal relationship between clients and even homeowners / renters, when it comes to specific communications on the needs & wants when it comes to doing satisfactory work done. I think it's just a self-employment thing to them just to go around locally and sign a contract and paint and get paid for it and nothing more. Touch-ups is not hard or time-consuming and very common with all paint jobs... In concluding, you only earned a bonus star for an overall decent job done to help bring the building back to life, but then, sorry, you were given a chance to honor on your word to earn a higher rating :( read more

I was blown away by the quality of work Luxor provided. Couldn't be happier with their service. The price was very competitive and the final product was amazing. Everything they do is clearly spelled out in the contract so you know exactly what to expect. I now recommend them to all my friends. The job itself took about a week, but that was because Romano was doing all the work himself and made sure everything was done right. First Romano power washed to house to remove all the dirt, then scrapped all the loose paint off with a wire brush. Then he primed the entire house before putting the base on. Any minor repairs that were needed he took care of with wood filler. All the trim was extremely well done - perfectly straight lines. He even painted all my interior perimeter walls for a extramley resonible price. Any requests I made Romano was more than happy to accommodate, including repainting our letterbox in the new house colors. Thank you! read more

I hate writing negative reviews, mainly because any time I read a negative review it always seems like the person has unrealistic expectations or is just angry. However, I felt like this situation required a review, given my experience with Luxor. I received a Luxor postcard on my door and was in the process of wanting to get my house exterior painted, so I decided to reach out to them for a quote. I submitted a request online, and after about 4-5 days I received a voicemail from the office representative, Roxanne. Very nice message asking me to call back to schedule a time for the quote. I called back and left a voicemail regarding my availability. She called back one or two days later and left me another voicemail asking me to call again for a quote appointment. I called back that same day and had to leave her yet another voicemail stating that I was available any time later that day (it was 10am). The rest of the day goes by and I don't hear anything until approximately 5:30 PM when I get a call and am finally able to talk to Roxanne in person. Very nice on the phone, and she apologized for not getting back to me until so late. Despite requesting a Thursday appointment, I rearrange my work schedule to have the quote performed the following Monday. We arranged for a time of between 8 and 9 AM. I asked for the person to give me a call 10 minutes prior to arrival. Monday morning came and no one showed up. Didn't receive a phone call. I had finally needed to leave home around 9:50 to get to work, as I had already rescheduled my entire day to be home for the quote. I still have yet to hear anything from them. I get it. Stuff comes up. Schedules need to be changed. I travel to peoples' homes for a living also, but I also understand first and foremost that no one else's time is less important than my own. If I'm not going to make it on time, I at least call and let them know. It's a bummer, because Luxor has other very good reviews on yelp, which is why I wanted to receive a quote from them in the first place. However, even if they come back and apologize profusely, by this point I have lost all faith in this company that they will ever show up on time, be done with the job on time, or even do it correctly. Hopefully Luxor will read this and make the appropriate changes so they don't lose any additional customers in the future. read more

So incredibly pleased !! I needed the exterior of my house painted (per the HOA) and I was on a time crunch. I called the office and Thomas answered the phone and he gave me a quote the same day. I also had two other reputable companies give me quotes but Thomas came under the competitors by $200 for one and $400 the other. Thomas scheduled me right away when I told him I needed it done quickly and he gave me the reassurance that the "crew" would be out first thing Wednesday and should be done by Saturday. To my delight they were done all in one day leaving me with an impressive, beautifully painted home. Granted the home is a single story under 1277 sq feet but with the crew of about 5 men they worked quickly, professionally and respectfully around my property. This was the best experience I have had with work contracted. I always have reservations hiring companies to do work because it never comes out as well as I expected. This experience couldn't be different. Luxor came out quick and gave a super competitive quote to repaint the exterior of our home. Once deciding on them, they were out the next week and projected the work done in four days. It included stucco and drywall patch, caulking, main and trim color, scraping of chipped paint, cleanup etc. A large list but not only was it all completed but done exceptional. Our painters were Rhodolfo and Alfredo and they were awesome to work with. Super friendly and always went above and beyond to do the work as we wanted. Work was finished on time and came out better than envisioned. I would recommend these painters to anyone. Great job! read more

I can't review based off of work as I did not choose to move forward with this company but I can review based off of their ethics and slow follow-up. First off, it's really hard to take a company seriously who makes false claims and copies the contract wording from one of their competitors to use on their own estimates, and passes it along as their own. At least be a little original and don't boldly plagiarize word-for-word verbatim. I couldn't believe it when I received the quote! This really rubbed me wrong and got me questioning the company and the other things they say. On another note, they were very slow to getting me an estimate and it was not nearly as detailed as I'd hoped for. There is no excuse to wait several days to email it over when other companies were able to provide it same day. Luxor may do decent work, I can't say one way or the other, but it is a risk we were unwilling to take. read more
