I am writing this review to thank Taki whom I met at Luxfit. She is my favorite instructor. I have been a regular in her Strongfit class since 2022. I knew nothing about barbells and strength training. And Taki has been instrumental in making me confident in the gym with lifting weight safely. I particularly enjoy her personalized feedback. She makes the class challenging but social. She is strict and pushes you but is also the first one to say take it easy if you are not feeling your 100%. It's this rare quality to meet the student where they are keeps me coming back to the class. read more

I have worked with Taki as my trainer at LuxFit for over 3 years, and it was one of the best decisions I ever made! Taki brings a mix of expertise, motivation, humor, and kindness that makes her a joy to work with, and I'm stronger and healthier now than I have ever been thanks to her. Taki's expertise includes strength training, cardio, assisted stretching, and body awareness / proper form, and we work on all of them together. I also love the atmosphere at LuxFit's Hayes Valley location, particularly that it's a place where I can enjoy my workout outside in fresh air and in a fun neighborhood. I'm very grateful to Taki and LuxFit for making fitness accessible and fun! read more

Absolutely LOVE LuxFit. If you're looking for something outside the box and good vibes in the heart of San Francisco, I highly recommend you check them out. I've been training there the past months and I really appreciate the community, classes, open gym, trainers/coaches, and just being able to be outside in rain (they have areas to workout protected from the elements) or shine. I often hang out after a grab a bite or beverage at Ritual or the Epicurean Market right next door. Always great energy!! read more

During the pandemic, all the workout studios around Hayes Valley closed but Luxfit opened up in the outdoor Proxy space by Patricia's Green and has stayed strong since! For a workout in the neighborhood, it's a great option. They have open gym time, personal training and group classes scheduled throughout the week. I've been to several of the class types so far and have been impressed by the knowledge and friendliness of each instructor I've tried! Other than training, this location has assisted stretching (Revive) and physical therapy. They also throw community events every so often and those are always fun to hit up! read more

I'm 62 and don't do gyms. Crap music, waiting for gear, and rip off promos ( yeah, you CRUNCH). As you can tell, I get grouchy. Not at LUXFIT! Big difference. Super helpful and present staff. I appreciate that. I get tired and can't find this or need help with that. It is a very cool location on Hayes, open air, no walls, plenty of gear constantly being cleaned... I like the young PATIENT staff. Even when I bitch about the music. (they play some Metal just for me now and then). Maybe you will be lucky to score Yotam. He has made all the difference. Patient, knowledgeable and non-judgmental, Yotam is my first successful trainer. I have serious back issues and I feel safe pushing for better with Yotam. He clearly knows what to focus on and improve. Thx Bud. read more

Awesome location outdoors in middle of Hayes Valley. All sort of personal instructors. Friendly staff. I learned more about working out and building muscle in 45 days than I have elsewhere. Feel good and look great! read more

LuxFit SF is a hidden little outdoor gym. It's changed my life! Grown to love the outdoor gym and push you to workout during all weather conditions. Everyone is great and there are so many options of training styles to choose from. I've tried personal training several times in so cal and they just don't have the overall package so I was skeptical when I inquired but ended up loving it- I train with Nate. New challenges weekly, he is not annoying and he puts my weights away. Life doesn't get better. Thank you Nate!! See you when I'm back in SF!! Thank you LuxFitSF for the great community! It's wonderful here. read more

I joined LuxFit SF (Hayes Valley location) because Anthony Vogt, my personal trainer, joined them back in 2021. If there's any top reason to give LuxFit a go, it's because of its trainers and the qualities they bring regarding their expertise and mission. I've been with Anthony for almost a year now - the results have been nothing short of amazing and life-changing for me in many ways. He's patient, yet stern; kind and funny, yet is never afraid to tell it like it is. I feel lucky knowing that Anthony's the one to lead me on this adventure in fitness and self-improvement. But to be fair, everyone I've interacted with at LuxFit have been really friendly and approachable. I enjoy the banter I have with Brandon and the encouragement I receive from other trainers as I really push myself during my sessions. As for LuxFit Hayes Valley: The space is really nice! The gym, being outdoors, was an unexpected big plus as I didn't know how I felt at first about working out in an open-air (and public) environment versus inside a curated, manicured space. You wouldn't know it by looking at it, but the gym really has all the equipment one would need for a full-body workout. I've been to their East Cut location twice, but for LuxFit-hosted events. One day I'll have a workout session over there, at which point I'll report back! But yes, LuxFit hosts community events and they are pretty awesome. My TL;DR: LuxFit SF is totally worth the experience. You'll work with amazing, knowledgeable trainers (extra props to Anthony, my PT!!), and get your workout on while outside the entire time. Maybe I'll see you at Hayes Valley in the future - I'll definitely be here for awhile! read more

If you're considering a personal trainer and wondering if it's worth it - you should do it. Start with 5 sessions and see how it goes. The LuxFit team is top notch, you will get results. Yotam helped me put on 8 lbs of lean muscle in 12 months measured by DEXA scan. Maybe not a realistic goal for everyone but anything is possible if you put in the work with a great coach to guide you on the journey. Everything you want in a gym, group fitness, or personal training is here. Get after it! read more

If you're looking for a great outdoor gym option, check out LuxFit SF! I started coming here as my amazing trainer Alex is working out of this gym. I met Alex through Equinox and she's at this gym now and it's got a great environment. The other trainers and the owner Yotam are always friendly and shouting "Hello!" as I come into the gym. When Alex is kicking my ass on the row machine, I can hear them cheering me on and telling me I'm killing it. It sounds cheesy, but these small things honestly go a long way. There's plenty of parking (meter and 2-hour street parking) in the area. They have all the equipment you would need, water, restrooms, etc. THEY ALSO ALLOW DOGS. And there are so many cute dogs, which is just the best. And if you're looking for a great trainer, check out Alex! alexcasiniwellness@gmail.com She is also a nutritionist which is honestly the other half of the battle to getting in shape. I became super out of shape because of Covid and I really didn't have the confidence to go to a gym and didn't really know where to start. I've been seeing Alex and going to LuxFit for about 2 months straight now and I'm already feeling so much happier and healthier than I was feeling! read more

Been going for over a month and I'm very much enjoying the space, equipment and convenience; all the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. Tae Woo is also a great fit for my health goals/personal training... Just don't stop allowing dogs in the gym - it's awesome seeing them in the mornings! read more

I am not a exercise person but I love luxfit. They make the classes so much fun and they are great at correcting your form while you do the exercises in group classes. read more

LuxFit is a great addition to Hayes Valley; having lived in the neighborhood for the last 15 years, I was excited when they opened and became a member. Very friendly staff and very high quality equipment. If you're looking for a great gym with great equipment and want to work outside (and grab a cup of coffee before or after), this is a great option. read more

Luxfit is a great outdoor gym in the heart of Hayes valley. Its outdoor and break to workout with a good set of equipment. I train with Anthony who is a great trainer. He is a great motivator and always supports me to push my limits every session. I have been working out with him for ~8 months and I have really seen my body transform. Highly recommend Anthony and Luxfit to everyone looking for a healthier and fitter lifestyle. read more

Haven't written a review in a while but LuxFit warrants coming out of review retirement! Great outdoor space which is unusual for SF but the vibe is unbeatable. It is right by Patricia's Green in Hayes Valley so the area generally has a vibrant atmosphere and I look forward to working out there. Well stocked for my sessions with my trainer, Anthony. Working out with him has been the transformation my fitness journey was due. He gauges energy, rest levels- it never feels like it is easy-peasy- the right level of challenging but keeping in line with your ability to feel good after the workout versus wiped out for the rest of the day. It also helps when you can talk about food, movies and travel with your trainer which makes the sessions wholesome! Highly recommend Anthony and if you see me there swinging the kettlebell like a pro, it is because of him! read more

I've been training at LuxFit in Hayes Valley for a few months and can't say enough good things about the experience. The space is great, with high quality equipment and super knowledgable trainers. I've been working with Corrine and highly recommend her! If you have any lingering COVID concerns, it's also wonderful to be able to work out outside. I second another reviewer who said exercising outside is uplifting mentally as much as physically. Everyone at LuxFit is incredibly friendly -- it feels more like a real community than a gym. I genuinely look forward to my time there every week! read more

Brandon will change your life! Hard to think of a higher ROI investment in yourself than training with him at this gym, regardless of your current skill level. I was pretty active before coming here (had run a few marathons, lifted weights, taken weight training PE classes in college, etc.) but learned way more than I bargained for about the fundamentals of weight training over the course of six months with Brandon. I now feel confident in my technique across a huge range of exercises, which goes a long way toward feeling safe and challenging myself at weight levels that previously would have felt intimidating. I now feel like I've established a new baseline level of fitness which I can continue to grow off of, on top of feeling and looking healthier. On top of all that, the vibe at LuxFit can't be beat (especially in the warmer months), and there's a real sense of community unlike other gyms I've been to. Highly recommend! read more

I started going to LuxFit once the pandemic rolled around and I wanted a spacious, outdoor spot for working out. I quickly realized there are so many more things about LuxFit that make it great and now my favorite place to get a workout in. The trainers are really friendly, there's a fair amount of equipment, and the group classes are awesome. I specifically love Alex's class--it's a great mix of cardio, conditioning, and strength. Not to mention, Alex really makes sure to provide individual attention and help you with form and pushes you to do a little more than the last time. Love LuxFit. Definitely check it out! read more

I did personal training with Yotam Israeli for almost a year. I can't recommend LuxFit and its trainers enough. Through visible and measurable results I feel more confident about my body and am very happy with the progress that I made through my session in Yotam in terms of strength and endurance. Besides, focusing on proper form and the right exercises for my goals Yotam was always open to my questions about nutrition and establishing habits through set workout schedules to do by myself. I'm looking forward to return to LuxFit and my sessions once my work+travel schedule opens up again. Until then, I can continue to make progress on my goals by myself with the fundamentals and the baseline that I learned from the LuxFit folks. read more

I really enjoyed the classes. The instructors and the team were professional and helpful. I recommend LuxFit SF to anyone who wants to have great experience. read more

I really enjoyed my first experience in this beautiful outdoor gym! The trainers had a careful eye as I worked out. Great atmosphere and awesome community! read more

Great gym! Being outside in the fresh air is so nice and the trainers here will give you real results, fast. Everyone is super friendly.

I've been working out at LuxFit SF for a little over a month now, and it's been a great experience. I initially reached out over their website and met with the owner Yotam. He was super friendly in the initial discussion and really listened to understand what I was looking for in terms of fitness goals. He ended up suggesting 3 different trainers as options, and I set up a consultation with Melissa. Working out with Melissa has been great! She has been great about listening to what I need but also pushing me when I need it. She is incredibly knowledgable and does a great job of explaining how different exercises help with my larger fitness goals. I also feel like I can be honest with her about some of my less-than-healthy habits, and she gives me tips for small tweaks I can make here and there outside of the gym to help with those. Overall -- love the outdoor gym (feels very safe with COVID!), love the community vibe (Yotam seems to greet everyone by member by name everytime I'm there!), love that the trainers are legit and seem really happy with the setup, love the music, and am looking forward to continuing to work out there! read more

I love a good and fun workout, and LuxFit definitely has it all! I've visited both the Hayes Valley and East Cut location and took classes with Alex and founder Yotam. Really great vibes from everyone and all the attendees here. And they do care about your form here which is extremely important when going to a workout class. Everything is clean and the community is wonderful. If I still lived in San Francisco, this would be my go-to spot! Thanks LuxFit team! read more

Working out at LuxFit has been a fantastic experience! The energy and people have been so inviting, even for someone like me who is famously intimidated by gym settings. I got matched with Keani, who is the best trainer I could ask for. I'm not very confident at the gym, but working with Keani has been changing that quickly! She brings such an authentic and warm energy to training. She always checks in on how things are feeling for me throughout our sessions and listens to and thoughtfully incorporates my training goals into the plan. She's the perfect blend of challenging and compassionate! Highly recommend working with Keani if you want to build up strength and endurance. read more

I have been working out with Corey since October 2020 and when he moved over to LuxFit, I followed. Corey is very knowledgeable, professional, and makes you feel super comfortable no matter where you are on your fitness journey. My workouts are the highlight of my day and have kept me sane during these tough times! LuxFit is an outdoor spot supplied with all the equipment you could possibly need for a full-body workout. Everyone is super friendly!! Always go out of their way to greet you and tell you to have a good day (rarely happened at my previous gym). I sometimes have to take my 8 year-old daughter with me and they know her by 1st name Corey goes out of his way to keep her entertained while also training me!! Invest in yourself and get you a trainer at LuxFit!!! Lastly, I come in from Oakland and it is a super easy drive in with free parking. read more

TL;DR - Awesome personnel, covid safety held to highest standards, Aristotle is knowledgeable and excellent, pays attention to detail. Get ready to work your butt off and get stronger. Context: Been a member since Feb 2021 - 3x per week, personal training from Aristotle (see coach review below). The Gym: LuxFit is fantastic in that it provided essential equipment for full body fitness outdoors. Plus the location is one of the best neighborhoods in San Francisco. The staff there is super friendly, very helpful and genuinely caring for your fitness. It feels like working out with knowledgeable buddies as opposed to corporate-y personnel that we find at "chain-brand" gyms. So no more smelly indoor gyms and un-cooperative staff. LuxFit has raised the bar in member satisfaction. Covid Safety: Temperatures get measured every time you work out, masks mandatory, sanitizing surfaces happens after every client / workout. No laxity, no complaints, safety is paramount. Mr. Aristotle Daphnis: Great coach, very knowledgeable about fitness and related physiology. Explains, teaches and inspires. He pays attention to form every time without fail. He is excellent at isolating muscle groups that need to be focused for each given exercise making sure you are stable, strong and get the most out of your workout. Plus has an excellent sense of humor and a dope playlist. Highly recommend Aristotle and LuxFit. read more

I love working out outside! And I love LuxFit. The staff are friendly without being invasive. Yotam was super helpful getting me started (it had been a long time since I'd been to a gym): he was very respectful of my fitness goals and my limitations, and he set me up with a great program that works well for me. I joined for COVID safety, but I'm staying for the friendly, helpful staff and the unexpected pleasure of working out in the fresh air. read more

Love this gym! Can't get enough of lifting outside, friendly staff and great equipment!

This is an AMAZING gym! The real reason it's so awesome is the people who work there. It's the community. But yeah all the other stuff real quick: They have all the equipment you need. (And of course a bunch of equipment you're not familiar with that you can try out!) It's outdoors so you can breathe a bit easier with everything going on. There are classes included with membership. They're great classes, a bunch of great options every day. I usually do one class a week and 2 days of strength training. And it's very conveniently located. (I usually go to the one in Hayes.) But it's the people. That's the real reason to choose this gym. Brandon, Angela, Tae, Anthony, Fatima, Alex, Fabbi, Arista - and of course Yotam and Amber. I know I'm even missing people from this list. Everyone who works there helps to set an amazingly positive tone. They are all friendly and encouraging, without exception! They are there to answer questions, give you a spot, help you with a new movement to try, and also to just leave you alone if you're there to do you're own thing. If you're like me, sometimes the hardest part of sticking with a fitness practice is feeling motivated to go; and these are people you want to go hang out with during your workout. They make you want to go to the gym even on the days when you're not feeling great about it. Their example sets the tone for the other members, so even the other people working out are all friendly and encouraging. And the other members are a great variety of people! Wide range of ages, men and women, and a range of experience - some who are very advanced and there push themselves, others who are just starting out and working with a trainer to get started. I don't think it matters where you are on your fitness journey, I think this place will make you feel welcome. That's what it was for me, anyway. I sort of hate to leave such a glowing review, because I'd love for this to stay my secret, but these folks deserve to succeed and grow. Come work out with us. (Okay but fair warning beware Angela's DRIIP class that lady KICKS MY BUTT every Sunday. ) read more

This place isn't just a gym -- it's a *community* and a *family*. I started working out here as one of the first members during the pandemic, and it's just amazing to see how it's grown. From the classes, to the equipment, to the service, to the people, to the trainers - I've made more gains more quickly than ever before. But more importantly, I've felt like the folks at Lux quickly became integral parts of my fitness family, encouraging me, supporting me and generally just being great humans. No matter what your fitness level, I highly, highly recommend LuxFit in Hayes (and check out their East Cut location too). read more
