Purchased a new Submariner 3 wks ago. They treated me like gold. I called the store where I made the purchase for an appraisal document. My homeowners is requires the document. The person I spoke with at the store is telling me that the bill of sale will suffice. My insurance company is telling me that they want an appraisal. The person at the store just told me the appraisal would cost me 100.00. I can't believe I dropped over 10k for a watch that took 25 months to get and these people treat me like that after the sale. I was introduced to Lux Bond & Green in Glastonbury after reconnecting with their store manager, Mark Burns. I met Mark over 10 years ago while shopping for an engagement ring when he was working for a different jeweler. So while my 5 star review here may come across mostly as a review of Mark, it most certainly is reflective of this store's values, principles, and passion in the jewelry industry. Mark is a true asset to this store with his knowledge, passion, and no pressure sales aspects. 10 years back, Mark made the "new-to-me" diamond purchasing experience incredibly easy, including a crash course in Diamond Shopping 101, despite my introductory statement that I was not purchasing anything on that given day. Prior to that visit, I stopped in a couple other jewelry stores and experienced what eventually became obvious as commission based sales, which were terrible pitches for attempting to get me to spend as much as I could afford, and more, on a diamond. After that, I started out subsequent jewelry store visits with "I'm not purchasing anything here today but I'm interested in hearing about diamond engagement rings" hoping this would eventually reveal someone that was passionate about jewelry, without caring what or how much I'd even want to spend. Fortunately for me, that someone became Mark on my 4th stop on my jewelry store tour. He was not phased in the least by my 'declaration' and looked beyond my semi-clean work attire, having just come from a job site, trying to keep my shopping ways secret from my then fiancee. Needless to say, Mark created an enjoyable diamond shopping experience for a guy that, up to that time, had little clue about what to look for in an engagement ring and was dreading an 'in person' shopping experience. He made the entire process easy, educational, painless, and enjoyable. Because of some common interests at the time, I asked for his personal email address and because of that ability to reconnect years later, I was led to Lux Bond & Green for my latest diamond purchase. While it is 3 hours round trip for me to get there, I simply won't spend money on jewelry anywhere Mark is not located. The shop itself is in a great location, with plenty of parking, and had plenty of options to look at for my most recent diamond purchase. The store itself was busy with several customers but there were enough employees available to not feel rushed while trying to make difficult decisions while reviewing any number of options. As you enter, you're recognized and greeted from a standpoint of whether or not you can be assisted in finding anything specific vs just browsing. "So sum it up, would you already?" I want to share my experience with Lux over the holidays. Over the last few weeks I started to get more interested in watches and last week my girl and I stopped in to check some out. Gil was immediately welcoming, to both of us. While I was looking for a men's watch, we all know our girls have influence! Gil offered some espresso, which was great as I'm a huge espresso guy. Then we started to explore watch options. Anywho, I was looking at a few Rolex models and trying to determine which would be the best. I didn't buy one that first visit and decided go back when I had more time. ...I went to about 4 other shops..none had the customer service Gil provided at Lux and I went back. I looked all over for watches, from HK to NYC. I am well aware of where and how tax is/is not applied. I also read up on the tax law so I was fully informed. My second stop in I was solo as my girl was traveling out of the country. Again, Gil was there and very welcoming. He explained the options of the watches, some history with a few funny stories tossed in there. I ended up buying a Rolex and over a few espressos really grew fond of it. I also decided that even with tax, buying it from a person with the right attitude and friendly nature was well worth it. I'm very happy with the Rolex and looking forward to a lifetime of wear. While i have been interested in luxury watches for a while, the thought of walking into a Rolex Authorized dealer and asking for a timepiece that i want always seemed daunting. Rolexes are, after all, a statement that you have arrived. Being an immigrant doctor, my impostor syndrome always hangs around in the background, whispering "you don't deserve it". Egged on by my wife, i finally decided to take the plunge when i was promoted, and decided to visit LB&G. Boy was it a great decision! After a picture for the security cameras, I was greeted warmly by Gil. Gil was humble, and his genuine love of watches showed through all his conversations. We talked about timepieces, our backgrounds, and Gil gently allayed all my anxieties about the Rolex ordering process. I was in the market for my first rolex. I visited LBG and was greeted by Gil. He was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about Rolex sport models. I was able to purchase my first watch from him and it was a fantastic experience. He truly cares about his customers and his attitude and demeanor speaks volumes about how passionate he is about watches and jewelry. He also assisted me in getting my watch insured and overall it was a very pleasurable experience. I have already recommended several friends to LBG and would recommend anyone who is looking for a watch or Jewelry to stop the store and see what they have in inventory. I can't say I've had a good experience at this Lux Bond location. I was out shopping at Summerset for some Christmas presents on a very cold December Saturday, and remembered that Lux Bond carried Buyers Choice Carolers. Since I was on the search for a specific one, I decided to stop in. The Carolers are right in the front of the store. While I didn't see the one I was looking for, they had the reindeer to the set and I picked that up to purchase it. I began to browse the jewelry counters, holding the reindeer and eventually stopped by the John Hardy jewelry, which I LOVE, seeing a ring I wanted to try on. Well, all of the sales people were helping others at the time so I waited patiently (never acknowledged). The sales lady closest to me finished up with her customer and started to just walk around, very close to me. I waited over 5 more minutes, resorting to just checking e-mails and stuff on my phone as I continued to wait. She eventually asked if she could help me with something, (not in the most welcoming tone), which is when I told her I was purchasing the buyers choice item and wanted to try a on a ring. After trying it on and a brief conversation about the rings (styles they had available) with the saleswoman, I was beyond aggravated at the unfriendly undertone towards me. I ended up making an excuse that I didn't like the way it fit, even though I did. I know they sell the same one at Nordstrom and Saks for the same price, so I would much rather take me business where I am appreciated and treated with respect. Okay, I've been told by some that I look like a 16 year old (I'm going on 30), and I was wearing leggings and uggs (as I stated, it was a day of shopping in the nasty new England weather). That being said, I still should have been treated with respect even though I wasn't dressed to the nines on that particular day. Lux Bond lost a ring sale and a customer that day. I came here earlier today and the staff was very friendly and inviting. A nice woman sized my finger as well as a ring that belongs to my fiancé. Glastonbury, CT store. Very happy with my experience. I went in shortly after opening on a Saturday morning to have my watch battery replaced. The store had their COVID-19 safety plan clearly displayed. I walked in and was immediately acknowledged by someone who was with another customer and was told someone would be right with me. (That is the perfect way to interact with a customer when they enter the door.). In less than one minute, an employee by the name of Kat approached me and asked if she could help me. I told her about my watch. She confirmed they could do it right there and right then. I asked the price. Very reasonable. She took the watch away to work on it. I browsed around the store. Everything was clean, orderly, and displayed nicely. Give or take a minute, the watch was ready ten minutes later. Checkout was simple and quick...but not rushed. Kat came across as genuinely pleasant...not that forced tone you can hear people struggle through. I was originally going to have the watch done somewhere else but I needed to kill some time before another store in the complex was going to open so I gave LB&G here a shot. I know I only spent a small amount of money on a watch battery replacement. However, I will absolutely drive out of my way now to come here instead of many closer places for watch and/or jewelry needs. I was able to get hard to find Christmas items from Lux, Bond and Green. I found the items online and called to confirm availability. The woman I spoke to was very polite and helpful. She said she would keep an eye out for my online order and ship it the same day. My items shipped that day and I received the in two days. I visited Lux Bond & Green recently to look for wedding bands for my Fiancee' and I. We met the manager Katherine who was not only extremely professional, but very knowledgeable. From the second we walked in the door, we knew we were going to be taken care of. She was so helpful and made the process so easy. We also mentioned we wanted a few gifts for family members to give at our wedding. After briefly describing each person, she found the most perfect items that we know each person will love, while staying within our budget. I had purchased a ring at the South Windsor location, which was closing, and was promised that I would be able to have it sized at any of their other locations. The employee was either mistaken or lying, as when I brought it to the Glastonbury location, the very rude clerk informed me it was not possible to resize. She constantly reiterated how I bought the ring at a discounted price, which I did(store closing sale), I just fail to see how that absolves her of providing any customer service, particularly one that was promised. A wedding band that doesn't fit is useless to me, no matter what I paid. Lux, bond and Green made no effort to correct the situation. No return, no exchange. The manufacturer offered scrap value for the platinum, and I could purchase the ring I wanted at full price. No thank you. read more

I recently purchased an engagement ring from this store. In fact it was from the store manager, Chris Stokes. At first Chris seemed helpful but quickly you could tell his true character. I asked multiple times for all paperwork and documents at the time of purchase and Chris insisted that I would have it. On the day I went to purchase he didn't have any documents for insurance purposes. I was leaving the country and wanted insurance on the value of the ring, not what I paid. Since I have purchased I have no heard from Chris. During the purchase I had to keep and eye out on the terms and conditions and I had to have Chris write in certain things since he did not clarify them or bring them to my attention. For example, the setting of the ring was considered a special order and had special terms. Chris didn't explain this until I brought it to his attention. As soon as I brought it up he corrected it, but when spending money on something important you don't want to worry that the person you planned on spending more money with was putting you at risk. Even the ring cleaning and re-sizing he made it into a huge deal and told me there could be cost. West Hartford does not charge. I reached out to the West Hartford store to complain and they have been great to fix the terrible experience from the Glastonbury CT store. I would never go back to Glastonbury for anything and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. If you do go because it is closer just be careful of Chris and make sure to be diligent, ask a lot of questions, and make sure haggle a little as he doesn't like to start at the best price. read more

Bought large expensive diamond ring there and then brought in a bracelet to be repaired. They weakened the setting causing some of the stones to fall out. Which of course, they denied. But didn't stand behind their work and wanted another $350 to fix what they broke! Won't go back ever again! read more

Experience is same as other post, with a twist. When it's time for the store to close, it doesn't matter if you've been there 2 hours or 2 minutes.
