I love the calming vibe I always receive the moment I walked in the door and am greeted by the friendly front desk staff. It's like a switch gets turned off in my brain and my stress is instantly dialed down. This feeling continues and seems to change to bliss as I float away during the facial. At the end, I leave with considerable less stress and a transformed mind with skin that has never felt or looked so good. Here's my policy on reviews: I called in a friendly tone, wanting to reschedule my appointment 26 hours prior. Your front desk staff was RUDE. THAT WAS THE MAJOR FACTOR IN YOUR REVIEW. A friendly staff member could have said - "let's get you in another day" However, your staff was much too eager to bring up your 48 HR cancelation policy. (At this stage in a sale , keep in mind customers don't even know you.) It's off putting. She could have listened, then put me on hold (then discussed with you about not charging the customer, and that wife was already a customer )... THEN NOT EVEN BRING IT UP.........THEN STILL CLOSE THE SALE and got 2 more customers This would have saved your review This would have had 2 more local customers It sounds as you've worked very hard to get good reviews. HOWEVER: You could have called me personally when you knew this was an issue- you didn't. You could have emailed my wife and asked for my cell and or email me personally- you didn't. You could have said "excited about you coming in, let's get you that 1st appointment" - you didn't. You could have modified your front desk pitch and been more observant about tone with staff. - you haven't. Finally, if your staff is hypervigilant about the loss of a sale (I think you are stepping over dollars to grab pennies ) however, you could implement a policy to auto text message customers ("notifying customers 48 policy - 1 week in advance) BTW I received zero calls and zero text messages All the above has not been done. Only once did I have to wait more than 10 minutes & this was probably due to the office squeezing me in last minute. The parking can be sketchy, depending upon the time of day & if your appointment falls during traditional work-out (mornings until about 10:30am & afternoons from 2:30pm on) hours as they share a parking lot with Kennedy Fitness & another MD's office or 2. They do have spaces allotted to Dr Kunkel's practice, it's just once or twice those spaces were all filled. The girls running the front desk are always kind & considerate. Greta is thorough in what she does & gentle using cryo-therapy. I do worry though, if she's aware of my past history which includes an uncle who died from Melanoma in the '80s & a Father who had at least 1, if not 2 large areas of "pre-melanoma" surgical removals in the early 2000s. And, then me who's so far had 2 of the 3 types of skin cancer with a strong suspicion of squamous cell, making it actually 3 of the 3 types of skin cancer. Granted my melanoma was diagnosed as pre-melanoma twice, I just wonder if she treats my concerns as being what they are---those of someone who has pointed out to my previous physician both areas of concern regarding the pre-melanomas & the basal cell carcinoma. For now, I will give Greta the benefit of the doubt & think that she has read my history & does know I generally point out my skin changes to my dermatologists.

Upon entering, you are welcome with a peaceful and warm ambiance. Mariana carefully goes over questions and concerns you may have about your skin, provides some helpful information about acne and evaluates your skin with you and before she recommends any product or treatment. She always follows up with you a couple days after starting you on a new product or changing up your regimen to see if you have any questions or concerns. During the biweekly extractions/ LED therapy she explains everything she is doing step by step and makes sure you feel comfortable and relaxed at all times. To start, she is the sweetest thing that has ever graced this planet and is so committed to giving you the look you want to achieve! I didn't want a natural look like I had just swiped on a coat of mascara, however I was looking for something that stood out but didn't look noticeably fake. I haven't had to wear mascara in weeks and I couldn't be happier! My natural lashes won't hold a curl no matter how much I curl them, even if I use a primer or heat up my eyelash curler, they go flat in about an hour. They are quite pricey for the full set, but the refills are much cheaper, so over time they cost about the same as other salons that advertise a lower price for a full set. Backstory: I got lash extensions a few months prior and the woman glued numerous lashes together and made them all the same length. They ended up falling out in clusters about a week later and I was left with lashes maybe a centimeter long. This place was in AG and the lash stylist did not have an esthetician's license, so the best thing I could suggest is to check for that before you get your lashes done because these are your eyes you're messing with! Anyways, Amber did an AMAZING job and played great music while she applied my set. We were talking a lot of time, but there were definitely moments when I nodded off. The whole application of a full set lasted around and hour and a half and my time slot was two hours, so I didn't feel rushed or like Amber was rushing to finish. I really cannot recommend her enough! If you're considering getting eyelash extensions in SLO or nearby, definitely go to Amber Bell at Elevenses.
