I came here because of the Yarn Crawl -- so glad to discover this shop! A variety of yarns, notions, and other knitting-related goodies like stickers, shirts, books, etc. The staff are so friendly and approachable. When I purchased a journal to keep track of my projects, they made sure I wanted the knitting one and not the crochet one. I did want the knitting one, but I hadn't even realized there were two different versions, so I was glad they checked. read more

The store moved to a new location last week at the Pavilion in Jenkintown. It's such a lovely location: bright, clean and welcoming! Great parking! Ellen Rubin held lessons today and we had many walk-in visitors who expressed their appreciation for the convenience of this location. No jack hammers or construction in the parking lot. read more

I'm not a knitter but if I lived in the Philly area, I'd be a regular at Luv2Knit & More. Proprietor Ellen engaged our group right away and led us to quality yarns in the mid to high price range. We picked up American made super wash (machine washable) wool for a throw and 90% cotton/10% cashmere from Spain, for a simple scarf. We brought our treasure trove of yarn to my 86 year old aunt who's the most requested knitter in my family. I'll be back next time I'm in the area. My daughter and I love coming here. she attends classes and has been enjoying her time with Ellen, who is so patient and helpful with teaching her crochet. Everyone there is so welcoming and kind, very accommodating to our busy schedules. The yarn selection is wonderful. I stopped by Luv2Knit while visiting family in Cheltenham, PA. I live just outside of Detroit, Michigan and planned to be back there this past Monday. However, my mom collapsed on Thanksgiving Day, fracturing her dominant shoulder. Luv 2 Knit had high ratings and was not too far from my mom's home. So, I got an Uber there. Wow. What a quaint shop staffed by wonderful friendly people! My stress began to dissipate as soon as I stepped inside the store. Exquisitely beautiful knitting projects were displayed throughout. The various yarns were beautiful and I appreciated the kits ... i.e., yarn bundles with FREE instructions for completing the project! Needless to say I left with a fun original project to work on! I will definitely visit again during my extended stay in PA. read more

I found Ellen to be friendly and very helpful. I have 50 years experience knitting but came across a stitch that I couldn't figure out. Ellen explained why I was having difficulty and showed me how to do it correctly. I walked out of her store confident that I knew what to do. She also has the most amazing yarn-stuff you certainly wont find in a craft store. In addition she does a lot of charity work through her shop. I highly recommend Ellen and her shop. read more

I stopped in to Luv2knit about 18 months ago for help with a pattern. Ellen was absolutely wonderful! She helped me with the problem even tough I had purchased the yarn elsewhere. She has continued to help when I've been stuck or didn't understand the directions. I have since purchased yarn for 5 different projects and have been very happy. She has a nice selection of yarns that are very good quality. She does a lot of charity work and community outreach. Ellen also has classes for beginners as well as experienced knitters who might want to learn a new skill. I definitely recommend stopping in to meet her and see all the beautiful yarns. read more

This is a boutique knitting shop and more. I discovered the store a year ago. There are so many good things to say. First, the selection of yarns is fabulous. I feel like I'm in a yarn "candy store". I can spend an hour there just feeling the luxury of the yarns and looking at the beautiful colors. The owner, Ellen is charming and an expert knitter. She has put me back on tract for quite a few projects. Nothing is too complicated for her. There are several other lovely ladies(Jessica, M'Anette, Tori) who help her on her mission to make knitting a fun and enriching pastime. I am taking crocheting classes with Ellen. Although I know how to make blankets with single crochet only, I don't really know how to crochet other stuff. I sat with Ellen for an hour and she taught me the stitches and explained into detail the directions. It was a tough project as it involved beads, but she was very patient and kind and helped me understand. I can't wait for my next session! I am not one to write reviews but this one is a long time overdue. I was playing a game of yarn chicken with some old Blue Sky Fibers from my stash when I realized I was going to loose. The sweater I was working on was for a wedding that was 2 weeks away, for my 2 month old. I had called around a few LYS (the one I originally purchased from had since closed) and none of them carried it. Then I stumbled across this shop and when I say, the owner, Ellen, went waaaaay above and beyond to get the ONE skein for me, she really truly did and I am forever grateful. Long story short, I was able to get the sweater done in time thanks to Ellen going above and beyond the call of duty to get it for me. If you're looking for a another LYS to patronize, please go hang out with Ellen and check out all the different things she has going on there. I recently visited this shop with a friend (and our happy little dogs) at the recommendation of my super knitting sister, who knows the owner, Ellen. What a dream she is. Several customers stopped by for instruction or advice and Ellen was so welcoming, attentive and helpful to each one of us. She solved a yarn selection puzzle for me and I couldn't be happier. My friend and I hung around much longer and bought more supplies than either of us intended, mostly because the whole experience was so pleasant. The shop has a homey yet on trend vibe - one of those places where strangers become instant friends, advisors and mutual admirers of one another's creativity. My Gram was a knitter her whole life. When we lost her this year I decided to learn how to knit using her needles and yarn. I found this awesome store and took a few lessons with the owner, Ellen. Ellen is patient, kind and an excellent teacher. Her other helpers, Dr A, Nicole, Yolanda, are also so helpful. They help with patters, yarn selections and correcting mistakes. The Thursday night socials are a blast to go to. I get to learn a new skill and laugh with so many new friends. I grew up with my grandmother knitting never thinking that I would be able to do it.
