My partner and I are taking a road trip, so of course, my goal is to visit every Lush shop along the way. Today we visited Lush in Louisville at Oxmoor Center Mall, located at 7900 Shelbyville Rd. The team members greeted us as we walked in and were quick to offer suggestions or a product demo. My review has nothing to do with staff and everything to do with the inconsistency of the products. Some of my products couldn't be refunded (even after my allergic reaction) due to the nature of the products. Some of the benefits they say the product is for is not true. They offer Citrus and other abrasive oils in the 'skin sensitive' products. The managers did the best they could to help me with the issues and agreed the inconsistencies were alarming! read more

I cane here after Black Friday because I hate shopping. I know what I want and I get it and I move on with my life. My son is very different and LOVES shopping. We went through Macy's (which is next door) and he couldn't find help for smelly smells that boys start smelling like at 13 that weren't murder to the senses. I needed to get my fav products: Magic Crystals for exfoliating and relaxation; Happy Hippy for that super clean citrus smell; Sleepy for a lotion that helps you get calm to go to bed and be moisturizing; and to try something new! This time it was Snow Fairy, it was sparkly and smelled like bubble gum! (After using, the sparkles don't last and the smell becomes mostly inert after rinsing- wouldn't recommend this product) We then asked the lady that approached at the beginning of walking in do you have products to help smelly boys smells from being so smelly? It was a testing question for her. She had more questions for my son and got to flavors he enjoyed and got smaller sizes to try and some soap and lotions to use. (So far he really likes them!) Check out was a breeze and we got 2 boy earthy smelling soap samples that he also likes. This was a fantastic experience and I will be back! read more

I was a little hesitant to venture out for some holiday shopping, but ended up at Lush. They are operating extremely safely and I will definitely be back! When you arrive the entrance is blocked off and there is a clearly marked entrance, exit and pickup area. You have to wait in line at the entrance area to be admitted to the store. Before admittance they go over their current policies and ensure the store isn't overly crowded. Today I had to wash my hands upon entering, which I was impressed with! One of their rules is not to remove your mask to smell any items. I would highly recommend them for a safe shopping experience during the pandemic. read more

I've been using LUSH products off and on for 10+ years. Their products are expensive, some don't last very long, but they're definitely worth the purchase if you can spring it. I personallly don't know of any other product line that's comparable to what they offer in indulging your hair, face, and body with such quality and incredibly long-lasting and awesome smelling products. LUSH originated in the UK and has since popped up throughout the U.S. I became introduced to the LUSH line when having a breakfast meeting with a woman (in the summer) whose skin looked healthy, radiant, and well-conditioned. So I had to inquire, and she told me all about LUSH. Within a couple of days I purchased my first LUSH product. There are stand-alone stores (not sure if any in the Louisville area) and locations within Macy's (usually near the entrance inside the mall). While living in GA, TX, and now IN this seems to be consistent with their stores. LUSH is all about creams, scrubs, moisturizers, cleansers, shower gels, lotions/butters, soaps, facial cosmetics, and hair products that are vegetarian or vegan recipe inspired and that are handcrafted for indulging from head to toe. Their bath bomb is wildly popular. I've never tried it, but it must be a successful. I highly recommend those purchasing soaps to also purchase the tin can the salesperson will likely advise you to also buy. Believe me, s/he aren't trying to push an unnecessary sell on you - it definitely serves a good purpose. The tin comes in three different sizes to accommodate the item being purchased. It's worth the extra $4 and it's reuseable. It really helps in preserving your unique soap while sitting in the shower or bath area. My first visit was a bit overwhelming because they have soooo much to choose from. I didn't want to get sucked into buying too much since I was trying for the first time...and...remember...they can be costly. Below are a few suggestions I've had great success with and would definitely buy again for myself. Fellows - this isn't just a ladies thing...they got products for you to enjoy too! A few recommended products from personal use: Buffy / Body Butter scrub bar - intensely moisturizers and exfoliates your body. No need to lotion after shower. Moisturization can last a couple of days. Body Conditioner / Ro's Argan - rich moisturization that smells heavenly. The scent is long-lasting and carries. I noticed the fragrance transferred onto my robe, which was nice to be reminded of this smell when I'm just throwing on my robe for lounging. Massage Bar / Pearl - smells great and does a great job at hydrating the skin. I made the mistake of using it in the shower. Once I read the instructions it's supposed to be applied to dry skin. The staff is INCREDIBLE!!! Not only is this LUSH such a fun store in itself- the staff is WONDERFUL. I was there with a group of 11 year old girls for my Daughter's Birthday for a Mall themed party! ... The entire staff treated the girls like little real customers! It was ADORABLE to witness. They all helped the girls choose their favorite bath bombs and were not annoyed one bit by any of the kids being in the store. One of the girls accidentally dropped her bath bomb, and the staff happily replaced it without any hesitation! I cannot tell you after taking this sweet group of girls thru a few other stores and having eyes rolled at us... and people annoyed- this place was absolutely refreshing. I've had a love affair with Lush for almost twenty years now. We've had interludes around the country and abroad. And, I'll admit, I still get that fluttery feeling in my stomach when I see a Lush sign. It took long enough for Louisville to get this stand-alone, Lush shop. I never really liked the corner it had in Macy's. As you can guess, I've been to many, many Lush locations since I first discovered it in Dublin (Ireland, not OH). This one is a respectable size with all the sights and smells you expect when entering a Lush location. I was surprised that despite the number of associates, no one greeted me upon entry or immediately asked if I needed help. This has never happened to me before at Lush. It's their M.O. I browsed for at least five minutes before someone came up to me. I was glad for the help as I had several questions about hand products, which I've not tried or bought there in a long time. The associate was extremely knowledgeable and had me try several items. I came away with one (Golden Handshake), a sample of a lotion, and a third product she suggested after I mentioned my aching muscles and the loss of a fave, Lush bubble bar that often soothed them. I love the way this place smells. It is all very fresh and unique and not too "perfumey." They offer natural products and don't test on animals. The skin and hair care line is great! My favorite products are the fragrances. The oil in them seems to mesh well with my body chemistry and the scent lasts all day. I've recently been searching for more natural solutions to dry, irritable skin for both myself and my boyfriend and happened to stumble upon this store. What caught my eye immediately was the packaging and options of samples displayed on shelves and tables. My senses where on high alert, it smelled delicious, refreshing, and clean! I was approached by an associate who was more than happy to help out someone who wasn't familiar with a good skin or beauty regiment. (I am not one who wears makeup everyday, I stick to some basic face lotion and am an avid fan of Bath and Body Works before I visited this store.) She was exceptionally friendly, very knowledgable about what she was promoting and recommended products that were for my needs and even let me try and take home a few samples. I ended up purchasing the Dream Cream which was around $23-$25 since I was skeptical about unloading more $$ on product I wasn't sure of. That next morning I tried the lotion and to my surprised it kept my skin moisturized the entire day! The following day I brought my boyfriend and purchased some of the Fairly Traded Honey Shampoo, and the Dream Wash. While the lotion was just a test the real deal would be the shampoo and body wash. The shampoo felt 'weird' when I was using it ( I had been so used to Tresemmé that using anything but felt odd). "No conditioner needed", that's what the girl selling the product told me. I didn't believe her since my hair is extremely thick but to my surprise it didn't need it once I was out of the shower and my hair was dry. It smelt great, had a luscious shine and was not oily the next morning!!! The products worked!!! The staff is beyond friendly, they are extremely knowledgable about what they are selling and who they are selling it to. The layout of the store is refreshing and the products work wonders without all the additional chemicals. The products are on the pricey side of the dollar but it is money well spent. I haven't found a bottle of shampoo or brand of lotion that delivers the results my picky skin uses. I will be a returning customer! If you're looking for a gift for anyone who loves bath products, go to Lush and skip everything else. You don't need a know a thing when you walk in, there are always lots of workers there who are delighted to help. I've managed to come to this place for 12 different gift occasions, and I've never bought the same thing twice. All of the bath bombs, shower gels, and lotions all top out with the most expensive being around $12. For how long the products last and the giddy smile I see every time I gift one, it's definitely worth the money. As a happy customer myself, I have to endorse the soaps available at Lush. I was having some serious skin issues and couldn't get an appointment with my dermatologist for two more months. Twenty-four hours after being in LUSH, my skin feels amazing and looks great! One of the employees took the time to sit down with me and try different products on the backs of my hands to find a regiment specific to my wants/needs. I left with a wash (Angels on Bare Skin), toner (Eau Roma Water), and moisturizer (Vanishing Cream). The employee even sent me home with a sample face mask (Bunny Moon) that was a total game changer! They all seem to truly enjoy working at Lush, and they are very knowledgable about their products. My best experience was when I went in looking at some of their skincare items. They were thorough in checking out my skin and finding something that would really work for me. 5 weeks later and my esthetician is raving about how great my skin looks. Their bath bombs and bubble bars are a great starter to get to know Lush and its products, but their shower gels and moisturizers are incredible. This little shop was previously located inside of Macy's. Now they have their own location and are just as busy, even with a bigger space. My wife absolutely loves this place. I guess that means I have to love it, too, right? ;-) I don't get into all of their products. I don't use them, merely go shopping with my wife and help her pick out the bath bombs, etc. But what impresses me about this place is the staff. They are always so quick to help and have a lot of knowledge about what they sell. They take their time with every customer and have never pushed a sale on us. They seem confident in their product which is a good thing. The only reason I can't give this a stellar review is that the things are priced so dang high, in my opinion. You buy the soap by weight so you can spend as little or as much as you want. A typical sized bar is about $5. The jelly is a little pricier it's just whatever your prefer. Best cosmetics for hair and body - handmade, very effective, and many products are vegan. (You'll find them INSIDE of Macy's at Oxmoor Mall). None of the products are animal tested and are environmentally conscious. I purchased the Karma Cream body and hand lotion which is a miracle worker! The scent really is a head turner and while it's a heavy feeling at first, it absorbs within a half hour. The Big Shampoo is - well I've never used anything like it. I would never expect it to work, given the consistency but it left my hair so full, soft, light, and no need to wash again for 48 hours. Veganaise conditioner for hair gets the same glowing review as the shampoo above and I love the charcoal products for face scrubbing. Staff is very friendly and fully expect you to be dubious, curious, and in need of help. They perform demos on you, provide samples for trying, but can be a bit pushy at times. Products. Are. Not. Cheap. Now, they're worth every penny but they work out of the department store for a reason. The tub of lotion I mentioned is around $32. That said, I've hardly made a dent in it because it's so effective. One more word for the wise - these products are raw and natural so they have expiration dates. Watch for these when purchasing or you might buy something that's not recommended for use in a week. read more

Lush is one of a few places I'll admit that the mall is good for. Looking for a nice and effective deodorant without aluminum? Lush is your spot. To give you an idea of how long their stuff lasts I bought one of their T'eo bars of crumbling freshness last August and I've still got about half of it left. I used it on top of an Alba product since the bar is kinda dry it was tough to apply it without applying the Alba deodorant first. Regardless, I wasn't that satisfied with it because it's not quite strong enough in the summer months for me and it's kinda messy to apply after the bar invariably disintegrates into crumbles. Trying to pat down white powder on my armpits sometimes results in getting it on my clothes or all over my bathroom floor. Lets just say that if you walked in before I cleaned the white powder off my floor you might wonder if someone with a drug problem resided there... Anyway, with the heat index in the 80's and 90's lately I knew I needed some stronger deodorant and since none of their products contain aluminium I knew there must be something else up my alley at Lush. Yep, the lovely sales ladies steered me in the right direction towards the Aromaco bar and a bottled powder. It's been a few weeks and so far, so good! After a tour of the entire store complete with demos and multiples product samples to stuff my bag, I almost feel like I'm armed with enough product info so that I could go in and work at Lush. Their employees are incredibly friendly, knowledgable and inquisitive. They'll look up any ingredient info for you and encourage you to try as many products in the store as possible to make an informed decision. Of course, much of that is probably to upsell but that's to be expected. Go in knowing your limits and the nice thing is when you say no, you might just get free samples to take home! As far as their "natural" element goes, most of their products are MOSTLY natural. Yeah, you'll find ingredients like tea tree oil listed near the top but you might also find parabens and sulfates in their too. Their explanation is that while many other "natural" products are advertising as paraben and sulfate free, they're using other chemicals that just haven't even been tested yet. Their talking point is that Lush believes that these things work effectively, aren't harmful in the small amounts that they use and at least are understood while newer chemicals aren't. So, heads up if you are expecting a full line of completely all natural stuff, that's not the case here. read more

Everything in here smells decent to amazing. Some of the staff I feel like doesn't know what they're talking about because the products they've recommended did not help. However, other staff has been quite helpful as other products they have recommended worked well. For example, they recommended a hot oil treatment for my girlfriend who has a dry scalp in the wintertime. We tried this product hoping for some relief but did not see results. Other products we've used, such as the face masks, foot scrubs, and bath bombs have worked really well. The price on some things feel a bit over the top, but a lot of the products feel fairly priced. I am obsessed. I have never been more pleased with a cosmetic product than I am with everything that Lush has to offer. I have been hesitant to try it out for ages because I thought that it's just another hippie joint selling me expensive all-organic stuff, which I am not a fan of. I have been using The Body Shop for everything for years now, until my recent Lush venture. EVERYTHING at Lush works wonders. Not that I have bad skin, but so far, everything that I have used exceeded my expectations, and the results can be seen right after using them. Especially if your skin gets real dry during the winter, Lush moisturizers can fix it all in one actual day. They have all sorts of products, from head to toe, and for all skin types. A trip to the store can be overwhelming, but their associates are very friendly and are very knowledgeable about their products. You just describe to them what you need or what you are looking for, and they'll know exactly what to give you. Their products are expensive, but worth every penny! I absolutely love Lush products, however, I'd rate the store 3.5 if I could. I feel like they had more space when they were in Macy's and not their own store. I would love to go into the store and look around and smell things, however, there's always a lot of people in there and sometimes too many employees, most of which are a little overzealous trying to help you. That's probably a good thing for most people but I typically want to explore on my own and if I need help I'll ask. That's just my personality, and so I feel overwhelmed when I go in, and it's usually not an enjoyable experience unless I go in knowing exactly what I need to get. read more

This place is amazing. All of their sales people act like it is their personal goal to make your day better and spoil you. They remember you after the second time you shop there and always call you a friend. For face care emergencies (or non emergencies) Alex (medium length hair and glasses) is the GOAT (greatest of all time) for pairing you with your perfect match of cleansers, Masks, and potions. I can't remember her name....I want to call her Gwen but that's not it. She is beautiful, had glasses, and an Afro she helped pair me with unbelievable hair masks which had my hair growing like rapunzel and completely healthy. If you get a chance check it out. They have awesome self care treats and the staff is amazing. They are not creepy at all and don't follow you around. Each employee there is worth being friends with...they are they cool.
