Lupine Inn Room was ok except-dirty shower curtain/when you see color change to orangey pink-that is BACTERIA! Replace with a new shower curtain! Put in a new shower curtain liner and new curtain that has some color with a curved shower curtain rod. Mgt needs to make room inviting! Bedside table for each side of the bed. This room had NO bedside tables-just a tiny square kitchen table. And the electric outlet was way on the other side of the table. The pool looked like a layer of oil was on top. None of these areas are the cleaner's problem-the room was very clean! Management/Owner needs to step up and make some improvements. read more

Very affordable and reasonably clean. We travel a lot as retirees and in the winter months seek out affordable and well reviewed hotel and motel accommodations (summers we camp). This hotel fit the bill. It's tired and rundown but fairly clean. There isn't a breakfast or any thing else, besides a pool - which we didn't visit or care about. All in all a decent place to shower and sleep, which fits the bill for us. read more

If you are going to just sleep here it's ok. Had good hot water and shower pressure. Don't use the laundry the machine took my quarters and the manager said it was my fault Not his since another company owned the washer and dryer machines and soap dispenser. He also stated he had no quarters which he had a lot of. There is absolutely no deluxe continental breakfast and my room was very dusty with mold in the bathrooms. I wish I could give this hotel a negative star. The room was absolutely disgusting. From the rug to the bathroom nothing was clean. We stripped the bed to make sure there wasn't bed bugs! We tried to stay just to get a couple hours of sleep but the stench was horrid. Smoke/mold I even think pot was in the mix. My mom has COPD and couldn't breath 20 minutes after being in the room. I wont even talk about the filth and smell in the hallway! We left 25 minutes into checking in. I was told I would get my money back "if someone else checked in" (not sure how getting a refund should depend on someone else checking in..???) Because he "wouldnt take free money". We did a poker run from WY to Red Lodge. I attempted to book a room at the Lupine in advance. I never received confirmation. I called the Lupine for verbal confirmation. No answer. I emailed the Lupine via their website. No response. The only communication I have received is the $217.21 charge to my card. read more

This hotel needs a little love. The desk chair in my room was broken, I was missing 2 of 5 light bulbs in the bathroom, my carpet in the hallways looks dirty, the door in my room needs some paint to cover up all the marks, etc. The hotel was fine for a night. The hotel could seriously use an update but it had vacancy when no one else did. That should tell you something.... Lastly, you are a short walk into town. So it is a convenient location and once there you dont have to drive anymore. read more

We hadn't realized the distance of this place from Yellowstone National Park ... the drive itself is through a bunch of (beautiful) mountains, but it's a long and very windy drive. My dad tried to cancel our second night reservation but they wouldn't let us. It's pretty dated, but inexpensive. The complimentary breakfast is below average. They have a waffle iron, but it really pissed off my sister when the manager came and served up her waffle before it even finished. He said he could smell that it was done, but it wasn't ... what's the big deal, it wasn't burning and there weren't other people waiting to use it ... don't mess with people's breakfast please! There is also no meat ... some pastries and an old crusty pot of gravy for biscuits and gravy. Overall the staff was very well meaning and friendly. Water pressure is excellent ... so good that you'll be standing in a puddle of water b/c it doesn't drain fast enough. The free wifi was very weak for us ... it took forever to download and send some work emails in the evening, though it was better in the morning. Best part though - were the 3 bear cubs and a momma bear that I ran into when parking the car at 10:30 one night. In speaking with one of the neighbors that lives in the area - apparently they come visit every night!! We made sure to remove all food from our car! read more

Oh my God, never stay here. Jay, the manager is a crook and this place should be condemned! He tried to rent me room #124 for $80. The minute I walked into it I saw that the bathroom had a hole in the ceiling that was POURING out water into a trash can that had been set on the back of the toilet. The floor has about 2 inches of water on it. I immediately called, Jay, and asked for a refund, which he gave for the $80. It was not until I checked my bank, several days later, did I find he has charged me $157 for a room I never stayed in. Then when I called him to fix it, he gave me the run around. I HAD TO FILE A DISPUTE WITH VISA TO GET MY TOTAL REFUND. read more

Horrible. Room #102 smelled of urine. Chairs were stained. Said 24 hr desk, but front door was locked and had to call for assistance for late check in. Barely understood clerk he rushed through check in. Door to enter for rooms had string to pull on rather than handle. Continental breakfast was a joke. Milk left on counter not refrigerated, coffee cups were about 3oz. Didn't eat because it felt dirty. Was only thing available but rates were way too high for place. read more

Something just a little strange here - can't quite put my finger on it. but I was very disappointed and embarassed. I'd made reservations for a group - thinking it was the Alpine Lodge. the multi level narrow hallway was odd - although the owner did help us drag our luggage up the stairs. I would suggest people avoid this dump. The gentlemen at the front desk got very rude with us when he could not locate our online reservation. The room we did get was dingy. About half of the lights worked in the room. We did have a small kitchen setup with an oven, but, the back grease guard was a torn up piece of cardboard covered in stains. I opened the old fridge and closed it immediately because it looked awful, I didn't want to find out if it smelled awful as well; it may not have even worked. Very nice. This is not a fancy hotel it's a little dated, but the rooms are bigger than the newer hotels. We came to town to just hang out but wanted a warm pool for younger kids and fast internet to do some school work . Went in to ask the front desk about these and the owner/manager let us go check out the pool and said we could try out different rooms to see which had better internet speed . The housekeeper was very nice and helpful. The owner even brought snacks to the kids to have after they got out of the pool. Within walking distance to downtown. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

Terrible. Sinks and vanities strewn throughout the parking lot. Bathroom walls and floors were not clean. Pool closed for maintenance but I got the idea it had been for years. Do not get the jacuzzi King. Jacuzzi does not work, and obviously hasn't for some time. The tub didn't even have a plug so it could be used as a regular tub. Do not stay at this hotel!! My story is: I made reservation on line 6.5 weeks before my stay. The night I show up the clerk said there is no reservation in my name. I told him I made the reservation with price line. He told me they do not do business with price line. No big deal, I thought, so what that I don't have a reservation. They had open rooms so I stayed there one night instead of 3. When I got back from my trip I checked my credit card and Lupine charged me for the 1 night I stayed then also the 3 nights that the clerk claimed I did not have a reservation for. I called today and spoke with the same person, I explained the whole story to him. I asked if he would refund the charge for the 3 nights and he said, "No, I should have canceled it after I left after the first night." I said, "sir, why would i cancel a reservation you said i never had in the first place?" Then he said, "You should have canceled it when you checked out." I said, "Sir, when I checked you did not even come to the front desk." There is a phone in the lobby. If you want to talk to the staff you call on that phone. A person may or may not come. I also said, "when I checked out I asked what do i need to do and you told me just leave the room key on the desk." The hotel was pretty low quality. What bothered me the most is getting charged for 4 nights when I only stayed for 1 and then, at this point it time, they still will not refund me. I called my credit card company and they sound like they will fix it for me. Bottom line, the people who work there are incompetent, liars and unjust. Do not stay there. read more

Very clean rooms & large. Professional lobby, courteous owner who also does all he can to keep things tidy. Mattresses were immaculate. Our daughter left a stuffed Pokemon, which he sent to our home for $6.18. Very kind; I'm sure he has plenty to do without boxing & shipping something for us. Stay someplace else. The rooms smell. There is dirty laundry piled in the hallway - we were there for two nights and it was never moved. We didn't partake of the complimentary breakfast because, well, it's just not a place where you'd want to eat anything. Maybe it was nice at one time but not it's held together with duct tape. Things that used to work (heat lamp in bathroom, etc.) don't work now. There were two heat/air units in our room. One worked and one didn't. Avoid, avoid, avoid! Manager screwed up my check in. He wrote me up as paying cash, but I wasn't and didn't gave enough on me. He told me to get some cash in town and pay later. So I did, paying the $3.00 at the cash machine. Around 10 pm he called me and told me I needed to give him the money. I said I had it and he came to get it. He showed up at my door. No receipt. I told him I wasn't turning over the cash unless he gave me a receipt as I would need proof I had paid. He got upset, knocked on friend's door, waking her up. He came back 2 times, threatening to call the police. I told him go ahead. The police came and I was given a receipt. I spent the night very, very glad I have a protective dog. read more
