On the tiny island of Frenchboro, Lunt's Dockside Deli serves up the best lobster I've ever had. Find a way to get there - it's worth it. There's no other place like it. The staff is super friendly, and the eats can't be beat. Last time I was there I had a lobster roll for breakfast, one steamed lobster for lunch, and two steamed lobsters for dinner. Coupled with some drawn butter and cold Geary's to wash it down? Heaven on Earth is located off the coast of Maine.

The flavor of the lobter was from the butter or anything else you put on it. The chowder was like warm milk with chunks of potatoes and one piece of fish. The ice cream had frezzer taste. The chocolate chip cookie I did like. The lobster mac and cheese, it would be nice if the top layer was toasted and a little bit more lobster. The crab meat was delicious.

Good food and great ambience! Service is exceptional. The view is absolutely superb. Try to get there early and stay late.

Delicious. Fun easy trip in the boat (from MDI) with family for lunch. Delicious lobster because it ain't smothered in dressing.

If you're visiting Bar Harbor you have probably seen brochures for Thurston's around town like we…read moredid. after looking at reviews and the menu online we visited on a Saturday for an early dinner/late lunch. There was a long line at the door to order but the line moved fairly quickly. After ordering you seat yourself and your food is brought to the table. We sat in the bar area which was very nice. It seemed like all menu items except for lobsters could be ordered from the bar directly so if you are not planning to order a lobster this could help you skip the long line. We had one lobster dinner and one sandwich with a blueberry cider and strawberry rhubarb margarita. The food was great and service was friendly. Prices seem standard for the area.

We sat right on the dock and ordered live lobster, which is cooked fresh on site. Be prepared to wait a bit, but it is absolutely worth it. The lobster was the best we had the entire trip, enjoyed with ocean views and a beautiful sunset. One tip: get the blueberry pie if they aren't sold out. We ordered a few to share and immediately regretted not getting our own because it was that good. By the time we realized, they were already sold out for the night.

The Island Market and Supply - All packages delivered to the island end up and TIMS. Why? Because the post office is too small to hold them all.

You'll eventually wind up at TIMS. They have all the staples: milk, eggs, cereal, meats, cheeses, eggs, veggies, etc. Be forewarned, 90% of the items don't have prices on them. I guess they want you to have sticker shock when you check out. To be honest, it's more like cardiac arrest depending on how much shopping you need to do. The lady in front of me had a bag of stuff in one hand and a gallon of milk in the other and she walked out $75 lighter than when she entered. Small price to pay I suppose when hunger is your next closest alternative. Overall, if Andy Griffith's Mayberry had a 7-11, TIMS would be the mirror image of it with the added benefit of being able to purchase live seafood. Bonus: They have ice cream. An extra star just for that.

I saw this place when we first got to Maine and never forgot about it because I am a giant soft serve fan and they boast 24 different flavors of soft serve!!!! This was our 4th and last stop on our Maine Ice Cream Trek and it did not disappoint. After very long and drawn out deliberation, I decided to try the English Toffee flavor and my wife got the Dragon's Blood soft serve flavor. Both were so good but that Dragon's Blood was out of this world!! I had never had the flavor before and it blew my mind. We also got fries to make sure we made it home to eat and they were the best fries we had in Maine for our entire trip and my wife LOVES fries so that's a very nice compliment. We almost ordered a second serving. There is plenty of covered seating outside but no inside seating so it gave a well catered picnic vibe. I will say it was hard for us to find because the map didn't realize where it was. We had to drive around a bit to find it but it's next to the gas station/convenience store that Maps takes you to. I would absolutely go out of my way to go to Seaside Dairy Bar the next time we're in Maine. It's well worth it!
