TV room - they have a lot of channels. There is also a Wii with 2 controllers (you have to bring your own games).

I just returned from a weekend retreat at the Lundy Creek Lodge. It's a huge house located outside of White Plains, Georgia. I highly recommend checking it out for a getaway with friends or family. There's plenty of space for socializing and activities, and it's a super relaxing setting. My colleagues and I really enjoyed our stay. The place has a basement, main floor, and upstairs. There are bedrooms on all the floors. The central air works really well and there are ceiling fans in every room. One note: the thermostats located in each bedroom don't do anything - the real controls are in the hallway on each floor. The house has 16 bedrooms and each one has a private bathroom. Some of the rooms have two beds. The beds are comfortable and the linens are high quality. Toiletries and towels are in each bathroom (some of the double rooms have bathrooms with extremely tiny shower doors - something to note if your guests are on the larger side). There is a large TV on the main floor, which also has a commercial kitchen, huge dining room, and a small room with a very large and fancy old bar. There's another TV room downstairs, as well as a conference table room, a pool room, and a pong-pong table. The grounds include a hot tub (really nice!), a swimming pool, a duck pond, a conference center, a gazebo, and more. It's in a VERY rural area, and once you turn off the main road, there's a lengthy gravel road to reach the lodge. There is plenty of parking space. You will need to bring all food with you. There are no restaurants nearby - though there is a general store for basic supplies. Well, I did see one rough-and-tumble BBQ joint several miles down the road whose sign said it was open on Fridays and Saturdays. There is an ADA-compliant bathroom and an elevator, so it's fairly accessible. It's overall just a great place. There have been a lot of recent renovations.

This year the few standouts were Marc at Amore Del Lago for the after-hours s'mores hook-up and Euvon (Amore Del Lago and the Speakeasy, she had a long shift! ) for walking me ALL over the hotel when I was lost. The view is stunning and the food is high quality. The rooms are nice, but could use a few more elegant touches, though that may seem out of all place with the camp-like atmosphere. I didn't take many pictures, but will repurpose the few I took for other reasons.

The parking is valet only and is included in the mandatory report fee so be prepared for that. The grounds are immaculate and this place is definitely in a bubble. We used the pickleball courts and the spa. The pickleball courts were 3 miles away, but there is a shuttle you can take that is on-demand. You can also use the bikes that are included in the resort fee, but it is a hilly ride. The courts themselves are nice, and not owned by the Ritz, so they take your room number to charge the Ritz. The spa was really nice and guests are allowed to use the amenities without charge. There was a long line though so they took my name down. I got the tour in the meantime and found that it was pretty empty. The facilities are nice and clean, including a cold plunge, family indoor pool, hot tub, steam shower, and sauna. The room itself was well appointed and classy. The toiletries were abundant and the bathroom spacious, with a tub and free standing shower. The bed was soft and there was a small couch and desk. The TV was large, but had limited channels. The turndown service with small chocolates was a nice touch and I was blown away that they saw my mouse on the desk and put a Ritz mousepad underneath it for me. Since we were there for a retreat, we ate some meals in the tent, which was more than a tent. We had a buffet breakfast at Gaby's on the Lake with open seating and were able to grab a table next to the window for the fabulous views. Lastly, our sessions were in the Pavilion, which was a really nice facilities with comfy chairs, but only one unisex bathroom.

Pool area was closed all weekend, even though when booking it said was open and that was a big reason we booked this hotel. There looked like mold on the shower head and on the tub. There was used plastic spoon, fork, and knife in a side table. The vent above the toilet was very dusty, not sure if cleaned. There was a chip in the side table. And the WiFi was where you have to go to a separate page to log in on your phone and you are unable to use any systems you bring in the WiFi. Tried to ask to pay for a soda and front desk said it was for higher members. Tried to use the vending machine instead and it was out of order. The shower bar for the curtain was off a little. Check out was at 12 and they called around 11 and 11:45 to remind you it was at 12. Do not disturb was on door at check out and around 11:30 we had a knock on the door from housekeeping. Felt a big pushy to leave before check out time. Breakfast was not mine or my husbands favorite. We ended up not eating much and going somewhere else to eat. They didn't refill the milk the first day when we came down and the second day the milk was a little warm. Ac in the room did not go down to the temp it said and no matter how many times I pressed it sometimes it would not go up or down in temperature setting. Edit to add photos

Then, when we went upstairs to take showers and get settled, we discovered that the water pressure was very weak, and the water got only lukewarm. Then, I crawled into bed and began scrolling on my phone. It wasn't long before I felt something stinging me on my hands. I looked down and discovered ants, crawling on my hands and then something bit me on my neck and on my lower waist about the same time. I jumped out of bed and discovered fleas on my pillow and large bugs crawling all over my mattress underneath the covers. I began knocking them out the bed, but my wife told me to stop and take a video of them. So I did and reported it to the front desk. The front desk lady was very nice and responded appropriately, moving us to another room, but it was two floors up and we had to move all of our things and we were already very very tired. This is the second bad experience we've had with Hampton Inns. I do a bit of traveling for my home state and have discovered that some of the Hampton Inns appear to be a little old and worn. When I was in college, I worked as a hotel housekeeper, and from firsthand experience, I can tell you that their housekeeping standards leave much to be desired. The issue was addressed by hotel management and eventually elevated to the general manager, who contacted me and made things right. Great customer service by Ms. Tamika; she is a professional business woman.
