I love Lunds and Byerly's. I've always really loved their salad bar. But now it seems they're using nearly outdated lettuce. For $12 pound use fresh lettuce not the stuff that's nearly expired. Disappointing. Many brown and wilted leaves. read more

It's only L&B I'm aware of in St. Cloud area. Are used to shop and eat here many years ago. I was Ravi way today and they had to choose between Popeye fried chicken or buy fried chicken from here. I bought one from here and they ate have the chicken and the oil was perfect. No burping and no stomach ache no heartburn nothing. The place is relatively tight but they have everything. Service was excellent and parking is easy. It's on the main highway in Saint cloud. Very clean and well behaved staff. Mostly young. read more

I can't say that I shop here often because of the prices. However, I can usually find everything I'm looking for and the staff is very friendly. They used to mail out coupons for you to use in the store and not sure what happened with that. I've had a bunch of their cakes from the bakery and they are always delicious. They also make fresh bread too which is reasonable. We prepared to spend a lot here though. I still say that I prefer a Whole Foods over Lund's and for St. Cloud, I would always choose Fresh Thyme. read more

Hands-down, Lunds & Byerly's has the best bakery in town. As a donut connoisseur, I can authoritatively state that they have the best baked goods, donuts, cakes, and other confectionaries in the area. They're donuts are fresh, crisp, sizable, and downright tasty. This is the grocery store you go to if you want to get noticed. It's St. Cloud's elite grocery store, complete with carpeting and higher prices on most everything aside from a few of the basics. Don't get me wrong. I like the store well enough, and you'll find friendly employees and items here you will not find elsewhere. It's just difficult for those living on a budget to justify spending so much extra for the same items you can find elsewhere, simply for the experience of pushing your cart on a carpeted surface. That being said, you'll find great bakery items here, and excellent meats. If you shop their sales, there are occasional deals (buy one, get one free) to be had. You just need to watch the prices very carefully. read more

My favorite grocery store in st cloud! Always the best prices on milk and eggs. Sure, they carry some higher end products, but their specials and bogo sales are legit good deals. It's also the cleanest grocery store in sc. The deli is overpriced imho. The bakery is very good. In fact, it's the only good grocery store bakery left in St Cloud. Byerly's is one of the best grocery stores in town. I love that they have the organic natural foods next to all the other foods. If you are looking for frozen pizza, you can choose the natural brand or the other kind. It is helpful in price comparison and just makes it easier to make the healthy choice. They have great deals. If you sign up to have the weekly flyer emailed to you, there are web only specials that can help the budget. The text deals are also great. I like that the staff is always friendly and willing to help. Another thing I like is that there are very few small children in the store. It helps the shopping go faster when there are not small children running around unattended like can happen in other stores. read more

Now that Fresh Thyme exists, Lunds & Byerly's expensive plan is thwarted! You are overpriced, but good, but why would I go here when I can go down the road to something cheaper and just as good? WHY? WHY? I wouldn't. Haven't tried their bakery though, which people seem to rave about. read more

I have had numerous bad experiences at the Lunds & Byerly's in St. Cloud. I have found the staff to be consistently rude. They make a lot of mistakes with the pricing of items, meaning that the price on the bill does not correspond to the price on the weekly circular. I will never forget the last time that this happened. It had to do with the price of a particular type of water. When I pointed the mistake out to the young clerk she tried repeatedly to say that I was wrong. When she finally realized that the store had made the mistake, she did not even apologize. I will not go back to this store. read more

Nice layouts, friendly service. I like the homegrown coffees. The prices are a little higher than in other stores compared. Byerlys has nice specialties. Different kind of breads too. I visited this store after some friends suggested it, big mistake. I needed Emmentaler and Gruyere, pumpernickel & sour dough bread for cheese fondue, some good chocolate (fondue) and meats (raclette). Being an upscale grocery store I anticipated to walk out with various other delicacies not available elsewhere as well. One of the pieces of Emmentaler had hardened, even though it was sealed properly which tells me someone at L&B had this brick in their hands and decided it was OK for sale and consumption. Trying to use it for anything other than fondue would have made it inedible. There was no pumpernickel available at all. The pre-packed meats (sirloin and rib eye) didn't look much different than what you see at any other grocery store. When visiting upscale grocery stores I usually feel (and act) like a kid in a candy store and come out with twice the stuff I anticipated buying. This time I walked out with numerous items left on my list that they either didn't have or were fairly run of the mill for twice the price. TLDR; Extremely underwhelming 'upscale' grocery store. The service was very friendly and helpful, selection very limited (limited coffees, cheeses (no Appenzeller), bread (no pumpernickel)) and quality ranged from bad (emmentaler) to just OK. read more

Byerly's is a desperately needed higher scale grocery store in a city otherwise dominated by discount supermarkets. Even as a penny-pinching college student, I would come here to scout sales and specialty items. You'll be hard pressed to find the quality produce or organic selections at Cash Wise or Coborns. This is really the only FIVE STAR grocery store in town. Notable is the wide selection and the quality. The service and attentiveness of the cashiers and everyone truly sets them apart. This is hands down the best grocery store in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful, their samples are amazing, and the store is always clean, quiet, and pleasant. They carry many foods that are impossible to find at regular grocery stores, and their store brand products and deli/bakery products are always wonderful. In fact, I sometimes go across town just for their deli mashed potatoes and gravy. We don't do our regular grocery shopping here (because of distance) but whenever we need tasty baked goods or fancy cheeses this is our go-to. read more

Have you seen the dessert section at this place? I feel like a kid in candyland every time I walk by their fancy dessert section. I love that they have fresh sushi and some unique items specific to them. They also have a decent selection for organic foods. They do tend to be on the top of the price scale in terms of other local stores with similar offerings, but it is nice to have drive up service and call ahead, as well as a great selection and wonderful employees. read more
