Really good kebab, for a good price. This is one of the places i go to regularly for my kebab, and I would not likely change that soon.

The falafelrulle is 30SEK and is full of flavor, I think their sauces are really special.

Shukran Laziza. We arrived in Malmo on a Sunday afternoon. After checking into our hotel we…read morerealized we were quite hungry, but unfortunately a lot of food establishments we looked up were showing up closed until we saw Laziza was near our hotel and showing up as open. I personally am not a fan of buffets but my husband is Lebanese-Armenian & doesn't mind buffets & always wants Lebanese food when it's an option. I was a little apprehensive when we walked in because the hostess & waitresses were Swedish, but then I heard Arabic music & noticed the staff coming in/out of the kitchen to stock the food was speaking Arabic so I knew the food would be ok. My favorite items were the wrapped grape leaves & mini desserts. My grandmother & aunts used to make a lot of the same desserts so the flavors were very nostalgic & comforting. I can also appreciate how they had managed to make tiny delicate bite sized portions of each. I was impressed by that because these desserts are so intricate & difficult to make so making them into tinier pieces can't be easy. We had a lovely meal at Laziza and enjoyed our visit.

I often dine at Laziza Baltzarsgatan and Dockan because they have great food. Today (20th May 2022)…read moreat Dockan, I brought 2 guests with me from abroad and we came in at 11:08 Table 25. One of the guests was finishing food at 12:10 when we were approached by the waitress telling that the restaurant has 1 hr dine-in policy. Then the same waitress came back after 2 minutes telling me that "I have guests waiting outside." I was never aware of this policy and if this is a new one, no one told us at the cashier (By the way, the lady at the cashier was more accommodating). I was embarrassed that we were the only table and customers treated that way. This is frustrating that the waitress at Dockan branch was mainly targetting us and I was embarassed by this attitude with other customers looking at us. Also, we found that seats outside were available. I hope that the restaurant can look into this and train the staff to communicate properly with guests. Your food is no doubt highly recommended and other staff were warm and polite. However, this waitress telling us customers (who were obviously chewing last spoonful of food and the other having coffee) to leave the place twice in a span of 2 minutes was very rude. We left the place around 12:15.

The best Falafels in Malmö -- even Nina Persson of the Cardigans says so. But for the longest time…read moreI always got the kebab at Falafel No. 1. My first kebab experience was in Lund - served more like a cone, it had kebab meat, onion, tomato, salad and blended sauce (spicy and garlic). So when I tasted a crazy little pickle in that first bite of my kebab from Falafel No. 1, I didn't know what to think. Was this a single rogue pickle that found its way into my kebab rulle? Or were there...MORE? Oh, little pickle.... How I doubted you in that first bite. A little Tiffany Food-Quirk background.... I love pickles. However, whenever I find them on sandwiches, burgers, and pretty much everything that can contain a pickle, I usually pick them out and eat them. Separately. It's just what I do. Except at Falafel No. 1. These pickles just... work. Together. Lately, I've been ordering the the falafel and tabouli roll. The tabouli is really good and fresh, with just the right amount of lemon and mint. The falafels are always hot and crispy on the outside, never soggy. If you order falafels separately, they're 2kr a piece and you often get a few bonus. The gentlemen behind the counter making your food are always willing to accommodate "no's" and "extra's". And if you're lucky, you'll get to hear them sing along to the music. I lived across the street from Falafel No. 1 for 2 years. The food is fantastic, inexpensive, and always served with a smile. While this is fast food, and it probably meant my husband and I were working late and neither one of us had the time to cook or do dishes... I was proud to have this be my neighborhood falafel shop.

The orient house falafel No 1 is this year (2014) winner of the "Guldbollen" (the golden ball). And…read moreI must admit the orient house's fried vegetarian golden balls are truly delish and worthy of being the winner of best falafel award in Malmö which makes them most likely the best in the entire Sweden. I base this claim on the fact that falafel culture is pretty much a Malmö phenomenon with roots going back to the 80's. As street food, these golden made out of greens balls/buns are my favorite late night/early morning on a bender nib to devour. I also believe, and yes I know what placebo is, that falafel is a great prevention or treatment vs hangovers. The ones made at the Orient house do wonders let me assure you and this must also be because of some of the best creamy garlic sauce and humus I ever tasted that follow these golden buns. I especially love the fact that the rolls are pressed and grilled on a Panini grill giving it all also another texture and feeling. Pricewise no one can complain about the plates or rolls these guys serve, they do not hold back. Another plus in my book is the freshness of the veggies and herbs served and this is where many other places need to work hard on. They offer tons of variation to suit as many taste buds as possible but to me the classic falafel roll or falafel plate with chips is the best way to go. The only con as far as I am concerned is the décor. The place could benefit from a refurbishment as well as some more lights as it is a little too dark and gloomy. P.S they do serve other stuff, meaty stuff, but this review is only for the falafel which is my fav late night nib especially on the bend and because of the latest kebab meat scandals.

I would have no problem giving it 4 starts ,heck I would even make it a regular hang out. As one might suspect, due to the over-usage of the word heck, I am slightly annoyed by Occo. I don't think there are many restaurants in Sweden and particularly in its third biggest city Malmö that are this handsomely designed and carefully planned. Décor-wise this earth-tone-colors designed place is a hard one to beat; it is incredibly charming, warm and oriental. The oriental feeling and atmosphere is authentic but never cheesy or cheep. Occo feels actually pretty up scaled but ever so welcoming. It feels luxurious, grand and metropolitan thus very non Swedish which makes it so incredibly refreshing. This modern One Thousand and One Nights atmosphere is for instance granted by the shape/design of the windows, the lamps or the golden palm on the way to the dinning area. So far so good, you might even think excellent, but then you receive the menu and alarms start to sound. For a restaurant making all its cocktails with a premium vodka as well as offering pretty nice and accomplished champagnes the rest of the wine list seems particularity Lebanese. Don't get me wrong I have had great wines from Lebanon but 90% of all wines here are from Lebanon and that feels limiting. Speaking of limitations the next encounter is even worse; you can choose in between 3 Meze selections and that is all folks!! One mixed (with grill), one regular and one vegetarian and they basically contain except some meats added or replaced the same dishes. And to be honest the cold dishes are the stars of the game and those which replaced the meat on the regular version thus making it vegetarian are the weakest. The biggest problem is the limitation and the fact that you are deprived from the principal of pickin & choosin, an option that is synonymous with a Lebanese kitchen. The contrasts here are what makes it such a huge let down. Upon arriving the Décor makes it look so promising one can hardly wait for what more it is to come. But when seated and presented with the menu this place becomes one among all the other middle eastern places. Same tasty, but ever so ordinary, food without any twists. And is also a let down because I was excited to eat something new and other than the usual suspects such as tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, muhammara or falafel. After all I am pretty sure they do eat other things and I thought Occo of all places would guide me to the other, ever so secretive as it seems, dishes. Still Occo will get 3 stars rating and it is not a custom of mine to weight in the Décor in the rating but this time I am making an exception. Normally I would have given this place a 2 star rating after having made me gone though such turbulence but it never than less deserves a +1 just for the out of this world (read out of Sweden) grand design. I am also being forgiving and generous in terms of the overall value. The prices here are a bit too steep for the quantity and quality offered but I guess parts of it goes to cover the costs for such nicely designed place and atmosphere.
