A good friend, a licensed medical professional, suggested I try a hydration service instead of going to the ER. I searched the Internet for hydration services in my area and came across Thrive Wellness. I'm always looking for a way to save money and Thrive was offering a Labor Day discount. I booked the basic hydration package. They communicated very well after I submitted my information. Teresa, the provider, arrived at my home at the time she said she would. She was very friendly and explained everything she was doing and answered my many questions. I could immediately feel the difference in my energy once the process was complete. There was no more dizziness when I moved around too fast, and I was energized. I will definitely do this again in the future.

Dr. Edie was knowledgeable, caring, and gave excellent advice. The MedSpa itself is beautiful and relaxing. The staff at check-in is also friendly. In addition to an annual physical, I also scheduled a deep tissue massage with Shaprell Jones. It was amazing! Her approach is intentional and caring. Her ability to zero in on a tight area and concentrate her efforts to resolve the tension is impressive. The spa room is also very comfortable. The massage table is warm and Shaprell adds a special touch to the experience by placing a calming scent under the head rest to promote relaxation. You don't tell a client who has a history of BP spiking when seeing a healthcare provider that they'll need to leave after one reading. That automatically spikes it more. I was upfront that my BP spikes when I know a needle is coming (same as when I visit my physical therapist, my dentist, my pcp, etc). She wasn't even going to let me do a second reading, so of course my anxiety went up. As I mentioned, every other place I've gone to it drops significantly after the 1st reading BECAUSE the person is calm. If this is your lead, then a better bedside manner should be discussed. Procedures and protocols are essential, but how you carry them out and service clients is the key difference maker. Had planned to do my annual IV infusion prior to the Peachtree Road Race, so called and booked an appointment for day before race. Easy process and receptionist was nice. I arrived for my appointment and got checked in. The place is a bit smaller than some of the others I've been to but still nice. Receptionist was nice and offered water while i waited in the room to get my blood pressure checked by the nurse. I let the nurse know that i had a history of high bp and it always spikes when i see a doctor (especially knowing a needle is coming). I'm very much inflicted by white coat syndrome. In all my visits to other IV infusion places, my bp is high on the first reading and then drops, and the nurse is calm about it and says, "we'll wait until it lowers". But on this visit, the nurse told me, "you'll have to come back another day" after my first reading, which of course spiked it more and i had to ask her to check it again in a few. Not shockingky, it was higher on the second reading. She then said i needed to leave. As a competitive runner, i know my body very well and my medical history. I've had an echocardiogram and stress test done in the past few years bc of my bp and have a great cardiologist. I've covered my bases and have a fairly strict diet. To have a 20 something year old tell me "I'm on the verge of stroke levels" after me telling her about my history is kind of insulting. The receptionist was super nice as i was leaving and apologized, so thats one saving grace, but i will not be back to this location.

Every time I came over the years, I saw Dr. Eldred. I had never dealt with his wife, Ava, before this visit, and the difference in how I was treated was shocking. Dr. Eldred has always been kind, professional, and compassionate. My first experience with Ava was the complete opposite. I found her condescending, dismissive, unnecessarily hostile, and deeply lacking in compassion toward someone who was clearly sick and not feeling well. I came in severely anemic with a hemoglobin of 7.4 and waited nearly an hour expecting to receive my iron infusion. After all that time, Ava claimed she had already told me I needed to sign paperwork before I could receive treatment. That was not true. She never told me that. And in nearly six years of coming to this clinic for iron infusions, I had never once been told this before. When I corrected her and said, "You never told me that," rather than simply acknowledging the miscommunication, she responded, "I'm a doctor. I will not argue with you." I found that response incredibly arrogant and condescending. I was not arguing with her. I was correcting a statement about what had supposedly been communicated to me. Being a doctor does not mean you are incapable of making a mistake, nor should a medical title be used to talk down to a patient. What disturbed me most was her complete lack of compassion. I was severely anemic, weak, and already not feeling well. Instead of being treated with basic empathy, I felt as though I was dealing with hostility and a power struggle. A sick patient should not have to manage a provider's ego on top of managing their own health. She told me I needed to go to the emergency room. Because of how unpleasant the interaction had become, I was completely fine with not receiving care from her. I simply scheduled another appointment for a different day with Dr. Eldred, the physician I had trusted for nearly six years. Ava then went into the system and canceled my future appointment with Dr. Eldred. That crossed a line for me. I was not trying to schedule with her again. I had chosen to continue care with a doctor with whom I had a longstanding relationship while actively dealing with severe anemia. Based on the sequence of events I personally experienced, I was left with the strong impression that her personal feelings about our interaction mattered more than my ability to continue receiving care. I want to be clear that I still have wonderful things to say about Dr. Eldred. My experiences with him for nearly six years were positive, and that is exactly why this is so disappointing. My experience with his wife was the complete opposite. I found her behavior cold, condescending, vindictive, and lacking in empathy. I would not recommend dealing with Ava, especially if you are sick, vulnerable, or expecting basic compassion from a medical provider. To make matters worse, the clinic now appears to use an AI system to answer the phone, making it extremely difficult to reach a human being or even request Dr. Eldred directly. After nearly six years as a patient, I never imagined I would be writing this review. Dr. Eldred was wonderful to me for years.
