They were an hour late for setup, which caused them to setup while our guest were in the midst of our cocktail hour. They were unresponsive to the numerous phone calls and text messages our wedding coordinator, my sister and myself made hours before the event took off. My wedding party and I had to take time away from our photoshoot and hosting guests at our reception to call to find out where they were. When they did show up they parked their truck and trailer in front of our venue and proceeded to unload and run their bar setup through the middle of our photoshoot and the front door. We have had friends and family make comments about the absurdity of events that transpired at the front door of our wedding venue to which we were both extremely embarrassed. Their unresponsive, unprofessional and lack of sensitivity to our event had caused added stress and complication to my wife causing her to have a momentary breakdown. We called to discuss this with Bash a few days after our wedding, they were more than happy to take our full payment weeks ahead of our wedding but only offered apologies and excuses as to why they were unresponsive and late. During our phone call marginalized our wedding and their impact on our photoshoot and cocktail hour. If you have an event, especially a wedding, that you care about going off without an issue we would suggest finding another vendor to host your bartending needs. They had a great variety of packages and we opted to provide most items on our own since my in-laws wanted to be involved in picking out beer and wine. They arrived on time and got everything set up looking great. When they realized we forgot to get ice, Melodie immediately went out to the store to grab the supplies we needed. Saving our beer from being room temperature for our guests. The two of them managed the bar for all our 160 guests and there was never a huge line or bottleneck. They were super popular with our guests and I think a number of them wish they lived closer to Denver so they could hang out . Overall Black Tie Beverages made our wedding day super smooth and all of our guests had a great time. When we went through our wedding gifts we even discovered they gave us a sweet gift, such a nice, personal touch.

He'd called earlier in the week to verify the location (we were in the warehouse of a nursery--an odd location to be sure), which put me at ease that they were organized and prepared. He brought the bar and set up shop quickly. He was great with our guests and did a great job. I can't say enough about how easy to work with they were. I'd recommend them without hesitation and would definitely use them again.

The people I dealt with at the company over the phone were fine but the bartender that came to our event was pretty terrible. I'll grant that our venue was somewhat difficult (an elevator and 2 flights of stairs) but I told the company that ahead of time. The transgressions: First, we had put out a jar that said "Honeymoon Fund. You are our guest and we will tip the bartender on your behalf, no tips necessary." The bartender pushed it aside and put out her own tip jar. Not cool. When my husband told her we didn't want the tip jar out she kept the (decent amount of money, it had been out for an hour) that was in it and proceeded to argue with him. Eventually the tip jar went behind the bar but you don't expect to argue with a bartender at your wedding. Next, she complained to several of our guests about what a pain the venue was. So sorry lady, things my guests shouldn't have to hear about. Plus, we paid you. It's not like you're pouring wine out of the kindness of your heart. Further, she didn't have to carry or even do that much. We had brought all the alcohol up in advance. Next, (yes, it keeps going) she disappeared multiple times during the night. It's cool, people will just help themselves to the wine. Next, at the end of the night she continued to complain to our wedding party and told them to carry the empty wine bottles out to the recycling. It wasn't her job, she told them. Finally, and probably most egregiously, after she kept the first hours tips AND we tipped her out at the end of the night (as well as let her keep some of the extra beer) she told her company that we didn't tip her and that we would tip her using the visa card on file. Thankfully they called to check with me before charging but it's pretty insane to get terrible service and then get an urgent sounding phone message from With a Twist only to have them ask for more money for a tip. Totally insane. Look, maybe other bartenders that work for this company are fine and maybe they shouldn't have sent a solo woman bar tender to a venue with lots of stairs but that shouldn't have been my problem. Impressively disappointing.

We even got to attend a wine tasting event to help us narrow in on the wines we wanted to serve. Lily and peaked helped us customize an espresso martini drink (Espresso Toshini for our cat, Toshi) and gave us details on what types of drink toppers an signage would work best. On the day of the wedding, our Peak team really kept the party going by helping customize guests' drinks and serving them up with a fun attitude.
