The Experience The staff here are pros. They'll ask which knotty areas need extra attention and check in regularly to make sure the pressure isn't making you rethink your life choices. Whether you want a gentle touch or a full-on "hurts-so-good" experience, they've got you. The Treatments Chalalai doesn't do cookie-cutter massages; they specialize in Balinese, Lomi Lomi, and Thai styles. Each one is its own mini adventure: * Balinese: Think smooth palm strokes, oils, and a level of relaxation that feels borderline indulgent. It's perfect for melting away stress. Bonus: they wipe off the oil at the end, so you don't leave feeling like a glazed donut. * Lomi Lomi: This one's all about the forearms. It's rhythmic, fluid, and slightly more intense--like a Balinese massage that hit the gym. * Thai: No oil, no underwear drama. You suit up in a loose kimono and get stretched, bent, and folded like a human origami project. It's weirdly satisfying and will leave you feeling like you've just discovered five new muscles. The Space Clean, serene, and perfectly organized, Chalalai is a true oasis. The treatment rooms vary in size, so whether you're flying solo or bringing a friend to share the zen, they've got options. Overall Chalalai isn't just a massage; it's an experience. Whether you want to recover from a long-haul flight or just need someone to untangle your life's stress from your back, this place delivers every time. Trust me--this should be on everyone's Madrid itinerary.

Pros: * The space is really nice and very clean and professional. * Each client has their own private room, which makes it feel more comfortable and private. * One hour is more than enough for a full treatment. Cons / Notes: * The massage style is NOT traditional Thai. Both times it felt much closer to deep tissue or even rolfing, not the stretching and rhythmic pressure you'd expect from Thai. * When I asked, the therapist explained they "have to do half-half," meaning they mix Thai with European deep tissue techniques. * If you want authentic Thai massage like in Thailand, you need to specifically ASK for a Thai therapist from Thailand and state clearly that you want traditional Thai. Overall: I'd give this place four stars as great environment and professional service, but important for customers to know the style is hybrid unless you request otherwise.

I first went to Hammam Al Andalus, but the massage was not deep/firm at all and I had difficulty communicating with the masseuse. At Mthai, the receptionist spoke English, and even accommodated my last minute request to switch to Thai style full body (from head neck shoulders) with the same gender. Lucy did a fantastic massage and I was healed from all the damage of the trip. Thanks so much!!

If you have an injury, tell them. If you are there for four or more days, make two appointments so you don't end up sore. It is a better for an injury not to do too much. I have a leg and hip injury where I need massage and stretching by people that know what they are doing. Augustine was constantly checking in on how I was doing. They ask you what you are comfortable with. Do you prefer this or that? You can keep all your clothes on to stripping down to the disposable thong. You are always covered.
