My second visit 7 or 8 weeks later with the same stylist didn't look as good. The contrast between blond and brown barely noticable. My third visit with the same stylist was way too dark brown. The blond highlights were narrow evenly spaced streaks and looked so fake because they were so symetrical. I cancelled future appointments because I could not get consistant results. Also, at a new place today they reported that my hair was severly damaged from over bleaching during foils. For basic services this place is fine. But they do not have an understanding of how to protect hair from further damage by over processing.

The move was stressful and it was time for a de-stressing, pleasant change. Self Care is important! At the end of the hair treatment, my friend was more stressed leaving than going in. I included stock images of what a proper balayage should look like, and the second photo is the treatment my friend walked out with. As an honest friend, I had to tell my girl that she had gotten 2000's highlights that were cut off before the roots. The benefit of the doubt is that this is the first balayage this stylist has ever attempted. The groupon didn't include a cut, just the balayage, which, okay - that's reasonable. But the stylist did charge more just because my friends hair was slightly thick and wavy, and not a 1 or 2a curl pattern??? The stylist then tried to detangle and straighten (flatten) my friend's hair which isn't the most flattering style for balayage. The stylist also tried to use a de-tangling solution rather than a cream, oil, or leave in conditioner. My friend, bless her soul, still tipped her stylist for the effort. But please, please do research before attempting another balayage.

Not only were they able to get me in for a same-day appointment, the entire staff was incredibly friendly, even when I showed up a few minutes late. (Side note: this is in the same strip mall as Walker Brothers, not the one with Toys R Us.) The biggest win: José did a fantastic job cutting and styling my hair, taking off minimal length and transforming my self-described mangy mane to a polished style.
