I went to 4 different wedding dress shops in Seattle and one in London in my quest for the perfect dress. Luly Yang was far and away the best experience I had. I bought a dress from the Enzoani range, which is one of the cheaper lines that they have, but I couldn't have been treated better if I'd been spending $10,000 on a bespoke gown. What's really nice about this place is that you get really personal service in your own private room, not fighting for mirror space with a bunch of other women trying on dresses around you. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. Twice I was really late for appointments because of traffic and they always managed to accommodate me and were really sweet about it. They helped me with hair accessories and jewelery and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they carry some really affordable accessories. My wedding is overseas so it was really important that my dress would be ready well in advance for me to travel with. The staff were really clear about how far in advance I needed to order, what the schedule for alternations would need to be and gave me great tips on travel ling with my dress. The alterations were stress free and they did a great job - particularly with the bustling. The store does look a little intimidating from the outside and if you want a dress that costs a few hundred dollars then this probably isn't the place to go - but if your price range is over $1,500 then it's definitely worth checking out. read more

I had an awesome wedding dress appointment. It was my first time trying on dresses and Nini did a wonderful job making me feel comfortable. She was patient and sweet while also doing a great job of listening to what I said and narrowing it down to what I am looking for in a dress - I definitely wasn't sure when I walked in. I highly recommend getting an appointment with Nini! She doesn't pressure you, she genuinely wants you to find THE dress. The reserved room is beautiful and it was perfect - my mom, grandma, and cousin had comfy and cute chairs to sit on. The only bummer was that halfway through my hour and a half appointment, another consultant poked her head in to ask if some people could come in look around. There was a lot of "umm.. Well..." where I was clearly uncomfortable but I said yes because I didn't want to be the one to say no. She made it clear that I could say no but honestly I don't think that should have been put on me and when I was that uncomfortable she should have taken the cue to say no to the other people. I would knock off a half star for that if I could but since I can't do 4.5 stars, I'll round up. Thankfully Nini was so amazing and the other people weren't in there too long that it didn't ruin my experience. read more

Had I not been offered a free dress, I would have been a LY bride. Coming to this place is far the best amongst the few bridal stores we've visited. Besides the elegant and most beautifully made bridal gowns, the top notch service by sales associate, JENNIFER, made the experience most memorable. She made us feel very well accommodated. She gave us her full attention. She had such thorough knowledge of each gown down to the most intricate details..very sweet lady! And oh! They do the alterations themselves so that's a plus. I can't believe I haven't written this sooner. I love Luly Yang! My sister bought her dress here at a sample sale. She is a bit of a crazy bride and tried it on no less than 12 times!!! The atmosphere is incredible and I love the appointment only aspect. I'm sorry but when I'm trying on my dress I really don't want another bride right next to me. They know how to make you feel special. They altered a dress that I bought somewhere else (which they don't normally do) and it turned out perfect. I recently visited LYC to help one of my girlfriends shop for her wedding dress, and wow! The customer service is impeccable. The sales people are very kind and not the pushy kind that you can often find at other boutiques. They offer valuable consultation for your gown selection, and we didn't even have to make an appointment. Walked right in, and they helped us promptly. My sister-in-law found this magical place while we were at my very first bridal appointment near by on 6/23/18. I was so disappointed at that first place and she felt and saw it. She secretly made an appointment at the lovely Luly Yang (L.Y.) for a few hours later. Walking into L.Y. we were all blown away not only from the fabulous displays outside but the inventory within. From the warm welcome from the staff I knew this second appointment would be a total 180 degree turnaround. We looked through am AMAZING inventory of wedding gowns, we had a great time doing so. I tried on several that I loved but when the lovely Ms. Fatima put me in THE ONE. It was over from there :) I thank her so much for taking us in, giving us a tour of her amazing selections and putting me in the most beautiful Badgley Mischka dress of my dreams!!! I felt like a fashion-forward blinged out princess in it!!! Fatima's follow-through with providing me the details of the dress (which after purchasing it I forgot the name of the designer and wanted pictures of it because EVERYONE wanted to know what fabulous dress this girl was wearing ;) The customer service was top notch, the sale I got to partake in was amazing, and the inventory was like no other boutique. I love this shop. I was looking few months back for a wedding dress. I went to many other wedding dress shops but couldn't find the ONE wedding dress. I couldn't find the dress because I felt the services and informations in the other dress shops were not good, they just wanted to sell the dresses and that's it. I pass by every morning on the way to work at Luly Yang shop and saw all niece and lovely dresses at window; so I thought I should give it a try. I was helped by Fatima. I've been walking past Luly Yang for years, and I always stopped to stare at the dresses in the windows. Her clothing is genuinely artwork, so beautiful and feminine, I dreamed of someday buying my wedding dress there. I call it "the princess store." Recently, I got engaged, and I went straight to the princess store. Casey did my consultation, and she was wonderful! It was a glorious experience from the moment I walked through the door. She helped me try on several dresses and even matched veils with them to complete the image. I felt like a VIP in their store, because they have such a great way with customers. And best of all, the dresses look even more beautiful on than they look in the window! I loved each one I tried, and it was not in doubt for a moment that I was going to buy one, it was only a question of which. They were also kind enough to let me store my dress on site after purchase, so I wouldn't have to hide it from my fiance. As I was leaving, Casey gave me a gift bag to celebrate my engagement! It had little journals and chocolates, and I thought it was so classy and such a lovely gesture. I can't honestly imagine choosing any other store for something as special and once in a lifetime as your wedding dress! Shopping with Fatima at Luly Yang is an exceptional experience! I was nervous to dress shop at first and on a short lead time for my wedding. Fatima is a great listener and intuitive when it comes to understanding style- she \ curated her suggestions to styles that felt like "me" and put me totally at-ease in the process. Not only did she make great suggestions, she also was very fast to respond over email prior to the appointment, and worked extensively to problem solve for the short lead time and went above and beyond to present me with options. The range of dresses at Luly Yang is well balanced and gorgeous. The room that we tried on gowns in is beautiful and has all of the accessories displayed throughout to easily try along with the dress. Looking at their web site, it indicates that you need an appointment for dress fittings. However, it doesn't say that you basically need an appointment just to go look at hair accessories. I stopped in here a few days ago hoping to look at some accessory options and was informed that I needed an appointment because there was a bride trying on dresses. They did offer to ask the bride if it was ok if I go into the dress/showroom area during her fitting, but why should I interrupt her experience? I declined. Really, they just need to state clearly on the site that you should make an appointment if you want to go to the shop for any reason. Which is sort of ridiculous in and of itself, but if they had stated that upfront, I wouldn't argue. When you're a very busy bride with tons of errands to run in the last month before you're wedding, you certainly don't need to waste time going out of your way to go to a shop that can't accommodate you - so just a word to the wise - you most definitely need an appointment no matter what you're stopping in for. read more

Please, please please DON'T buy your dress here unless you want to leave in tears! My wedding is fast approaching and my dress is too short. I did everything right! Brought the shoes I am wearing but I went to my fitting and the dress is 1.5 inches to short!! They left on 1/4 inch hem and want to charge me $250 to fix their mistake and they won't even be able to make the dress long enough!! Everything is beautiful but not worth the heartache you leave with having a dress that you paid thousands of dollars for not fit with no options for successfully repairing and no accountability!!! read more

I've waited a while to finally right this review... here goes nothing! I went to Luly Yang after trying on 40+ dresses in multiple states(I got engaged and soon after moved to Seattle), everything from Lazaro to Vera Wang. My initial appointment was filled with trying on many of the beautiful Luly dresses as well as Enzoani. LYC has dresses at all price points which is great, and they make each visit to the store a true experience. I found a few styles during that initial visit that I liked, but nothing was giving me the "I found my dress!" feeling. My consultant, Meg, took down the information and allowed me to schedule a follow up visit. A few weeks passed and I decided to return for a couture appointment. If you know what you want and can't find something that fits the mold, this is the place to create it! Meg and I pulled 6 or 7 dresses with similar overall shapes. We then proceeded to drape different fabrics and sashes over these existing designs. I literally picked out everything from the french lace to the buttons and Meg created detailed sketches that documented exactly what the dress would look like. She also was a great sounding board for ideas and it's always nice to work with someone that has impeccable style. It is a little unnerving to spend $5K plus on a dress you've never actually tried on but LYC makes sure you are comfortable with every detail. Every couture gown price includes alterations which also allows you to tweak changes as the final product develops. Meg even helped me created a detachable train (Kate Middleton style)! They are so flexible and always very response, I've been in an annoying number of times (6 times at this stage). I ended up selecting a custom luly sash ($500) for the big day, and I swear on my life there is not one out there that could top this one- it gently balances chic and romantic and the intricate detail is amazing. I also appreciated the ability to purchase a veil and shoes on site. LYC was a one stop shop for me and I could not be happier with the experience. I recently decided to purchase a reception dress and went with a floor length Nicole Miller dress, from LYC of course. Needless to say I've had a love affair with LYC and Meg for the past 9 months and could not be more excited to dawn my custom Luly in a few short months. I have one last fitting left before my wedding in September and I truly can not wait. Meg is a magician... Go see her ASAP! read more

I do not recommend LYC for their branded designer dresses unless you don't mind spending about 15% more. I purchased a dress at LYC only to find out that they markup their prices significantly above retail price, including the designer's website price. We live in the age of Ecommerce so be wary before shopping here as their pricing policies are way out of tune with the industry and as a customer you will not pay a fair price. read more

I had passed by the boutique on the way to work every morning when I was working downtown, and I had been meaning to go in for quite some time. My mother happened to be visiting Seattle and we were downtown for an art show that I was covering a couple of blocks away. We decided, quite spontaneously, to stop in Luly Yang--and not without some degree of trepidation. Meg, a design consultant, put my fears to rest. She greeted us warmly and was very helpful (without hovering) during our visit. She was affable, informative, and kind. Although my mom and I were there "just for fun" that day, the exceptional customer service will ensure that I return for another visit. The collection of beautiful gowns speaks for itself, of course; let me not forget about the dresses my mom and I were drooling over--but a chic look alone is not all that I look for when browsing couture. After bring referred by a friend to check out Luly Yang Couture, I made an appt and went in with my mom and aunt. Our experience was TERRIFIC. My mom and aunt could not stop gushing abut the service and the quality of the dresses. I found SEVERAL that I liked so I made a second appt to come back and decide. I never thought I could find my wedding dress in this shop! It looks glamorous and exclusive I get in only for curiosity. The people who works there are very attentive and very friendly, I perfectly remember that I chose 5 dresses that I liked and went into my budget. Was the second dress I tried on and when I saw it I knew that was the one, my mom, sister and niece who were with me did not like at the first impression, but after all the details were perfect! Super excited and after 4 appointments to fit perfectly I went out in love with my dress. In these 4 appointments were all very flexible because I wanted to lose weight and they agreed and supported me to finish the dress 5 days before my big day. It was a bit risky but I trusted that they would not look bad as it is a very privileged store. I was so grateful that they were able to let me browse through the gowns, and we even had time to squeeze in trying on a couple of wedding dresses sans appointment. Wow! Since picking out my ring at EE Robbins, I have been just dying to try on wedding dresses. I went to Luly Yang without an appointment and they were so nice. They told me that I could look until the next appointment came in, which totally makes sense. She has the most beautiful styles I have ever seen. I want to start out by first saying that I love, love, love my wedding dress. I actually wasn't planning on purchasing a dress and Luly because I feared it would be out of my price range. However, I found my dress here, and it was reasonably priced. I fell in love with the dress when I first put it on, and I even shed a few tears because it was so beautiful. My consultant was enthusiastic and friendly, and so helpful. After I bought my dress, my consultant was not quite as helpful. I had requested a dress swatch from my consultant via email so I could look for shoes, and she told me to imagine a color wheel and white was in the middle and grey was on the left and yellow was on the right. I was to look for shoes that were more toward the grey side. This was not enough for me to find shoes. She said she would get back to me about the swatch. She never did. When I requested a swatch a few weeks later via a second email, my consultant told me to just stop by with my shoes as my dress had come in. I live about 3 hours from Seattle so this was not practical for me. I called my consultant, and she said that Enzoani was not sending a swatch. She said she would keep trying and get back to me. She never got back to me. I called Enzoani myself (twice), and I was told that they have swatches available for all dresses. They unfortunately only send swatches to stores and not to individual customers. I called Luly three times (and spoke with different staff people each time) over the course of a couple of weeks, and I was assured I would receive a call back. I never did. Upon my 4th call back, I spoke with the staff member I had spoken to upon my first call. He said he would cut a piece of fabric that was an exact match to the color of my dress and put it in the mail. Why hadn't they thought of this in the first place??? It took me 2 about 2 months to get that swatch. I had two alterations appointments done at Luly, and I met with the same consultant during these times. She was still very friendly and answered any questions I had. Alterations were very expensive (about of what I paid for the dress). When I went to try the dress on a final time, I noticed that bra cups were not put in the dress. I paid $25 to have them put in. When I mentioned it to my consultant, she quickly peeked inside the dress while I was wearing it, and said, "Oh! They must be sewn inside." She did not take a second look once I took off the dress. I took her word for it (which I shouldn't have), but when I got the dress home, I took a closer look, and it was clear nothing had been sewn on the inside of the dress. I called Luly, and fortunately, my consultant said I could either bring the dress back or receive a refund. I requested a refund, and my consultant followed up to tell me that I should see that refund on my credit card. I appreciated that, and was glad that someone finally followed up with me! Although I was annoyed at the customer service at Luly, I loved my dress. I received and continue to receive many compliments on my dress. I loved the way it looked on me as the alterations were great, and was so pleased with the outcome. read more

I bought my wedding dress here over the summer. Meg was my consultant and was great! She let us bring champagne and provided glasses for my mom and friends. Even though we went over the time limit at our appointment she didn't mention it. The seamstress was amazing and did two fittings for me and the finished product was beautiful. And then Meg inspected the dress after the final fitting (because I don't live in Seattle) and packed it up and shipped it to my wedding for super cheap! the staff are helpful until you sign that contract. once you pay the money for your wedding gown, they stop helping. my dress was 4 weeks later than they had promised. so i could not even decide on the accessories and veil because i was waiting until the last minute to try on the dress. the tailoring was terrible and the seam down the front was CROOKED! for a "couture" bridal salon, the sewing was very poor. when i asked them to fix the crooked seam, they did not do a proper job but merely pinched the seam to make it slightly better. my wedding pictures clearly show that the seam is crooked. finally, when i had to finally order my veil, due to their delay, i had to rush order my veil for an added rush charge that cost over $100. also, if you drive to the salon, each visit costs an arm and a leg for parking in the city. read more

Fatima thank you for your calm demeanor and laughs while I was in a dress crisis due another salons error. A different salon ordered my dress in a size 12 when it should have been a 4. My seamstress tried 4 different times to take in my original dress, but just weeks before the wedding we had to move on to try and find another dress. I literally searched high and low across the greater Seattle area and came up with nothing....until I got a call back from the lovely ladies at Luly Yang who said they may have a dress off the rack close to my size. I left work and sped down to Luly Yang and immediately loved that first dress Fatima showed me. The seamstress who assisted was so patient and helpful in suggesting changes we could make to the dress to make it work. They sent me pictures of the changes to help me feel at ease they were making quick progress on the dress with my short timeline to have it completed. I would absolutely recommend wedding dress shopping at Luly Yang. I originally purchased a dress from another shop. That original dress designer stopped making it in white (yes a wedding dress designer that doesn't carry white was a bit shocking). At that point I started to worry that I wouldn't have a dress and looked at several stores. The Luly Yang experience was so different than any other boutiques. Jennifer Stelmakh was absolutely amazing and so knowledgeable - hands down amazing. The quality of a Luly dress is terrific, styles are unique and classic and the Luly Boutique really gives you a personal experience. In addition their alterations staff is incredible. I heard stories about huge alterations charges by other boutiques and was again blown away by Luly Yang's great customer service from start to finish. Then to top it off the day before our wedding my sister accidentally torn a small area on my veil. No problem! The veil was taken to the Luly Yang store immediately and they fixed it and delivered it back to the hotel. Start to finish, the Luly Yang staff made the bridal gown experience stress-free, memorable, and best of all helped make a girl feel incredibly beautiful to marry the guy of her dreams.
