We stopped in because we were both on the hunt for work boots and Carhartt's. Upon entry, an awesome table with fishing paraphernalia, which was great to see since I've been tying flies to get prepped for the season. No fly tying supplies, but plenty of quality gear in the store! The staff was super nice and quick to offer assistance! We were browsing but the moment we were in the footwear section, there was someone there to assist with sizes. Excellent selection of workwear for women, plenty of Carhartt's and Dovetail clothes with sizes from 0-24 that I was able to see. A helpful gentleman mentioned that if my size wasn't on the rack, they'd be happy to check a small supply in the back and also their downtown store. That's was great to know, since I forgot about the downtown location. They have a couple of dressing rooms for trying on items prior to purchase. Although we didn't find boots for my husband, I did pick up some Dovetail work pants and overalls that are not only functional, but attractive too. Everyday clothes men's, women & children...blue collar work clothing, high vis, sportsman wear, boots & shoes and a nice selection of fishing gear to boot! They offer a rewards program, birthday coupons and veteran's discount to boot! Big Ray's is definitely worth a stop!

All the clerks were incredibly nice and the customer service was outstanding. I went in to buy a cowboy hat because the shipping for other retailers was absolutely astronomical to Alaska, and I was excited to see that the hats were the same price online without the value being at all inflated by shipping. Overall, Anchorage Boot Barn is a fantastic place to go if you're looking for any sort of work wear or western attire in Anchorage!

Their space is clean with wood floors. There seemed to be just as much clothing items as there were footwear. Since a few employees were present, we were assisted immediately. Our worker seemed new, but efficient and eager to please. We came to find a comfortable walking shoe for my dad and luckily found something in the Hoka brand that we hoped would work. The Alaska Walking Store does not give cash refunds FYI. Most shoes are at least $99, so take your time. Luckily, you ARE able to make exchanges at any of their locations (2, currently).

The service on the other hand was atrocious. The staff was cold and glared at me. I did not feel like a customer but a criminal waiting to be caught. I bought the best running bra ever---always an embarrassing experience, but these ladies didn't make me feel uncomfortable at all. They have a great selection of running bras, even the one they call the Oprah bra because that's what she wears (and you know how big and bouncy she is!) I took a peek at their swimsuits (also a somewhat embarrassing buying experience) and was impressed by the selection of styles and prices, nothing too sexy-beachy, but real swimwear for real, and real-sized women who swim. In the past I've had to order online because I thought (wrongly) that I couldn't find a good swimsuit in Alaska, but I'll definitely buy my next one here.

BUT Circular's clothing and jewelry are so beyond just "better" than what you usually find in Anchorage. I really think it would be my go-to store if I still lived in Seattle or San Diego. It helps that the owner and employees are class acts- knowledgeable and never snotty. Ex: I ordered about 5 dresses from Revolve.com for Christmas parties this season, and none of them worked. I walked into Circular and within a few minutes had 3 excellent options, all of which were less expensive than the dresses I had ordered online. I'm so grateful Anchorage has this wonderful shop.
