I think the quality will heavily depend on the masseuse you are assigned to. I thought mine was okay, she was mostly receptive to changing the level of strength. If you have some pain like I do a massage can provide some relief. My critique is I would prefer if the masseuse does not touch the facial area after massaging the legs and feet for hygiene reasons. More on the tipping: I paid over 20% and the masseuse very loudly expressed her displeasure as I left. Not directly to me, just sort of at me ‍ Needless to say it is a very nasty way to leave an establishment where you are supposed to come out relaxed. I try to be balanced with how I view things--this is a level of massage that is objectively more affordable than "western style" spas. It makes sense that a place would market a lower price and hope for a higher tip. However, a 30% tip is unconventional and should not be expected. There are some coffee shops that will charge 5$ for a latte and some that charge 8$, but it is not as if the former will expect you to tip more just because they decided to have a lower price. If this is that important to the spa, they need to be upfront about it. It is not up to the guest to read your mind about something that is not standard.

When I arrived, Louis was summoned and after reading some of the reviews about him, I knew he was the right person for the massage. I will admit, the place was a lot bigger than expected. I was a little intimidated by the open room, but relieved to find that I was being sent to a private room. Louis gave me a moment to undress and then he got to work. Stretching, pressing, bending, pulling...I felt a bit like a Stretch Armstrong doll, but he was incredibly thorough. He was also careful to make sure I was comfortable and not overtaxed. I did advise of problem areas and he took special attention to those. I could literally feel the knots in areas that he was actively working on. I went with an hour, not knowing what to expect. At $60, it was quite a bargain for a very good quality massage. I paid via Zelle, was offered tea and was on my way. I did give Louis a $20 tip, which he earned every cent of. I don't know if I can make this a regular habit, but if so this is absolutely the place.

It's important to know that the type of massages they give here is the traditional Chinese-style acupressure, not a spa-like oil rubbing massage. I specifically come here to get deep tissue work and get my muscles loosened up. For some people, it might not feel super comfortable or relaxing in the moment because it's much more similar to a sports medicine massage, but the results are entirely worth it. I specifically book with therapist Li from Shanghai (note: there are two therapist Li's working here!). He is absolutely amazing, and my whole family has been getting massages from him for many, many years. While he doesn't speak a lot of English, his skills speak for themselves and he does amazing work. I always feel like I am completely reborn after a session with him. Yay, victory!! We booked a 1-hour couples Thai massage with Mona and Bee, and once the massage started, all that parking nuisance disappeared. I asked Mona to attack the stubborn knots in my traps, and wow... she ironed those things out really well!!!! It wasn't exactly gentle, but that's how I like it!! By the end, I felt loose, relaxed, and about 10 pounds lighter from all the tension. Yes, they do step on you, but only after asking first, so don't panic!! Afterward, they served hot tea and rice crackers, which was the perfect little cooldown. And please, tip your massage therapist well!! They work hard, and making people forget life's chaos for an hour deserves some love!!! A few things I'd do differently next time: * They provide shared shorts and an open-back tank top. My microbiology brain couldn't stop thinking about it, so I'm bringing my own clothes next visit. * Hubby had a reaction to the massage oil/balm.
