I invited my mom to have a dinner date with me because she's been living in Hong Kong for many years, and she absolutely loves Chinese food! Before you even enter the restaurant, you can really see how well they've decorated the restaurant! From the entrance, to the ceilings, walls, tables, absolutely everything! They serve the usual Chinese food, like siomai, Hakaw, Pork Buns, and the like.. But they've also got unique dishes I've never heard of or seen anywhere else like their Northern Style Lamb Dumplings, and their Minced Lamb wrapped in Pancake with leeks (this dish was delish!) We ordered a lot of food like the Smoked Duck Breast in Hoisin Wrap! I love duck and this dish is so good and contains a lot of vegetables! Their chicken dishes are also quite known to those who have tried them because of how good they are... I especially LOVE their sweet and sour chicken and their Honey Sesame Crispy chicken too!

Opting for a quick bite, we had pork and chive dumplings which were a tad bit small but big in size. Love the hint of star anise in its filling and black vinegar dipping sauce that came with it (I usually request for black vinegar at other dimsum places). On the other hand, the beef Hofan was pretty good and textbook stir fry- good balance of flavor and textures. Both dishes came too oily but that's synonymous with Chinese comfort food!

Sure, it's loaded with vitamins and nutrients but if it tastes like cardboard then it completely takes away the joy of eating. Contrary to what most people believe, you don't always have to sacrifice flavor for nutrition and Yin Yang's Chinese Fresh Lumpia shows us how it's done. Its shredded cabbage and carrot, rolled in a soft lumpia wrapper. Inside you would find nuts, nori and seaweed. Topped with a sweet sauce, Yin Yang's lumpia is proof that eating right can actually taste good. Tips: 1. Have one before going to the grocery. This helps you cut down on junk food shopping. 2. Best to buy the lumpia before noon. I find that it tastes better. 3. You can order a box for take-out too.

The first time I tried it, I was actually a bit confused with the taste at it leans more towards nutty and sweet, unlike most lumpias that are mostly garlicky. I did fall in love with it after a few bites, and it's always been a place for me to grab a quick snack at Town. It's located at the food court, which is perfect because I pair this with a fresh fruit smoothie. Perfect afternoon snack! Also, not expensive! Both tummy and wallet are satisfied.

The tough part is that everything is geared for larger groups. The entree was large and meant for sharing. Also, there were any small tables. Everything was set up for larger parties. The Phoenix Court in Bellevue is a fancy restaurant in the heart of Alabang's Business district…read more It's actually my second time there and the experience remains the same - excellent! Once you step inside the Phoenix court, you will be greeted by female food attendants dresses in qipao- the traditional Chinese dress. You will be brought one of the many tables inside. We always choose the round table (not sure if there's a square) because we normally have lunch there as a team. It makes it easy for us to talk to each other while waiting for our food. The food is something you'd normally find in m the menu of similarly-themed hotel restaurants. We had chicken fillet with almonds and walnuts, a seafood and egg platter, beef brocolli, fried chicken in caramel sauce, fried cuttlefish and sweet and sour pour. I've tasted all of these from different restaurant's and I can't say there's something special. They all taste the same. The staff are always at your beck and call, ever ready to take additional order or refill your water goblet. There was one staff though who spoke to our bossin the vernacular when he knew my boss who was with us that day is Chinese! So is it worth the price? Sadly no. You're better off eating somewhere because the food at the Phoenix Court is nothing to write about. I guess if you're in the area and is looking for a place big enough to treat a huge group, this here is perfect.
