Private rooms (at least in my case) share bathrooms…read more Not a big deal, as there seemed to be enough bathrooms, and they were cleaned daily and seemed to stay pretty clean throughout the full week of my stay. Pros: courtyard, lobby seating, quiet hours enforced, friendly staff (exception: Sunday-AM girl was working harder than anyone I've ever seen to ignore a queue of guests, requiring us to verbally interrupt her to get her attention even for a moment - everyone else was superbly kind and helpful!). Cons: as in much of Germany, the wifi infrastructure for the bandwidth demands are outstripped by the needs of the customers - consequence: internet was spotty except for in the lobby, and sometimes it crashed altogether (it seemed frequently to emit dead signals to the room areas of the hostel/hotel). The cost (at €43/nt) was competitive with all comparables but is not an amazing deal for the overall picture. It depends: The beds are firm, which I prefer. If you like a soft bed, this is not a comfy situation for you. And no AC, but plenty of air flow, so it didn't matter for me in mid June.

It's tight in here. But not bad. It's not a major complaint. Also, modern chairs are not comfortable at all. So come on hotel people, stop trying to be cool and buying fancy chairs that hurt your butt. The major complaint, if I have to have one, is that the bar and restaurant close so early! And there aren't that many options at the bar. If I want to chill and relax with my coworkers, there is a much cooler bar experience at Nhow Berlin. Also, while it does feel European, it doesn't give any feeling of being in Germany - other than the TV options, I could be at any Holiday Inn around the world. Oh yes, please guys, some English channels would be most appreciated! Overall, this is a fine place, and I'd stay here again. Not bad for the price!

Even though the rooms are really small, kinda like a Holiday Inn Express, they're big enough to fulfill the purpose of sleeping there. I had a double room with one bed, because they luckily have a smoking floor. The bed was really comfy and i love they have the soft/hard pillows. Enough for 2, lucky me, the girl i was with just needed about 1/4 of it. LOL As i said, new hotel, so new bathroom, really nice, as usual many white soft towels, they carry here Dove hand soap & shampoo dispensers in the shower, nice touch. The bath has a color patterned frosted glass wall towards the room, that was a new thing for me. I really liked the new locks with RFID or NFC they have, and not the usual "swipe-the-card" kind which BTW always give tons of problems. It's great cause i didn't even had to take the card out of my wallet for the elevator or to unlock my room, really cool! I was on the first floor, so not much of a view though, but still i got to see the Berlin Wall and the Spree as they're located just a couple of 100 meters away. On the check in the girl in the front desk wasn't that good, they either don't have a Priority Check in counter or she just didn't care, even though i had my Reservation on my Passbook, she asked again for my name, and all kinds of stuff, well you know Germany and its service. The Restaurant is nice, with a big glass facade from top to bottom and the Hotel has even its own Starbucks inside where you can get drinks charged to your room, really convenient. All in all i'll definitely consider this Hotel the next time i go to Berlin. The Location for me, at least this trip, was beyond amazing, as other friends where staying at the Michel Berger, and the Warschauer Str. Station is within 5 minutes walk. So connections where really good. The Internet was superb, and as usual Free (don't know if for all, but at least for Priority Members it is) and i got pretty good speeds, 25 Mbps symmetrical, for business customers amazing if they need to reach a Server or VPN. I hope other locations get some of the new things they have here upgraded soon, like the locks, elevators and internet. It's pretty nice to have a flat screen hanging on the wall and not on some kind of chest of drawers. Check out was really easy as i did it thru the iOS App and when i got to the front desk this nice guy greeted me, saw on the screen i already checked out and handed me an envelope with my bill. Great, i was out of there in 1 minute, and he actually fulfilled the Priority Club protocol, not like at the check in. Kudos. Oh and of course as a Priority Club member you get 2 extra hours to check out.

I don't think we've ever stayed somewhere so nice. Breakfast is amazing - so many hot and cold options that all are carefully chosen and prepared. Two things to note: this hotel has a bar/event venue in the courtyard so if you're looking for somewhere completely quiet to stay - this isn't it - stay here if you enjoy being around people and music. Also there isn't AC and as such the room got hot for my American blood. I do think they have fans available, though.

Yoga mats in every room, motivational book, lavendar for getting good sleep. I love the cafe in the front lobby, lined with books, super cozy. The absolute standout for me was the breakfast. Every dietary restriction is accommodated with this incredible spread. As a lactose intolerant, I was in heaven with so many vegan options. Even the hot chocolate was dairy-free. I wished I could stay longer just for the breakfast experience! Rooms facing the inner courtyard can feel noisy at certain parts of the day and evening.

Huettenpalast is an unique "room" of caravans and cabins. It's a renovated old vacuum-production factory. It's the cutest thing you'll ever see. The owner, Silke, is so welcoming and did such a great job designing it and focusing on the little details. We wanted to stay in one of the caravans, but those were all booked up two months prior to our trip. So if you want a caravan, claim those fast! We ended up staying in the Berghutte (Mountain Cabin), which turned out to be awesome with the private space and window facing outside. What was cool was that most people staying at Huettenpalast while we were there were German families and couples on vacation. It's not like a hostel with a bunch of rowdy college kids. Breakfast was provided in the central area under the tree. There was water, coffee, tea, croissants, and fruit. Bathrooms were shared, but impeccably clean. Be sure to let Silke know if you're getting in past 7pm. The staff do not live on the premises, so if you don't have a key to get into the property, you're in trouble (unless you have an international phone, which we did not).

The hotel is located in a heavily trafficked area but good news is there is a fantastic sunny breakfast area on the first floor--so you don't have to skedaddle in the a.m. looking around the hood--with everything from a cappuccino machine to yogurt, fresh breads, eggs, sausages, cheeses, pate, cereals, juices and fresh fruit. Near check in there is a convenient small cafe with pastries, bread, cake, small pizza, tea or coffee with an airy view and cute seating (picnic table style, indoor and out front.) Again, the staff is uber helpful! For example, they can answer geographic questions in detail --thank you, Dennis!--and sell tram tickets at the front desk. As far as accommodations--here we go, whatcha need to know!--the AC is minimal so expect to sweat a lot in your dorm sized room. The WiFi is ridiculously slow--if it works at all--at 4.5 (compared to 120 in Texas). There is no instruction sheet on how to set the thermostat or what time breakfast is at or if there is an ice machine (there isn't one, btw.) No hot pot or coffee mugs. No in room fridge. No tub (the photos online display one) but the small shower in your private bath is pretty decent. The bed IS comfy with large screen tv directly across on wall. Our view was an enclosed green space area with no access to the traffic or big city buildings--yay! Quite relaxing! Good business hotel, good service, recommendable…read more BUT: Please be aware that Alexanderplatz is about 2 km away and has always been there. Quite euphemistic naming and might be frustrating to realize it's not right in the middle Berlin. It's still very central, located vice-versa a nice Park, just check google Maps if the location is what you expect.
