Amazing blow out!! I am a very very picky customer when it comes to blow outs. I have long, thick hair. I like it very sleek with no frizz. I went to Luisa e Flavia Salon at recommendation of my hotel. Tina did my hair - I wish I could take her back home with me! I also loved the whole vibe of the salon. Lots of local women bustling about and talking. Getting nails and hair done at the same time and chatting away. Tina was right on time for my appointment. I was a few minutes early too. I luckily stumbled across this darling little salon while roaming around Positano. I was in desperate need of nice blow-out and walked up the stone stairs to see if they could take me. The staff was warm and friendly and said that they could accommodate this walk-in. Yes, success! Admittedly, I was a bit nervous about the hair-styling not only because my command of the Italian language is not awesome but also because one never knows who to trust with the hair! But, I figured that since this was only a wash and blow-dry, it wouldn't cause any irreversible problem so I stayed and I am so glad I did! During my brief wait for a stylist, I perused the salons offering of beauty products which included some divine and exclusive perfumes...as a self-proclaimed perfume connoisseur, this can only mean trouble for me! But the good kind of trouble! The products they used on my hair, while I have no idea what they are, smelled delicious. And, the woman who styled my hair was very nice and somewhat maternal. It sounds like a strange way to describe a person but I just simply felt like I was in good hands with her. She spoke about as much English as I speak Italian so we said very little to one another but we somehow seemed to understand each other. I love when that happens! I understand, from the woman who checked me in, that the salon is jointly owned by her and her mother (Luisa e Flavia) and it was very obvious that she likes what she does for a living. The salon was steadily bustling with all manner of women and everyone seemed genuinely happy. My hair looked and felt amazing and I was very pleased with the service at this salon. I checked-out with great hair along with a couple of those exquisite perfumes and, whenever I use them, I fondly reminisce of my great experience at Luisa e Flavia and of the wonderful town of Positano. read more

Got my nails done for 140€ and was it worth it? No. She burned me, left them thick, and didn't fully paint them. Super overpriced for what it's worth. Although they were nice and welcoming they're not qualified enough to be charging that much. read more

Friendly and accommodating staff, in this family run business, paying great attention to detail. My girlfriend and I dropped by for spur of the moment pedicures on a Friday afternoon and they took care of us right away. The price was 30€ each, and what this salon lacked in the latest high-tech equipment they more than made up for with their good cheer and great work!! read more

Came in to get a gel manicure (Shellac) and the prices and work done on my hands were horrible. $25 euros to take my gel off, $20 Euros for new gel and $20 Euros for half manicure (whole manicure would have been additional 25 euros) 65 Euros for the entire thing. My real nails were fairly long, she cut one and asked if I liked the length and I said yes. She proceeded to cut the rest way shorter. Cut my cuticles with a dull tool and it make me bleed. Two days later one of my nails split and broke even tho super short. It's week later and the gel is peeling off. Total rip off and very poor work. My cuticles are in terrible shape. I am going to get it fixed. read more

Overpriced for what it is, but you're in Positano, so it wasn't too bad for that. They were friendly and did not hesitate to make themselves available for us (we walked in), but my polish job had some bubbles, and the woman who did my pedicure made my cuticles bleed! I got my nails done here while traveling. I understand that prices are higher in Positano than most places, but I paid 85€ ($100) for a gel nail "manicure" and a normal pedicure. It was 55€ for the girl to file and paint my nails with gel - no cuticles, no anything, and she only did two coats. Plus, she didn't get the line even in my nail bed. What!?! They wanted me to pay an extra 25€ to do the "manicure". My pedicure was fine and reasonable (35€), but it certainly looked like I did it myself and she ripped at my cuticles and it was painful. Additionally, the woman before me was getting red nails done. The tools the salon used had red nail polish on them and the wooden ones were soggy... I got nude nails. So so gross and unacceptable at any price! Do yourself a favor, go to the pharmacy up the street and buy the Essie gel nail polish (no UV light needed) for 10€ and do it yourself. It will look the same, you will save yourself some money, and possibly a disease. I travel quite a bit and have gotten my nails done in many countries, but this was by far the worst, most unsanitary mani-pedi. read more
