This Italian restaurant has the local reputation of being a white tablecloth atmosphere with…read moreoverpriced good food. It caters towards the upscale business crowd, which is why I was surprised when opening the menu to see a large pizza selection with a average price tag of 26 CHF per pizza. Yes, the pizza comes from a wood oven, but if I want pizza I would definitely go to the other good wood oven options in town where the price is 19-22 CHF per pizza. I have to agree with the local logic on this one, you go here for a business lunch, if the plat du jour is good. I have walked by several times, and never saw a compelling plat du jour worth my 26 CHF until just the other day. It is recommended to reserve in advance, but my friend and I arrived around 12:45pm and there were still tables available. The atmosphere inside is upscale, clean, white cloth, but missing any warm touches or uniqueness. Which I found to be quite cold feeling. The service though was efficient and OK. I wouldn't say friendly, but not rude either. The plat du jour happened to be a gnocchi dish (using the petite gnocchi), and it was very good - fresh, delicious, and tasty. Exactly what expected - good but pricey food for what it is. The hours listed say it is open Monday - Sunday 8-24, but that they serve food only from 12-2:30pm and 7-10:30pm (Pizzas until 11:00pm).

Great food and service. This place has changed from the old dusty place it used to be. The food…read morethere is excellent. Very much enjoyed the filets de perche du lac. Also loved the local wine selection. Will return

I don't know how many times I have passed this place, and didn't even realise it was there. It is a tiny little space packed full of imported Italian delicacies. They have everything from fresh Italian meats, cheeses, pasta, bread, olive oil, wine, etc. You can even bring in your own container and fill it up with fresh olive oil from the big metal keg at the front of the store. This is not just a shop, you can also order fresh paninis and sandwiches. I think they also have hand made pizza that you can take away to cook at home, not sure if they cook them there or not. For only 7 CHF I purchased a panini. Everything is freshly sliced there by hand - from the bread, to the meats and cheese. It is one of the best paninis I have had. The spicy chorizo sausage they used gives it a bit of a kick. It also had yummy tomato and aubergine on it. I can see why this place gets a long line at lunch time from everyone coming to get the yummy sandwiches. Unfortunately, everything is for takeaway, there is no room to sit here. The place does take credit card as I saw someone else using it. They had some fresh baked olive bread that I really wanted, but will need to come back to get when I go to fill up on some olive oil.

I've been to Le Petit Moulin many times for lunch since it's well located between Lausanne and…read moreGeneva, close to the highways. They have average food depending on what you order. Atmosphere 2/5: Atmosphere is alright. I've seen more original than what they have and it's a pretty cold atmosphere. The terrace during Summer time is great to enjoy lunch at. Food 4/5: Food is overall good. You need to make sure to order the right dishes tho. Don't try the Risottos for example, I saw one person ordering them and it wasn't really well presented neither looking delicious. On the other hand, they have some descent Filets de Perche and the Pizza are excellent. Service 3/5: Service is sporadic but it's still a little bit over average. Some of their waiter are really nice people and aware of their surrounding. Others have more a "Laissez Faire" attitude. Great restaurant to go to for Lunch and make sure to reserve your table initially if you're going during the week since most of the people working in Nyon are eating there.

Their pizza and pasta are of average quality and taste but both are expensive. The rest of the menu is more interesting and often very appealing but when they try cooking special items they get unequal results. I have had excellent venison and horrible roast beef. Half the time I get lucky and find the food to be really good, but the rest of it is unimpressive and disappointing at best. They can't seem to make decent french fries, so avoid that as a side dish. The service is average: they are nice, but inattentive to their customer's needs. The place looks decent, and they have a very nice patio in the back. There is an outside playing area for kids, so it gets a bit noisy when there are families on the patio.
