Giovanni and Isabella are third generation and their family has been in the Bellagio and Lake Como region since 1910. That kind of longevity speaks for itself but let me add that rarely have I been treated so well by any sales staff anywhere in the world. They were patient and kind, funny and relaxed and let me come to the decision on my own without becoming frustrated at me. Thank you so much. The artist, Paul DeMaria Guaitamacchi, has a wonderful sense of color temperature and feel for the landscape. He has a varied offering, with pieces done plein air as well as in studio. Subjects range from Sicilian landscapes to Chicago urban scenes. The original oil paintings are reasonably priced for the quality of work, and Melita, Paul's wife, is a charming hostess. After two uses the green coating started to wear and the base leather show through. He tried to sell my another bag but refused to acknowledge any problem. I am left with an expensive bag which cannot be restored without significant cost. This is an outdoor bag which should be resilient and strong enough to cope with weather conditions not something for display in a glass case. I bought an Italian product assuming quality and got a very poorly manufactured item rubbish quality and a complete rip off. No acknowledgement of customer issues and no customer service.
