I've been several times and each time has been a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is casual; in warmer months, they have picnic tables street-side that you can sit at; and, given that Germans are terrible at customer service, here you will find that staff offer great customer service. They do not offer an English menu so either bring some excellent language skills or be prepared to linguistically negotiate with your wait staff. In all cases, our waitress was mostly able to speak some English and had thoughtful recommendations. Most recently, I had some kind of baked potato with cheesy-goodness on top and mixed vegetables on the side. Prices are reasonable and they also have a decent selection of wines and beer. All in all, a nice sit-down restaurant that you're likely to have a pleasant experience with. Especially as Stadtgeflüster is certainly way ahead of many of the local run-down and dumpy restaurants.

My mood dictated some standard German fare and we settled on their Gulash vom US-Beef mit Spatzle und kleinem Salat. It may sound simple, but it was marvellous! There is no doubt that I'd return to this restaurant. I would also hope that anyone else who visits is lucky enough to be looked after by the same wonderful waitress. It is on a quiet street across from Geothe Haus. The sommelier was worth the trip alone. He was right out of a Wes Anderson movie with his curly mustache, bushy beard, tweed vest and quirky way of speaking excitedly about the wine options. The food was the best meal that I have had in a long time. Very well seasoned and innovative combinations. It was a business dinner so I didn't mind the high prices, but it was one of those rare times you feel you are getting what you paid for. I had Burrata Caprese salad which I had always wanted to try- it is mozzarella cheese that is creamy and oozy inside- yum. And then I had rack of Lamb with a salsa and root vegetable puree. Everything was fantastic. Even the aperitif of red peach liquor and seltzer.

Set on…read morethe 3rd floor in the Alte Oper in central Frankfurt, the dining room has a grandiose ceiling with beautiful detailing, paint and decorations throughout. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating to those who don't speak German so well (like myself). They also had a beautiful Christmas tree up and the halls were decked out for the holidays. We were very well taken-care-of and the food was excellent. I started off with a risotto served with grilled calamari on top. It was delicious - cooked slightly al dente to show off the textures and flavors of the wild-rice varieties that were used in the dish. The squid was perfectly tender and tasty on top, they have a full size and a starter size of the risotto. For my main, I had the filet mignon, a 200g cut of Omaha steak, imported from the US. It was perfectly medium rare per my order and came served with vegetables, a garlic butter, pomme frites on the side and a choice of either peppercorn or béarnaise sauce. For desert, I tried the chocolate lava cake. It was on the small side (for the price), but with all that had come before it, it was a perfect way to finish off our evening. We also had two bottles of wine which, as always with restraints, were quite pricey, but went down very well. I would recommend this for special occasions, celebrations or family gatherings, etc. It's definitely a classy place with most men using at least a blazer and most ladies in dresses.

The dishes vartitey are really good , Everything was served with Beautiful Presentation and really marvelous taste. I highly recommend to try the green salad with Mushrooms and the steak which is cooked to Perfection. It is a place suitable for special occasions and celebration , not a usual hangout for sure . it is as well on the pricey side , but for occasions or treats it should be alright
