The menu is multilingual - Hessisch, German & English - and includes hearty foot fit for active guests e.g. after a hike up a mountain, plus a few smaller snacks & a special kids' menu. Nothing fency but befitting and absolutely enjoable. So expect steak, Schnitzel and other meat offers - even so there are salads as well. The portions are big, the quality is very good and the prices are good as well - especially on the food there is no real surcharge for the great location. It's a spacious restaurant with a trattoria attached and a cigar bar. The wine cellar here is great and they have some fabulous wines, grappa and many other different spirits from Italy and around Europe. It's a pretty posh place and seems to attract a bit of high and clientele. The menu is fairly extensive with pasta, starters and steaks. The mixed starter was very nice and we shared a Chateaubriand for two which was ok. The sauce tasted a bit weird and the steak was over cooked for my liking. The dessert I had of almond Creme brûlée was also ok nothing special. The flavours were nothing special here at all. The service was great to begin with but very slow later. We also waited a while for our food. All in all an ok place and I may come here again. If nothing else I might come back for the wine and drink choices they have.

The Ratskeller is a wellknown and frequently visited location. So it might be useful to make a reservation in advance. The chairs outside are only a few.
