Walked in with my mom and bf, fully thinking I wouldn't be able to eat anything there since I have celiacs and they make the ice cream rolls in those cold plates where they just scrape off the ice cream from. Turns out that the staff are very knowledgeable about dietary restrictions. I was told the cereal killer (name of the ice cream) was gf, they showed me the bag they use that states it's gluten free. They brought out brand new clean utensils, changed their gloves, and use a separate clean cold plate to make the ice cream for me. I was also told the bubble tea they make is gf as well. Lucky Rolls has GREAT ice cream, but I love their boba even more! They have cute cups, good portions and unique selections. Their large cups are about $5 and their ice cream is about $7. The staff are very welcoming and have warm personalities. The interior design of this place is really cute and simple. This is a challenging review for me, to be honest. As soon as you walk in, the staff is engaging and friendly. You can tell they're working hard to promote and sell their product, but they do such a great job at it. The way they treat you makes you want to support their business, just a really friendly and hard-working staff who should never have trouble finding work. Maybe it's because I found myself in the mood for soft serve, spotted an ice cream shop, strolled in, and found something a bit different than what I had in mind. This place is that Thai-style iced cream where they basically make it in front of you in these nice looking rolls. I believe trend-wise it's gaining ground, and it was interesting to watch. As I ate it, I just found myself thinking that taste-wise I would've preferred to just get a tub of iced cream that I like from the store and have more for less. I can't give it less than 3 stars, and that's not compromising my integrity as a reviewer on here. The service is excellent, the atmosphere that they basically create is excellent. And the ice cream certainly isn't bad, but just... not my thing, I guess. I don't think I would choose to go back, but at the same time I certainly don't regret having gone. Very delicious bubble teas with a variety of interesting flavors. They have cool popping flavored bubbles filled with juicy flavor- I've never experienced this at another bubble tea place before. Also really cute- they have heart and star shaped jellies! I had the 'kiss me' passion fruit flavor and added bubbles to it. The flavor of the drink was delicious and you can tell they brew real black tea. The lychee jelly was much more floral and flavorful than other places I've been- in a good way. The bubbles I added were softer with less bouncy than I usually like my boba, and it tasted like coffee, which I happen to love but threw me off a little bit. I went back to Lucky Rolls to try the bubble tea and it was so good! Definitely better than the ice cream rolls if you ask me. The boba had an excellent flavor and the texture was perfect. The milk tea was super tasty, especially for vegan milk tea. My only qualm is that you don't get to pick the type of non-dairy milk because mine came with almond milk and I strongly dislike the flavor of almonds. I didn't taste it that much but a hint of almond snuck through and prevented me from finishing my drink. It would be cool if they had coconut milk too! Although I have walked by this place on weekends, I've ordered delivery from here 2x through ubereats during weekdays while I am at work: 1st try: I called ahead because they'd been open for over an hour but appeared to be offline, and they told me that their tapioca wasn't ready; they said I could order in a few minutes and adjust the sweetness, so I asked for only slight sugar in the order comments section. The large rose boba I ordered was very sweet (not that it's solely their fault, but I guess the drink pushed my teeth over the edge and I actually ended up going to a dentist for emergency severe toothache a few hours after drinking the boba - it was the last thing I consumed). My coworker got the oreo ice cream and said it was okay but too small for the price. 2nd try: I ordered the large rose boba and asked for no sugar, and ordered another ice cream. About 10 minutes later, I got a notification that the restaurant CANCELED my order, with no explanation as to why. I checked ubereats and the restaurant was still up & accepting orders, so I can only deduce they had an issue with my simple request for no sugar added to my drink? The most upsetting thing is that I had a referral $5 credit that I was applying to the $5.99 ubereats delivery fee, and because the restaurant canceled my order that just went down the toilet. Had my best Taro Milk Tea here! I had the hot one. It was sweet but also the Taro flavor was not mild but very solid which hit me strong comparing to other Taro drinks I had in different places. I love tapioca and theirs were very soft and flavorful. I also tried the Strawberry Ice cream Rolls the other day. I loved how I could feel the pieces of fresh strawberries in it, and the toppings (you can get 3 free toppings per one order) were AWESOME!
