Because Gloria is a huge dog person and has her own fur baby, I felt fully confident that she would take care of mine. My dog loves her! I have multiple years of experience in dog grooming. I started out as a bather and eventually went to school to become a groomer. I took some time off to work in a vet clinic to further my experience with clients and to recognize certain behaviors that would indicate illness in my grooming clients. For example I can tell when a dog is about to have a seizure so I can stop what I am doing to lessen the chances of the seizure being worse. I work at a vet clinic for 3 years while I also continue to learn to groom on my own.

Miniature Schnauzers can mat easily because their traditional cut leaves longer hair on the legs, chest, and beard. That longer hair traps dirt, moisture, and debris, especially if they are active and live in areas with high amounts of underbrush and leaves. Instead of having a respectful, professional conversation with me, Dawna made snarky remarks to me in front of another customer, saying our dog would look like "Swiss cheese" and "look stupid," but that she would do it anyway. She even added that she prefers to "shave him naked" rather than have him look like Swiss cheese, and dismissed my concerns by saying, "It's just hair. It will grow back." This was unprofessional and unnecessary -- especially saying it in front of another customer, which made me uncomfortable and embarrassed. As a paying customer, I do not not hire a groomer for what she wants to do; I pay them for what I request, provided it is safe for our dog. I expect respectful communication and clear explanation of options -- not sarcasm or ridicule. A good groomer should work with owners to find the best solution for the dog, not belittle their request. When I hire someone for a service, they work for me -- not the other way around. I'm paying for what I want done, not for what they'd rather do. I will not be returning and hope this feedback encourages Donna and Vanity Fur to practice more professionalism and respect for future clients. Based upon my past interactions with Donna, I fully expect her to double down and leave a baseless and falsified response to justify her rudeness and unprofessional behavior. Nothing says "professional" like blaming your own paying customer when you get called out. Instead of fixing the problem, I fully expect Donna to deflect, and made excuses. These photos of our sweet little guy were taken the day after his grooming after the small mats were trimmed and as everyone can see, he doesn't look "stupid" or like "Swiss Cheese" and didn't need to be shaved like the owner preferred. It is our contention the Donna was rudely pushing the lazier route of shaving him to save her extra work and time. Additionally, just as I expected, I received a nasty text message from Donna in which she vowed notify other groomers in town to blackball us as customers and she falsified the majority of her response to my review. This is one really nasty vindictive business owner.

We were also quoted slightly lower for our female German (bath w/ nail clipping $21) and our male ($26) and when we went to pick up our dogs the owner said whoever quoted us on the phone was wrong... but we had them quote us twice before I showed up with all my dogs... he was a complete asshole to us. In the last few months, things have really gone downhill, and it's gotten to the point where l'm going to take my business elsewhere. The only reasons I haven't done so are because I'm a VIPP, which gives me 3x the points due to my spending, and it's the closest location to me, making it convenient. Over the last few months, the customer service has been basically nonexistent. I place several orders online multiple times a week, and every time I arrive to pick them up, I have to wait and wait. I eventually end up walking inside to get my order because they never come out. Half the time, they can't find my order, even when it's clearly right in front of them. I've also been told they don't have my order or know where it is. Additionally, I've seen employees standing around when nobody's even in the store, while I'm waiting for them to bring my order to the car. They look clueless as to what's going on. When they are busy which is often they look like they're running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Why are 10 people in one line when the employees look to be chatting it up while the one cashier is clearly overwhelmed ? I believe the employee turnaround is the contributing factor with everything thats going on! They have new people who don't have a clue what's going on and some don't appear to even want to learn the job. It's basically the blind leading the blind! I completely understand there is a learning curve with any job but something needs to be done. Not to mention them giving me wrong items or the quality of the items. As I stated before I don't enjoy writing this review but it's gotten to the point where this needs to be addressed. I know I can't be the only one who's noticed a steady decline. When my husband has picked up orders for me recently even he has noticed and said something to me about it! I'd like to add he NEVER complains about anything!
