We were shown a quiet booth immediately by a nice woman and given cold water and menus. We ordered cocktails - both of which were refreshing. Mine was supposed to be neat, but came with a ton of ice, but it was a small inconvenience. Note - they do have a massive gin selection you can access via /QR code if that's your jam. I ordered the German Kasespatzle, their main vegetarian offering, $20.00 - Hand Made Spaetzle, Caramelized Onion, Roasted Carrot, and Mushrooms with Mozzarella and Gruyere Cheese. We got Bernie's Bacon on the side for $4 for my mom to eat with her half. She ordered the crab cake special, which we also shared, which was as the server promised, no filler. Overall, this was a nice meal and tasty. The Spaetzle was rich and luxurious, very much like my grandma used to make. The roasted carrot was a new addition for me, but not a bad one. The crab cakes were very good, but basically came with a bunch of shredded plain lettuce and nothing else. I'm glad we visited and I would come again if I was in town, but this is definitely a place that favors a meat eater.

They have tables and booths and a large outside patio area that does have giant umbrellas to sit under. Unisex bathrooms that were insanely clean and our table was clean too. Great views of Lake Michigan! I saw two entrances but I think there may be more, but one of the entrances was off the marina so easy access to get inside after boating. Service: Our waitress was super friendly and attentive even though she had a lot of tables. Appetizer was at the table within 10 minutes of ordering and our entrees came out 25 minutes after we finished with our app, great timing! Food: ORDER THE TEMPURA CAULIFLOWER. Seriously this is the best fried cauliflower I've ever had. SUPER crispy outside, seasoned really well, perfectly tender inside, huge pieces and small pieces and the dipping sauce is delicious (I think it's gochujang and rice wine vinegar). I seriously would drive all the way back here to get them. I will dream about them. The reuben was really good, corned beef had a ton of flavor, lots of cheese and kraut but definitely get it on the rye bread. The only reason I gave this 4 stars is because the flatbread/nan bread? they have for all their sandwiches is impossible to eat. The people at my table, and the two tables next to us all ended up eating it with a fork and knife because it just fell apart. I wish I didn't live an hour and a half away, I would come here all the time for the great beer selection and food (mainly the cauliflower).

I especially recommend the Thai Peanut Shrimp--it was incredibly flavorful and came with a generous amount of shrimp. The Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer was another standout. It was served hot and fresh with a light, crispy breading and a delicious dipping sauce. So good! We also had cocktails, which were just okay for me. They tasted a little watered down and weren't as spirit-forward as I prefer. I also thought the décor felt a little tired and didn't quite match the more interesting menu. Overall, though, we really enjoyed our dinner and would recommend Twisted Willow if you're looking for something a little different and flavorful while visiting Port Washington!

Came here for dinner and unfortunately left pretty underwhelmed overall…read more The restaurant itself was clean, and service initially started off fine. When we first arrived, the restaurant was not busy. Only a couple other tables occupied, so expectations were fairly high for a smooth experience. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill. The food took quite a while to come out despite how slow it was. When it finally did, it was first delivered to the wrong table before eventually making its way to us. The food runner then randomly grabbed a ranch from our table and brought it to another table. He seemed potentially new, but overall the service felt very disorganized and clueless, especially considering the restaurant wasn't busy. We ordered the cheese curds to start, and they were disappointing. The breading was mushy and extremely greasy, and the cheese itself tasted low quality rather than the fresh curds you'd expect at a Wisconsin pub. We also ordered several wing flavors since they were on special: garlic parm, buffalo, bourbon BBQ, and lemon pepper. One issue right away was the lack of flavor variety overall on the menu. The wings themselves were inconsistent. Sizes varied dramatically, which clearly affected the cook quality. Some were fried so hard they were like chewing leather, while others had soggy, undercooked skin. Flavor wise the buffalo were almost completely flavorless. The lemon pepper was extremely mild. The garlic parm was probably the best of the group, though still just average. The bourbon BBQ was rough. The sauce tasted like an overly sweet, overly salty cheap jarred glaze rather than an actual house-made BBQ sauce. My wife ordered the Mary Mac burger without a bun and was told extra lettuce leaves could be substituted to make it a lettuce wrap. Instead, it came out with just shredded lettuce. The burger itself was overcooked and lacking flavor. The fries were decent enough, but nothing memorable. Overall, this felt like a place with potential that just missed the mark on both execution and consistency during our visit.

Signage outside indicated that they have fish fry on Wednesday night so that was a plus for me. He had a water street melt with chips and fried cheese sticks. He asked for his burger to be cooked medium. The menu indicated his burger had onion spread on it. His burger was not cooked medium but well done. The onion spread was a "sauce overload" and not a pleasant addition to the melt. The cheese sticks were wrapped in a won ton wrap and deep fried. They were served with a marinara. The cheese sticks could have used some type of seasoning to give them flavor. Very bland. I had the fish fry special of fried perch. Mild fishy flavor and definitely frozen. Thin crumb breading that had some type of seasoning. I choose fries, coleslaw, and rye toast. The fries and toast were the best parts. I wanted tartar sauce for my fish but it was so sweet that it wasn't good with the fish. Service was fine. She needed to leave before us and asked if we wanted to close our ticket. We didn't plan on staying as we're traveling so we closed it out. Location was easy to find. Bar area was clean.

They have a robust old fashioned menu--all made the Wisconsin style. We ordered the barrel aged old fashioned and asked if it could be made in the classic style (and specified without soda). Our server said, 'of course!' Annnnnd--then we got our drinks and they were both Wisconsin style. Not a huge deal and we did enjoy but a word of warning to those who favor a classic old fashioned with no wash--might have a hard time with that here. For our second cocktail, we got Manhattans which were better! For an appetizer, we were waffling between the spinach artichoke dip and the brussels sprouts. Our server recommended the spinach artichoke dip so we went with that. The dip was flavorful and the tortilla chips are house made. It was good! For my main, I got their eggplant parm, which was ample, saucy, and served on a bed of pasta. I definitely couldn't eat it all in one sitting. It was delicious. Our server was attentive and the prices are reasonable. Get to it!

No Coors on tap here but they have Stella (woohoo!). Despite living near this pub since 2010, I've only recently discovered how good the food was here.
