We stopped in last night on way up north. Have always wondered what it was like inside on the odd corner in saukville. Pictures online were promising, previous reviews seemed encouraging for the service. We arrived around 530..sat at bar to order drinks then we got a table. Overall efforts of the staff was valiant felt like we were in a slow motion episode of bar rescue. Everyone was happy, very pleasent just seemed very overwhelmed. Food service was slow..whole team is not in sync..flow was off. Our waitress was fantastic really running to cover all aspects of service..as attentive as she could be for circumstances. Our drinks were amazing but as far as food..we would come back in a few months once kinks get ironed out. We had wedge salad appetizer was served but not as described in menu, no char..was old salad head, tiziki sauce was bland, crash burger which had way too much garlic aioli but great sandwich. Baked cod dinner with chips, fish was tough..waaay too much seasoning, homemade chips were not good no seasoning overcooked. Kids shrimp dinner was interesting not sure if breaded in house or prepacked but no flavor. Chips overcooked no seasoning either. Wish the owners and staff the best in future hope it gets better because investment inside and outside is very appealing. If anything I'd just stop for drinks. Beer selection is great, seasonal tap was delicious, in house tap olgas brew was delicious as well.

My parents love their bang bang shrimp and blackened chicken salad! They also appreciate that they always seem to have a hazy ipa on tap! Each time I come, there is never anything on the menu I'm dying for. I wish I had a good go to but I feel like the menu is missing that for me. With that being said, all the meals I've had have been good. Just never amazing. Some of the items I've liked are the shrimp tacos, cauliflower tacos, Italian beef dip sandwich, and shrimp on Fridays!

There's street parking all around the block where it's situated and a city lot. As you enter, you hit a reception podium and they offer seating in the bar area as well as in a dining section. This is a large open space with high and low top seating. We chose to eat near the bar at a high top table. Behind the bar is an impressive bottle selection. Sadly you can only see the liquor list via a QR code, which is slightly inconvenient and annoying, as my cell reception was not great in the building and the list loads sloooooowly. They explained that they would have to be constantly updating a printed list, which I understand, but then A) post a WIFI password/link on every table with the QR code and/or B) get a tablet or two that you can give tables so they can just see the electronic list in a bigger, faster format. We both had features cocktails from their menu. My Manhattan was very good. My mom enjoyed the bourbon smash more after she squeezed her lemon into it, as it was on the sweet side. Mom enjoyed her avocado steak salad and said it was quite good. I'm a little irked to see a $0.50 add-on for an extra side of dressing. That seems cheap in this day and age. I ordered an Impossible burger, with the toppings of their garlic mushroom Swiss burger. I'm not sure why everyone's version of a veggie burger is always the one with the most basic toppings on the menu. We might not eat beef, but vegetarians still like flavor. While the toppings were good, the burger itself was undercooked and only vaguely warm. I was offered a choice of 4 different fries - I chose sweet potato fries. Again, I'm irritated after the fact to see there was a $2 upcharge. They weren't that great and sweet potatoes are not that much more expensive that potatoes. So, yes, my lunch was disappointing across the board. Service was by the bartender, Brad, and a crew of others kept checking to see if we needed more drinks or anything. They definitely did well in the service arena. Of course, a manager or someone noted when I took the photo of the bar area and said she hoped I was leaving them a great review, so they might have paid extra attention. Too bad it wasn't to my food. We chose to come back and try some bourbons after our day's adventures. We sat directly at the bar, where there had been a staff shift. This bartender seemed pretty unknowledgeable about the selections on offer and even how to make the drinks. Ours were good, but under chilled. I'm not sure she understood what having a drink "up" meant. Which, you know, is weird at a cocktail bar. Again, the list was slow to load. I think we'll go back and we'll try other items. They have a couple veggie friendly menu items. We're impressed by their bourbon and whisky selection. They just need to up their game in a few areas.

The menu suggests, "you'll need a fork for it" and that was no lie. It honestly was one of the best burgers I've had in ages. And the mushrooms? Cooked to perfection. It was juicy, cheesy, messy. Cooked to temp and perfectly seasoned. It was everything an awesome burger should be. My guy had the Reuben. I'll admit this out of the gate: we are corned beef snobs. We abhor the dry, thin-deli-sliced attempts that try to pass as food. We grew up on Benji's, Jake's and McBob's. We love a thicker, moist, pulled corned beef and good gracious--this corned beef Reuben was fantastic. Our mate had a classic BLT. No complaints. Killer bacon. How could that be wrong in any way? Love that they have a salad bar and offered both a soup and chili on a Saturday for lunch. Can't wait to go back. The fried chicken (and buckets to go are offered) looked great.

Between the Greens was a bookmarked place I hadn't been to yet, so I stopped and placed an order to go. I got cheese curds and The Whaler (a three piece cod sandwich) with waffle fries as a $2 add-on. The cheese curds were good. Not super crunchy like I prefer and they retained a little too much grease, but they seemed to be freshly battered, so that's a plus. On paper, $16 (as of 10/6/2024) for a fish sandwich may not sound like a good deal, but the sandwich was HUGE and tasted amazing. The $2 charge to add waffle fries was also worth it as they give you a ton for your money. I'd gladly order this again. Given their name and the golf greens in their logo, I assumed Between the Greens was a clubhouse restaurant at a golf course. Instead, I was surprised to see a country bar & grill that's simply close to a couple golf courses. For a moment I thought I may have been in the wrong place. Glad it all worked out.

The "best" local place that was open in January was The Chocolate Chisel. My family and I stopped and each got a cone. I also got three truffles. The truffles I bought were chai tea milk, experimint milk (ganache with peppermint extract), and peppermint hot chocolate. The chai tea and experimint milk truffles both tasted like they should based on their descriptions, but I wouldn't wantto buy either again. The peppermint hot chocolate had some crushed peppermint on top, but other than the chocolate being in the shape of a mug, nothing about it reminded me of hot chocolate. Ultimately I don't think any of them were worth the price. The ice cream was lackluster. Both of my kids got cookies and cream in a cake cone and thought it was skimpy on the cookies part. My wife and I sprung for waffle cones with ours and were both disappointed in the excessive cone to ice cream ratio that heavily favored the cone. She got plain chocolate and it was fine. I, however, got banana-rama and ended up throwing it out because it tasted more like butter pecan than anything banana related. I even went back inside and verified with the employee that it wasn't mislabeled in the case.
