Three of us ordered some version of a BLT and it was sooo delicious! My son ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and he loved it. Now, the negative, they've ruined all other BLTs for me. The amount of bacon they used, took this very basic American staple, and shot it through the roof. I felt like a queen eating this sandwich. My husband and kids all got delicious smoothies too. The restaurant feels like a country hole in the wall and I LOVED IT. I would absolutely make this a regular stop on my crossing country journeys.

Daughter loved the fried catfish, my friend green tomato BLT with avocado was delicious and the salad way very vinegar forward, which is how I like it. Be prepared though. There is no AC. The location is perfect for a coffee shop. I love old downtowns, and this is in an old downtown building. Inside is quiet and comfortable with lots of seating options. Sit at the bar, at a table, or even gather with friends on a couch. If I lived nearby, this would likely become my second office, as I am a huge fan of working in a coffee shop. The staff were super friendly and made specialty drinks that the kids loved. I got a cold brew in a can from a nearby roaster that was great. I had never had straight cold brew in a can, but this is a concept I can get behind. Most cold brew in a can is some fru fru sweet nonsense or some Monster clone. I like my coffee ice cold and by itself. The can provided that, but it was also easy to store and drink. More canned cold brew, please! If you are in Vicksburg, stop here. You will not be disappointed.

I must say, as much as Southerners love their sweet tea, they don't over-load their donuts with sugar here in Mississippi. I was heading home from Texas to Georgia when I had to pull over at a pilot to fill up on gas. I…read morewas hungry, so I checked to see what was around me and not too far next-door was a restaurant that I probably never would have went into just by looking over but I promise you it was worth it. When first going inside there is what looks to be like a small general store and the opening to a bar right behind it with people sitting having drinks and talking but more of a country cabin feel bar to it. I kind of felt out of place but went in anyway and asked if they were still serving. They said sure come on in and order at the register with the menu and then just have a seat in the room next-door, which had tables and chairs felt like picnic table and chairs, or you could sit on a chair near the bar which I did because it seemed kind of cold with the air condition blowing in the dining room area. I was skeptical as if it was a local joint because people kept looking over at me but I'm glad I didn't run. I ordered a 9 ounce ribeye and it was one of the best steaks. I think I have ever tasted outside of the near the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It was so juicy and flavorful. I wish it was closer to my house. It would be a weekly meal. I believe the price was like $29 and you had, two side items. I started out with a Louisiana style gumbo, which was very good and tasty but the star of this show with the steak. While eating the cook came out over to my table and asked how everything was and with my mouth full of tender juicy steak, I could just shake my head and she would just laugh. The steak was so perfectly seasoned and had so much flavor with the perfectly cooked pink center . I normally prefer fillet mignon because there is not much fat and I don't care for fat, but I caught myself not only I say sucking on the little fat pieces but actually eating some of it if it had a little meat on it. As my sides, I picked green beans and Black Eyed Peas and it came with a cornbread muffin which I carried with me and ate in the car on the way home. The cornbread muffin was sweet and cake like so I'm glad I didn't get dessert because this was just nice. Yes yes yes a nice steak, and it brought all the Texan out in me. I hope I can find this restaurant again on my travel back to my mom's from Georgia.

It is located inside ERDC HQ next to the cafeteria. The coffee is good (I usually get soy milk but the soy tasted... different than what I am used to. I also added a shot of Green Food to my smoothie which I was surprised they had. I am only in town for a short time but back home, I usually do a shot of Green Food in the morning. I did not pack it with me so I have been going without it. I can definitely feel a difference with the energy level and it just feels good especially with the amount of deep fried food I have been eating while in Vicksburg. My only wish is that there was a seating/communal area but given the location and such, it makes sense that they do not. Glad to have this gem so close to the office!
