Amazing and they take amazing care of the horses and have all Equipment there like hats and they help you tack up your horse the only negative is there is a shooting range down the road Simone shot and in the middle of the trail my horse got spooked.

My daughter is 3 years old and recently diagnosed with autism. For the past year or so she's had a strong attachment to horses, from afar. Never met a horse. Watching horses on TV or wanting every horse toy invented. I scheduled her very first encounter with a horse at the Lucky 7 Stables. We just moved to New Hampshire and we weren't sure where to go then I found this place on the internet. Boy am I glad I found this place!! The moment we walked in we were immediately greeted by a lady working in the registration office, I feel terrible for forgetting her name but there was so much excitement with my daughter that forgot. She was so helpful and made my daughter, Addison and I feel so welcomed. Later on we were greeted by a lady named Donna (made sure to remember her name LOL) who was going to be giving Addy her riding lesson. She told Addy and I to hangout in one of the stables to visit with the other horses while she got the one we would be working with, Glory, ready for the ride. The horses in the stable were so beautiful and docile and my daughter quickly approached the horses with no fear. She first met Maxine who later became my favorite - she likes to give armpit nudges, haha!!! Addison hopped on Glory for the first time and looked like she's been riding horses for years aside from her favorite rocking horse she has at home. 3 years old and she grasped some of the handling gestures (to get the horse to move or stop) right away! Donna was so pleasant and my normally socially resistant daughter warmed up to her fast. I liked her a lot, too!!! The lesson was finished and I knew immediately that we would be coming back - I even want to volunteer to brush the horses hair after they finish rolling around in the mud to give Donna a break before she rides them lol. They like to give Donna a hard time. As we were leaving the lady from earlier that works in the registration office brought me over some contact information to get my daughter started in a program for autistic children so Addy can ride horses more for therapeutic lessons. I wish I remembered her name she was so helpful to do that for me. I think I just wrote a book!! That just goes to show you how excited I was after leaving Lucky 7 Stables...they made my daughter feel special and that makes this mommy extremely appreciative!!!!!

What a special place. I stopped in for a scheduled trail ride during the week and it really made my day. The staff is extremely nice, pleasant, professional and easy to deal with - much better than many surrounding stables who are taking advantage of customers and up-charging upwards of $80 for an hour trail ride. Everyone was wearing masks and being outside makes this a very safe and enjoyable COVID activity. My horse was so well behaved and beautiful and the trail ride was just exquisite with all of the gorgeous fall foliage! This place books up very quick in the Fall, so I recommend booking way in advance. They are open 7 days a week and do trail rides during every season. I can't wait to go back around Christmas to ride in the snow with these beautiful horses! Highly recommend a trail ride here!!

I highly recommend this hidden gem for trail riding. Staff is kind and friendly. They took their time getting you ready and informing you about trails and horses personalities. Not to many steep or narrow trails, definitely nice for beginners. It was my eight year old nieces first time, and my 64 year old mothers first time on a horse! If my niece did not feel comfortable riding they were going to have someone walk with her, but they put her in the middle and she did great. They gave them well behaved, great horses. I had a sassy gal Foxy, but I am experienced rider so I was okay with her random trotting as we walked passed lessons that were going on, she wanted to go, but I had fun with it. Price was good, if you're there with another person its $30 per rider or $35 for single. Gigantic property, well taken care of horses and grounds. They book up quickly, so if you can definitely book ahead of time.

Charming stables. Bit odd going in, as you drive in around and behind a house, then it opens up to the barns and paddocks. Multiple little "tack houses" are set up in rows, like mini barns. I'm not sure if that's for the people who board their horses to store their equipment? The staff are very friendly and horses well tempered. I had emailed them looking for riding lessons for my visiting niece, but they responded in a timely manner to say they were booked up. However they did have openings for trail rides, so made an appointment for Jade and her mom. I used to do a lot of riding and would have gone too, but with a bum shoulder didn't want to take any chances. Jade's mom was a little wary, having had a very bad experience a few years ago, but she enjoyed this ride. Turned out to be a private ride, just the two of them and their guide. I think her name was Jess, or Joss? The ride was a leisurely hour long. Certainly worth the $30 each. You do have to register and sign a standard release form in the front office before entering the stable area. And they do have helmets to use. No extra charge. There are a couple gentle Labs behind the front desk. They will perch up on the counter for a head scratch.

Patrick was a sweetie! All the horses are so well cared for!

Such a great experience yesterday on the trail ride. I took my 8 & 10 year old granddaughters. The 10 year , Briella, takes lessons and did fine but Addison (the 8 year old) got frightened when she got on the horse, so Linda one of the staff members, walked with her horse the entire length chatting with Addison. Ernest, our trail leader, even serenaded us with a couple of cowboy songs along the way even! They both want to go again! I'm going to schedule a couple of private lessons for Addison I think. Staff is so friendly & knowledgeable and prices reasonable! Definitely going back!

We went on a nice trail ride today. They let me ride Moose... and he's not called Moose for nothing lol. It was quiet and a nice break from our crazy busy life. My house likes to take a break and eat a lot but other than that it was very nice.

Our small crew included myself, my daughter, and my girlfriend. We were greeted at the ranch by the very hospitable hosts, David and Jessica Martin. The riding package included a delicious western meal prepared by David eaten outdoors where everyone knows that food tastes best! Jessica provided a very informative overview of horsemanship that refreshed my memory of being around horses and provided new information to the the rest of us who had a bit less riding than I had, although I'm by no means an expert. Jessica's knowledge of horses is amazing. We each rode on a horse that was hand selected by Jessica based on observing each of us in the paddock on horseback before setting out on the trails. The pace of our ride was comfortable enough for anyone with a bit more riding experience but not too fast for those with less experience. Our horses were beautiful and well trained. One thing that I noticed early on about the Martin Family Ranch was how CLEAN the barn and stall were and how loving cared for the horses were. I loved the fact while the ranch and its horses are a business with money to be made, the well-being of the horses at the ranch is of paramount concern to David and Jessica. We would love to go back to the ranch again some day for more riding!

I'm writing this a few days after my experience and am still smiling. At first, I actually drove right past their property because it was so beautiful that I thought it was someone's beautiful home with well-kept grounds. Jess greeted me outside. We chatted a bit about what I should expect for the day. I was surprised when she said they had prepared lunch for me. When I say they prepared a lunch, I don't mean crackers and cheese on a plate with grapes, which is always lovely. What I mean is they grilled delicious meats, prepared potatoes, as well as a fresh cucumber and tomato salad! They sat with me at the picnic table and we got to know each other a bit while we ate. Jess decided which horse she thought would be best for me. I got Gorgeous George. She chose wisely. All of their horses are gorgeous. They look so healthy and vibrant! David and Jess believe in the importance of the horse and rider getting familiar with each other. To do so, you have to spend some intimate time with each other. I was shown how to brush the horse (for different reasons and with different brushes); how to clean the horses hooves; and how to walk the horse. To be clear, I was shown how to do these things and then did these things. Then I got to ride the horse in the ring. By the time I got to the ring, I was so much more relaxed with George than I was when I first met him. David determined that I was ready to hit the short trail, so the 3 of us rode off. They both determined I was ready for the longer, more challenging trail. What a challenging, but fantastic rest of the day! We had a 2 hour adventurous ride through the trails and waters. I'm not an overly experienced rider. I've only done trail rides, and only started doing those as an adult. I've done those trail rides in NH, TX, AZ, etc. This was like no trail ride I've ever done. The scenery is great, the instruction is great, and the people are great. They love their horses, and care about their riders having a unique, safe, and beautiful day. I cannot wait to return!

Based on the number of…read moregreat reviews they have online I expected a very fun relaxing ride on the beach, and expected Jan would be a very kind person who makes people feel right at home. I'm sorry to say that was not even remotely close to what I experienced. I booked a private ride at Hampton Beach last month and I was so excited for it. That excitement quickly dissipated when I first arrived at the farm. Jan was extremely standoffish, unwelcoming, and rude. She spoke to me like I'm an idiot and snapped at me multiple times. For example: she asked about my experience with horses and riding, so I told her I grew up riding horses, competed in hunter/jumpers when I was a teenager, owned a horse for 11 years, and a couple of years ago I got back into riding and currently take English riding lessons once a week. She snapped at me "Well I'm going to need more information than that!" ...Okay, then why don't you ask me specific questions? I can't read minds and I have no idea what exactly you want to know, I simply provided what I thought was a sufficient summary of my experience. There's absolutely no need to be rude to me about it. Another example: after I finished grooming the horse I was assigned, I asked Jan if she wanted me to put the saddle on now or if we wait until we're at the beach to tack up the horses. She snapped at me: "Yes, put the saddle on now, and do it CORRECTLY!" Again, there was no need for me to be spoken to that way. I just asked a simple question. Jan's attitude towards me very bizarrely changed after she saw that I know how to tie a slip knot. She said to me "Wow, I'm very impressed!" and at that point her demeanor softened a bit. She would act kind and friendly towards me, but then she would revert back to speaking harshly and randomly snapping at me. It was an extremely strange, hot-and-cold back and forth from her. I couldn't tell if or when I was going to say or do something that would apparently irritate her, so I was extremely anxious and uncomfortable the entire time. The horse I had been assigned to ride was a sweet mare, but not my idea of a suitable trail mount. By the time we arrived at the beach she had already worked herself into a nervous sweat, anxiously whinnied several times throughout the ride, didn't want to stand still, and didn't want to go near the water. (which of course Jan blamed me for, even though I was following her instructions for how that particular horse needs to be ridden) Despite my riding experience I am not a perfect rider nor a very confident one, and I honestly felt this horse was too much for me to handle. At one point I felt like I even lost control despite doing my best to steer and hold the horse together, and I nearly crashed into Jan, which caused the horse she was riding to kick mine. Jan claimed that all of her horses are calm, fun to ride, and love the beach...but the one I rode did not fit that description at all. My own anxiety that I was already feeling because of Jan's treatment of me could have very well been contributing to the horse being anxious, so even if I had been given a very calm horse the ride was probably doomed no matter what. I put on a brave face and pretended to have fun, but inside I felt like crying. I could not believe I spent $350 to be repeatedly snapped at by a strange woman and to be scared while riding a horse instead of having fun. At the end of the ride Jan told me I'm a great person and it was fun to ride with me, which made me so confused. After being rude to me, snapping at me numerous times, and treating me like I'm stupid...now I'm suddenly a great person and she wishes we could ride together again? I'm sorry, what?! Altogether it was a bitter disappointment, the worst trail ride I have ever been on, and not at all worth the hefty price tag. I cannot recommend North Road Farm to anyone.
