Lucky 7 sells cigars, newspapers, and a bunch of other items ala a convienience store. the cigars are in a case behind the counter. not many brands seen. luckily, the young african gent was knowledgable about maduros and got one for me. smoke: nat cicco maduro rejects (3.99) -online available for $1.10 by the box -this 'gar was amazingly fresh and tasty, good smoke. ashes: -not much selection, but seems the inventory is fresh -rents probably high in gourmet ghetto. so pricing is "fair". -would repeat....... read more

It was clear I did nothing wrong to this. they sell defective merchandise. by posting a sign saying they don't take returns, they have permission to buy inferior items and sell it at a huge markup. they don't care about you. you do t know where/how the glass will crack. I've been coming to Lucky 7 for the past several years and I gotta say this place is like a second home to me now. I've consistently been shown the best customer service. The people operating this place are wholly dedicated to their customers. They recently went through a complete remodel and the place looks better than ever. They have a vast array of glass tools from top quality bongs to bubblers and some of the most unique pipes. They got all your essentials covered ( papers, rolling tobacco,etc. a surprising variety of cigarettes as well. Both domestic and foreign. For all the Cigar connoisseurs out there they have you covered as well. Now the selling point for me isn't even all the things they offer. It's how positively responsive they are at stocking something they might not have (just for you) . That's right if there is something in particular you need and they don't have it. Just give them a holler and they'll make sure to have it for you. I could go on and on about my own positive personal experiences here but I think you all get the point. This place is basically a smoke shop, but it also has a little newsstand out front with all the major papers. It's quite nice--certainly the most convenient place within a few blocks to pick up a paper after your get a coffee at Peet's or the French Hotel. read more

yes, it's just a smoke shop, but it holds a special place in my heart because this was my supplier of cigars (dominicans of course, damn bush still blocking the real deal coming in from cuba) while at berkeley. the owner is really great, and would always tell me what's fresh in, and give me a discount. he knew his stock well, and would sometimes recommend something new or interesting that he thought i'd like. if you're not into cigars, then forget about this place - nothing for you here. if you are, it's worth checking out. they don't have anything super high-end, but they do have some nice smooth smokes. read more
