If I was rating this place purely on the ambiance I would not rate it well. It is very crowded (even with seating options upstairs and on the main floor), loud, and not extremely comfortable (because they want you to leave in order to allow seating for the next customer). Upon entering you are overwhelmed by a beautiful display of delicious looking chocolate, treats, and sandwiches. However, first secure a table if you can, and then go back and order the food, as you cannot order the food from the table. You can only order drinks or ice cream from the table - ask for the special menu. The sandwiches are nothing spectacular, except for their smoked trout sandwich. Being a Swiss tea room their sandwiches are bite size. So my husband and I ordered three different sandwiches to share. My husband noticed that EVERYONE was going for the trout sandwich, and was worried their would be none left. Thankfully we snagged the last one. We ordered some coffee- which was great and we had it with one of their sweet treats. I have been to several Swiss tea rooms and often their treats look beautiful, but they don't taste as good as they look. However, here the treats tasted better than they looked! We loved the desserts! read more
