Came here on a recommendation from a blog that they had the best croissants in Lausanne. They have…read morea ton of pastry and bread options and you order those first at the front of the cafe - keep in mind that if you have an American credit card it is a $20 minimum charge or you have to use cash. I tried the almond croissant (3.30 CHF), which was more breads than it was flakey. I also sat down in the cafe area and ordered a cappuccino (5.20 CHF), which was more latte like than cappuccino like but I still enjoyed it. If you need to pay in card, you'll have to go back to the front and it is the same minimum. The reason why I'm giving this place 2 stars if not because the food isn't good, but rather that they didn't give me the option to pay for both the croissant and coffee at the same time. I had enough cash when I ordered the croissant but had to meet the minimum when I bought the coffee - if I could have ordered them together (I did ask the front and she said no), then I would not have had to purchase as many random things to meet the minimum. I feel like that is something they should be more considerate about especially as they don't exactly advertise that they aren't a card friendly place.

If I was rating this place purely on the ambiance I would not rate it well. It is very crowded…read more(even with seating options upstairs and on the main floor), loud, and not extremely comfortable (because they want you to leave in order to allow seating for the next customer). Upon entering you are overwhelmed by a beautiful display of delicious looking chocolate, treats, and sandwiches. However, first secure a table if you can, and then go back and order the food, as you cannot order the food from the table. You can only order drinks or ice cream from the table - ask for the special menu. The sandwiches are nothing spectacular, except for their smoked trout sandwich. Being a Swiss tea room their sandwiches are bite size. So my husband and I ordered three different sandwiches to share. My husband noticed that EVERYONE was going for the trout sandwich, and was worried their would be none left. Thankfully we snagged the last one. We ordered some coffee- which was great and we had it with one of their sweet treats. I have been to several Swiss tea rooms and often their treats look beautiful, but they don't taste as good as they look. However, here the treats tasted better than they looked! We loved the desserts!

Vincent is a franchise Bakery which has 2 locations, one in Lausanne and one in Lutry. I've been to…read moreLutry for the first time last week-end for a coffee and some pastries. Atmosphere 4/5: The atmosphere is upscale and really quiet . Saturdays and Sundays are really busy and you might have to wait 5-10 minutes. The decoration is really nice but there's a lot of elderly people most of the times which explains why the place is so quiet. Food 4/5: Food is definitely good. I tried the Chicken Curry Sandwich which was excellent. The mille-feuilles and the Croissant aux Jambons were good as well. It is small portion sizes beside the sandwiches but they are really tasty. Service 2/5: I doubt I will find many place in Switzerland with a rate of 5/5 but it was descent. She forgot to bring us some water during the entire time. Definitely a place to go, the pastries are exceptional.

While we were waiting in Lutry for our touristic train to depart we wanted to find a warm place to…read moreescape too. As very few places are open on Sunday within Switzerland, we were very happy to find this charming little place just a few streets away from the waterfront. Even though it was 2pm the place was packed full of people. We couldn't even find a table to sit down on in the tea room, so we took some items for takeaway. You can choose from a selection of sandwiches, pastries, chocolate, and fresh baked bread to take home. I had heard that this place was well known for their Kirsch soaked cakes dipped in chocolate. So I took a few to enjoy at home. They lived up to the high reviews I had heard about. They also have a location in Lausanne that I will need to check out as it is a bit closer to home.
