First, he started finding specific in properties that met our needs (which was highly important for the distance of our move), then started actually going to and showing us properties from a video call (we were in TX at the time), and eventually helped us find the perfect home for us by doing so. Next, he helped me with pricing in an offer that lined up well with our budget and the value of the home, and then when inspections were done started guiding us in where to push for concessions, etc. At this point this is already a 5-star experience, but it doesn't stop there. I mention to Alan my plans for financing the house, and he points me at a local lender that will have literally saved me tens of thousands of dollars over the life of the loan, and then, fast forward to closing day (when we finally arrived here), and he gets a couple minor things resolved well beyond our expectations (saving us another few hundred dollars). I'd say that I'd use his services again, and if I'm ever moving again I definitely will, but he did such a great job that I'll probably never need a realtor again. If you're looking for a new house, it'd be a mistake to not talk to and consider Alan Wray of Heartwood Realty.

We paid the $80 for their application fees. Was told it would be Friday before they knew anything. We were also told our pets wouldn't be an issue. Friday, I get a call saying they're having problems with their system and to call back Monday. I called back Monday, they were still having problems and our agent was out sick. I called back Tuesday, got a very rude receptionist, took my name and number and said someone would call me back. They never did. So, I went to their Facebook page, posted a quaint note to them and emailed them. I wanted answers. Two hours later, a woman called me back stating the owner changed his mind about the pets and that she didn't know what else to tell me other than she couldn't discuss it over the phone and would be mailing me a letter and that the owner had also chosen another tenant. Now, mind you, this whole time, our credit check was not checked (I keep tabs on that), until the following Monday and they never called any of our references. What other tenant? We were told noone else had applied. I have heard they have several people apply and then choose from the best credit score. However, if that is the case, then why not just tell us that instead of giving us the run around and, very obviously, lying??

All I can say is that despite being the most difficult personal real estate purchase I have ever been involved with, it was also, in many ways, the smoothest. I know it may sound contradictory, but please read the comments below, which I copied directly from my recent review. Thank you James and thank you Re/Max All Stars! My wife and I just completed a very difficult transaction - multiple sellers misrepresented the properties they were selling by claiming there were no deed restrictions when in fact, there were. One home looked perfect, however, upon inspection, we discovered numerous problems with most major systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC and roofing, and multiple water incursions. All in all, over the span of nearly three months, and, through a total of four escrows, we were able to find and purchase the perfect home for us. James' attitude and professionalism were absolutely STELLAR. He not only went above and beyond, in every way possible, he did so with a calmness and compassion I have rarely seen. We have bought and sold quite a few properties through the years, and, I am a retired forensic appraiser - recognized by various courts - trial, appellate and supreme, as an expert in real estate. Despite the highly atypical level of difficulty, time, research and scheduling required to complete this transaction, James came through for us 100% of the time. We asked some unusual - and difficult questions and when James didn't know the answer, (which he usually did), he took the time to do the research and find the answers for us. James is not only very hard working, he is equally knowledgeable. We will DEFINITELY be using James again.
