Sorry to say, this wasn't a four star visit. Three was a gift. Ordered two sandwiches, took a good bit longer than expected, 30-35 minutes became 50, hey it happens. But if I am waiting 50 minutes for a chicken parm vodka sandwich, it better be good. Soggy bread, chewy chicken and very little sauce with even less flavor. Wife got an eggplant sandwich, she was ok but said her bread also suffered from the sogginess. I gave three stars because 2 seemed unfair, this is a 2.5 place at best. I really hate to do this; I've rated Luciano's very highly in the past. But they have been on the downward slide for a couple years now, so I'm updating my review to reflect the current situation. Our family likes our pizzas "Neapolitan" style, where the crust is firm, a little chewy, and there is some searing going on on the top of the crust. You know, like you get from a traditional wood fired pizza oven? We understand that Luciano's doesn't have wood ovens, but to compensate we've been ordering a large pizza: "Well Done, Thin, Crispy crust." On our last four or five orders the center has been coming out consistently under-cooked, limp, and soggy. (To the point that our previous to final order needed to be reheated on a skillet to "firm up" the crust enough to hold a piece to eat!) My wife, the baker in the family, suggested that maybe they just couldn't get the center of a larger sized pie crisped up, despite our asking for "crispy" and "well done." We decided to do a test: Two smaller pies, ordered the same as per our usual: "Well Done, Thin, Crispy crust." I added a note to the online order to the effect: "Don't be afraid to burn the top a little; we like it that way". When I picked up the pizza they popped open the boxes for inspection. One was fine; nice and caramelized on top, exactly as I hoped. The second was (supposed to be) a plain pepperoni. While it was cooked as ordered, it did not have one single disc of pepperoni on it; it was just a plain cheese pizza. The guy in the kitchen said send it back and I'll fix it. Let's look at some of the options he had available: 1) Remake the entire order to give the customer two fresh, hot pizzas as ordered. 2) Remake the pepperoni pizza, giving the customer one fresh, hot pizza as ordered, and another one that's been sitting under the heat lamp for a few minutes. 3) Offer a coupon for complimentary pizza of the same size on my next order, if I'd take the 'plain cheese'. 4) Offer to 'comp' the faulty pie. 5) Offer a discount, say ( 1/2 off because it's missing the meat) on our next order. 6) None of the above. He chose "None of the Above" and put pepperoni slices on the already well-well-done pizza and tossed it back in the oven. The problem with this is that a) the pizza went from "well done" to INCINERATED, while at the same time, b) the pepperoni didn't cook much at all and just sat there, looking forlorn on a bed of burnt cheese. When I got it home and gave it a good look I was appalled. It was so burnt that we ended up throwing half of it away and could only pick out spots here and there that were barely edible. And having to pitch a large portion of a $20 pepperoni pizza is unacceptable. And both pies suffered from the same limp crust as ever. Luciano's claims "New York Style" pizza, but there's no way one can fold a slice in half and eat it New York style; it's far too limp in the center. So: sayonara, Luciano's. You've been our go-to for pizza on many a Friday night, but the quality you're providing is inversely proportional to the prices you're charging. The prices keep going up and up and up while the quality and value (and focusing on customer expectations!) are sliding toward rock-bottom. Also, Luciano's, if you're reading this: I wish you'd stop pressing customers to add a tip to the bill before they have received any product or services. In cases like this, there should also be an option #7: Give me my tip back! read more

We ordered the XL pepperoni pizza. It was huge but most importantly delicious. It's difficult to find really good pizza but this pizza is so worth it. We decided to eat in and were greeted by a very friendly woman who took our order and was also our server. She brought out our pizza straight from the oven. It looked so good we couldn't wait to dig in. This pizza had the right amount of sauce and cheese and the dough was thin and crispy. Our go to for pizza! We usually just go with a cheese well done or meatball if we are wanting a topping. It's one of two pizza places that actually come close to nyc pizza good. It's a small shop more for takeout as it's just a couple of tables inside and outside, very very small and can be packed with many waiting for their order. Would be awesome if they could expand the place someday and have more team members so the pizza wait during those prime times wasn't as long but I get it and worth the wait! Just order about 30 - 45 minutes in advance you plan to actually pick up if during prime dinner time and you won't have to wait around. I have come to find if they say it will be about 15 - 25 minutes it's usually really 30 - 45. And again, we just order 1 large pizza. Don't bother ordering via app for delivery. They do a great job on the pizza and are fast. It's droopy in the center, if you fold it, but it's probably because it had sausage and pepperoni on it. I was not a fan of the garlic nots. They were like tough dinner rolls with the Parmesan on top and butter which was jelled at the bottom. Not much flavor at all. read more

ok, their pizza is ok, but i also ordered the 14" manhattan pizza, the eggplant parm, the caprese salad and a home made cannoli. the cannoli was tasty, but i expected 2 for 7.99. the outstanding entree by far was the stuffed eggplant, so yummy, the spaghetti was ok, but the eggplant was by far the star. overall i liked everything, the pizza, the entree, and dessert were worth it. a bit pricey but everything is these days. read more

Food lacks flavor and moisture. For the price, there are better choices. The jumbo chicken wings might be jumbo to a Cornish hen, but not a chicken. Overcooked, dry and tasteless would better describe them. Dont waste a thought with the sausage and peppers sub. It too was dry, and overcooked. We ordered takeout to try this place out and I'm glad we ordered conservatively. We usually order a margherita pizza as this is a pretty safe choice to test the quality of a place. It's a classic you can't get wrong, so we ordered an XL margherita and added prosciutto. We ate half for dinner and wish we could return the rest. It was stiff, flavorless, and incredibly lackluster. The only plus were the garlic knots that were decent. The marinara it came with was flat and sour. Tastes like they dumped a can of sauce in a cup. Not a fan and we won't be going back. read more

We are from Chicago and extremely picky with pizza. We had to order last minute due to a family emergency and did not want to order from a chain restaurant. We are new to the area and read the reviews for this restaurant through yelp. We were extremely surprised, the pizza was great! The sauce, toppings, and cheese were on point- we wish the crust was cooked a little more which is the only negative critique of the pizza. I, also, ordered an Italian sub, the sub was good, not the best but it hit the spot and what I liked about it was that it felt home made which at the end of the day is what I really appreciated about this place, it felt like I was eating at someones home. I think we got a trainee on the phone when we put in our delivery order and eventually ended up talking to someone else to straighten it all out. That was our only blip and I don't even count it because everyone needs job training. As for the food...hot damn, this place has some tasty pizza! Just ordered delivery GF Stuffed Pizza and a GF BBQ Chicken with added pineapples and jalapeños (trust me, try it). The showed up earlier than expected (delivery guy was pleasant), pizzas were loaded (these guys are NOT stingy with the toppings!), and they included a bunch of extra sauce with the order. Speaking of the sauce...scratch made and flavorful! We're going to use the leftovers on some pasta we have in the fridge - can't wait! As for the Stuffed Pizza, it sounded like a weird combo to me - ricotta, spinach, bacon, ham, garlic, and mozzarella. I was against ordering it because of the flavor profile (ham and garlic??), but my husband pushed for it, so we got it, and man, was I WRONG. It was sooo good. Simple ingredients, but the garlic is the star of this one....current favorite....will 100% be ordering it again....and probably again. 3 things about this place: 1. Heard good reviews about this place so decided to give this spot a shot after having a bad experience from a different spot. Inside was a size of chain places so mostly pick up orders. 2. Call in orders were made for one cheese and one pepperoni pizzas along with garlic rolls. They had the foods ready to go when I got there and they were still hot and fresh. Came home and got ready to eat but they got one of the orders wrong and got a pepperoni + mushroom pizza instead of the cheese pie. 3. Taste wise, pizzas were pretty solid. It's not your NY style pizza but one of the best I have had in SWFL and their marinara sauce was amazing. Garlic knots were fantastic and had the perfect amount of garlic and butter and the flavors were not overpowered, which I liked. Also, the pie portions were huge and will be enough for a family if you order a large. I recommend this place to people who are looking for good pizza spots in Cape Coral area and will definitely be back to try different items on their menu. read more

We have been ordering from Luciano's every Friday, almost, for a while. Recently on several occasions we asked for extra pepperoni and it didn't look like it had extra. Today's order the chicken tenders were crispy and had very little meat on them. Did they change their supply? If they did they made a mistake. The meatballs are fabulous as always. The pizza was so-so as was the taste of the toppings. I will order once more and if it comes out the same we will find a different place to get our Friday night dinner. A little disappointed. Pizza still taste good. Just very disappointed that large spots on the pizza has missing cheese. It wasn't evenly distributed. I thought maybe the cheese slid when being taken out of the oven. But I'm thinking that's not what caused the spots? But I'm really thinking it may not have been evenly distributed because the pizza dough where there's no cheese on. It is dry, so like it was cooked in the oven that way. After spending over 15.00 and the build your Stromboli in accident, "wrong stromboli" I got a basic cheese stick with basil in it for 15+ dollars. Along with antipasta salad and wings. 60+ dollar order for crap. Then the best is their attitude when you call them out on it. GOOD luck Lucianos of Cape Coral. I ordered on the slice app and after 2 and a half hours after I ordered Luciano's canceled the order. This was a Saturday night and canceled at 9:45. Too late to order from anywhere else. I have to get up for work at 4:30am so I am going to bed bungle because at this point sleep it is a higher priority than eating. I used to get Togo from them frequently when I worked near by. We had an excellent experience, and the pizza and sandwiches were very good! When we stepped in the store and realized it was a carry out restaurant we turned around and walked out because we thought they couldn't accommodate 6 people. To our surprise the manager came out and said that they could accommodate us. We ordered our pizza and they brought it to us at some outdoor tables.
