    Lobster croquetas

Stopped in here for a quick drink and app before a reservation at their sister restaurant next door. Though small inside, the ambiance is modern and bright - completely different and refreshing for Erie! We were able to grab a seat at the bar, and I wish I had taken a photo of the drink menu to share! They had a page of nice looking cocktails, and I ended up with the gin based cocktail. It packed a punch and was tasty! My friend ordered a drink that appeared to be a take on an old fashioned, and we both enjoyed our drinks. We also decided to give the lobster croquetas a try, and these were excellent! The roasted red pepper sauce they came on really enhanced the dish, and I'd definitely order these again. They have a nice menu for sharing small snacks. Our bartender was attentive and the service was relaxed. I'd love to return for more food and drinks!

This has been on my list for a while after coming to Erie multiple times with my friend to visit her family. We got martinis that were great and the shrimp and lobster bucatini for 2. LOVED the sauce and loved sitting at the chefs counter. 10/10 ambiance. Will be back to try more! I have an eye on the short rib!

I've heard so many great things about Lucero over the last couple months they have been open. The vibes are welcoming and comfortable as you walk in. The bar is beautiful and the staff was so kind. Since this was our first time in our waiter made some great recommendations. I ordered an espresso martini which features espresso from a local cafe in Corry ($14). The Prosecco on their featured wine list was also fantastic. We ordered the sourdough bread and whipped ricotta. The portion size was rather small and the bread looks like it may have been premade/frozen. The crispy eggplant was amazing, I would have ordered 3 more of these. Sadly I didn't get a photo of the crispy trout, but this stole the show. I would come back to Lucero just for the trout and eggplant! Lastly we ordered the basque cheesecake, and it was honestly, not great. For being a newer restaurant to the Erie area, the service and food is pretty good. I would come back to try a few of their other menu items. I do think the prices are a little high for the quality and quantity of the items received. I love the tapas/shared plate style concept and this is so unique for Erie! I'm hoping to be back soon to update my review!

My colleague and I came to Lucero on a Tuesday night (with no reservation) around 6pm for dinner. The restaurant wasn't crowded, 3 other tables were occupied and eventually a few people came in and sat at the bar that had seating for approximately 10 people (half of which gave a chefs table view). We settled on a few dishes that were recommended from the waitress including one of the daily specials. We had the broccolini that sat on top of a bed of whipped carrot puree and olive oil. The broccolini was very flavorful especially with the whipped spread that was included and it came out hot. The cured meat plate was honestly nothing special and I immediately regretted this choice after I saw the lobster croquetas. Next we had the patatas fritas and these were definitely disappointing... one because you can't really go wrong with french fries or actually you can. They went wrong because they drenched the fries with some kind of tomato based sauce and a chilled creama, these sauces did nothing for the dish they actually made the fries feel cold and flavorless. Last we took the recommendation for a crowd favorite and ordered the trout. The trout is served with two fillets (sandwich style) that has a lovely cream cheese like whipped spread in between sitting in the midst of a flavorful oil and a lemon for garnish. This was really good but honestly could be served with a side for more of an entree feel. Lastly, we ordered the almond cake and I wasn't a fan there was too much of the raspberry spread and felt like it needed something like a scoop of ice cream to balance out the flavor. I didn't really taste the actual cake just the tart raspberries. Overall I liked Lucero and may return with the hopes of more flavor for small plates.

Both food and service was 10/10!! Delicious!! Do not miss! We ordered the tuna crudo, trout, short rib, blue crab croquetas, and espresso ice cream sandwich for dessert. Soo soo good!

Cæsar Salad (as main) feeds 4! (Seasoned bread crumbs in lieu of croutons was a misfire IMO.) So does the Fish & Chips! (French fries were perfectly done.) Brussels sprouts were well-prepared and seasoned. A number of families on a Sunday evening seemed completely content. Ale brewed locally for the house was yummy. We were sat in the old bank safe that the kids thought was the coolest thing....so did some of the adults. We started with shared apps of the honey whipped ricotta, tater tots and French onion soup. Everything was very good. I ordered the loaded smoked brisket that was really large and tasty. Everyone else ordered pulled pork, crispy chicken sandwich, black bean burger without the roll, reddy burger, Caesar salad and the child's burger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Our waitress was very pleasant and attentive. Would definitely stop here again if passing through. The restaurant is located on a cute street surrounded by shops and across from a small park.

My wife ordered chicken korma and I chose pork chops. Both were pleasing choices. Our server was young - and likely new. She was impressive! My wife frequently orders chicken, therefore she is an excellent judge regarding what she was served. I seldom order pork chops because I have been disappointed too many times. This was an exception. My pork chops were prepared well and I enjoyed every bite.

This year was equally bad, so we won't be going again. Here's why. FOOD. It's okay, but it's not that good. Between the 2 visits and 4 people, we've ordered a decent variety from the menu. Nothing stuck out as especially good. Most food was left uneaten. SERVICE. The staff is kind, but highly ineffective. It took them multiple trips to the table just to get drinks out, water cups filled, etc. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for the appetizers and another 25 minutes for most of the entrees. We then had to wait another 15 minutes for the last entree to be served - and then it was prepared wrong. And this was on a slow night. LOCATION. Can't be beat if you're staying on the grounds. It's right by the Plaza. If you are looking for good food and service, there are better options (like the Intermezzo) on the Chautauqua grounds.
