I would not recommend Rocco's Landscaping based on my experience…read more The total job was $15,000, and Rocco was paid $7,000 in cash. After approximately 2 1/2 weeks, with only one worker regularly on site, the project had only progressed through demolition and preparation work. Rocco then told me he was ready to begin pouring the concrete. At that point, I had serious concerns with the preparation. The approximately 32-foot retaining wall setup was about 3 inches out of level from one end to the other, and there was no proper footing or rebar installed for the wall. I specifically told Rocco not to pour any concrete until the preparation was corrected. He insisted that the work had been prepared properly and refused to make the corrections I requested. After that, he stopped showing up to the job site. Because the job was left unfinished, I had no choice but to hire another contractor. Once the new contractor inspected the site, the preparation had to be redone. The area needed to be dug deeper, proper reinforcement and rebar had to be installed, and much of the preparation work I had already paid Rocco for had to be completed again. What made the situation even more concerning was that after Rocco stopped working on the project, one of his employees came to my home later that night and left a handwritten note on my door stating that if Rocco did not want to finish the job, I could contact the employee directly and pay him separately to complete Rocco's work. I paid $7,000 toward this project and was ultimately left with an unfinished job that required another contractor to correct and complete the preparation before any concrete could safely be poured. This was an extremely disappointing experience, and I would strongly encourage anyone considering this company to carefully inspect the preparation work before allowing concrete to be poured and to make sure every detail of the project is documented in writing.
