Amazing, unique, relaxing Oregon experience. The homemade fried chicken is a must! Step back in time and enjoy a slower pace. This is a great place for a romantic rustic get away or a family gathering. If you like the outdoors, Oregon history and good old fashion hospitality, this is a must.

My family and I stayed here and had an amazing time! Jennifer, who runs Lucas Lodge, made sure we had everything we needed and went out of her way to make sure we had a great time and felt very welcomed. It was a great experience for our kids - it felt like we stepped back in time to a slower pace. We enjoyed hiking around property, fishing and swimming in river. Jennifer also cooked amazing meals during our stay- we were well fed. We had eggs benedict for breakfast and fried chicken for dinner. The rooms were spacious and decorated nicely. We loved the porch in the evenings where we played board games and enjoyed each other's company. Definitely a highlight on our trip and would love to visit again soon!

We spent three nights here this month and definitely will be back. Jennifer, the proprietor, truly goes out of her way to make your meals and your stay as terrific as possible. Read this review, however. It's not a 5 star hotel - so know what you're getting when you reserve. As far as the cabins, they are well decorated with plenty of sleeping area. No "living room" as both rooms are made up as bedrooms. But some have a full kitchen, others a microwave and fridge. Each has a balcony out front to enjoy the scenery. These are rustic type cabins, so there is no TV. They do have electric, but don't expect phone or internet while you're here. You can expect wildlife and outdoors activities though. We made our reservations by phone. Call back if you get the machine - there's not a bunch of employees there and those that are can be busy working in the kitchen. When we reserved our room, we also reserved dinner. She DID ASK about any allergies or preferences when we booked, in contrast to a previous reviewer's rating. The meals were FABULOUS. No, there's not a menu - it's chef's choice. But if you have a preference, ask in advance and she will do what she can to accommodate you. We had three dinners. They are served family style with a salad of some type, main course (fried chicken, ribs and tri-tip were served on our nights) and sides. Our sides included corn, string beans, squash, as well as a starch like mashed potatoes with gravy option. Home made biscuits or bread are served, one day with an amazing caramelized topping. Dessert was cobbler and ice cream. There was more than enough food for everyone eating and everything had a homemade touch. Lemonade and water was served, or you could bring your own. We didn't ask for anything different. Jennifer and her team served meals for as few as 10 people and as many as 150 while we were there, and we didn't hear any complaints. She works real hard to make sure everyone is happy. The area is very out of the way. Agness is about an hour from Gold Beach and there is nothing here except a couple of lodges, an RV park and one bar / grill type restaurant. There's not a lot to do if you're not into hiking, nature watching, fishing or hanging out at the river. The Agness general store is closed right now so bring your supplies with you. The ranch itself is kind of cool. It's set up almost B&B style with your own cabin. There are board games if you have children and a living room sitting area should you choose to use it. It has an airport with a grass strip, a small lake with an old boat and car around it for decoration. It borders the Rogue River with a dock below and a rocky beach is also part of the property. There's a meadow in the center where you can look up and see the stars every night. The Gold Beach clouds don't often make it up this far and the nights were beautiful. The website could use some updating. They don't do rooms any more, just full cabins, and the rates have gone up. It was a bit confusing when we got there, as there is no "welcome" sign or anything and you feel like you're going into someone's living room. Overall, this is a great experience. It was clean, nice, friendly and the food was great. They were wonderful with our daughter allowing her to help out with clearing the table. Jennifer is working real hard to make sure everyone is taken care of. We will definitely return to this lovely ranch.

Visited Lucas Lodge in 2005 on The Mail Boats Jet Rogue River boat trip with my family. Loved this place! Totally awesome and surreal.

My family and I have attended several of their tea and brunch events, and every single visit has been exceptional. The service is top-tier--thoughtful, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Kim and Wess, the wonderful couple who run Endincott Gardens, pour so much care and love into everything they do. Every dish is handmade and absolutely delicious--easily some of the best food in the county. Beyond the incredible food and setting, the atmosphere is calm, relaxing, and truly restorative. You can feel how much they value their guests and the experience they create. As a local resident, I'm especially grateful that Kim and Wess open their space to the community for events and spa services, even for those of us who aren't staying at the B&B. That generosity makes them true treasures to Gold Beach. We are already looking forward to our next visit--and are eagerly hoping their future dinner offerings become a reality! Endincott Gardens is a gem, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

We had "happened" upon this while making a long weekend following a conference in Ashland. Hoping this glowing and deserving view earns us some consideration when the place is booked solid In the future and we make a habit of coming back again. You're welcome:)

We couldn't have asked for better hosts! Due to Covid we couldn't gather for breakfast but they were happy to leave fresh coffee, scones (sooooooo good!), and prepared eggs from their chickens. Seriously those scones were to die for! We had a wonderful time getting away to Mermaid's Muse and we can't wait to visit again!

I'm a foodie so when I go somewhere to eat it better be something I can't easily replicate at home. Ana really out does herself with a multiple course breakfast. Very filling, clean eating, freaking DELICIOUS! Everything from the delicate slightly-sweet breads to the hearty main course which always includes eggs in some form, to the fresh fruit to the handmade desserts accompanying every breakfast. The coffee is safe (not too strong, not too weak, not at all bitter). They also offer loose leaf tea if coffee is not your thing. VERY HAPPY with Breakfast prepared by Ana. Breakfast is worth the trip all by itself *YUM* Their attention to detail is exhausting. There are too many amenities to list and even little snacks on tables though out the house. We had access to a full sized fridge/freezer downstairs as well as use of a microwave and toaster oven if we needed it. I can't think of a single thing that we needed; Richard and Ana have thought of everything that you might need during your stay. Arky's uses Hotel quality sheets and towels (all 100% cotton). The bed in the garden view room was incredibly comfortable (king: bamboo pillowtop mattress) with an additional bamboo mattress topper. Plenty of pillow of various soft/firmness. I wouldn't change a thing. I slept like a rock. I'm not sure how many rooms they rent out each night, but there seemed to be different couples and even an entire family staying during our time there. Never once did we hear anyone else in the house unless we left our room. I would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND this place over staying at a local hotel; they are priced about the same.

The room was well supplied with the things we needed. The steps and railings could use a bit of updating for safety and the stairs leading towards the beach area were in much need of repair, to the point that it was not a good idea to venture too far down that path as the lower steps dropped down further than the rest. The handrail at the very bottom was frail and really should not be allowed public access without being made much sturdier. When parking, it required you to back all the way out to the roadway. No viable place to turn around once you drove all the way in. Would we stay here again? Yes we would. I felt it was a good value for the price paid. You could literally hear and see the ocean right from the front room. It is a place that provides a lot of peace and quiet. Probably not the best for a young and noisy partying crowd.
